I love your videos. Can i run this in my car off 12v? I have a ROHM32107 dsp built into my head unit and a TDA7851 amp built in. But I am thinking of wiring from the optical out to one of these. My concern is that I will only have 4 channels frL frR rearL rearR and subwoofer... would I just combine center output with sub or leave it blank?

Hi, i have a 5.1 home theatre system dav dz370 model from sony. The player/amplifier module is wrecked. Is there a way to use these speakers ? 5 143w speakers and 1 285w subwoofer, total 1000w rms at 10%thd.

I have harman cardon with 5 channel stereo and other surround modes, but I am not sure the average crappy standard thingy can do this. That's the problem, I am stuck with the harman kardon, I love it but at the same time, its is said to be not the most reliable thing, I can repair myself but maybe not all problems. Still I love my harman kardon (HKTS 60 and BDS 580S).

@Steve Willson Kujur Hello Steve. i found all the parts, took me some time. Could you explain to me how to connect the other 2 Dsp's?i can only make em work seperately. Can they all be linked to the same input channel to create one sound. Or is this simply not possible. It almost looks like the other 2 dsp's arnt linked cause they are being used for another single device. Question is. is it possible to loop all the dsp's so the amplifier board has the same output on all 3 channels?

Hi man, ones question, you only hooked a pair of speakrs to the 6chanel amp. Also the imput was only on one of the DSPs. Is it possible to have the audio signal going trough all of the 3 DSPs? Or to have the 5.1 system to i would have to conect it to my computers motherboard on the specific outputs?

I know I am not him. But I can answer you. If your motherboard outputs 5.1 in the form of analog aux outputs you dont even need the dsp. If it doesnt than you can connect either coaxial or optical depending on the surround output capabilities of your motherboard. If you only have digital out you would need a DAC that processes that kind of single. You can get them. I hope I helped.

I was gifted a REL Strata 3 subwoofer there is trace damage on the amp (100 w) board which is separate from the dsp and pwr supply can I just replace the amp and keep the others ?? What amp would U suggest ??

Hi Steve. I am making a 7.1 soundbar using sony speakers. I have used 7.1 amplifier (aiyima ), astra 7.1 preamp and up2stream wifi module. How can I use DSP in my soundbar? Can you please help me with it?

What is the use of DSP here, is it used for Pre-Amp the signals to line level output. Can we use another pre-amp build using op amp ICs. It only amplifies the signals or processes the frequencies for amplifier. Please help I am in process of building an 5.1 channel music system using TPA3116D Class D 5.1 channel amplifier board. I found a Pre-Amp or tone board for amplifying the signals to this amplifier board on AliExpress. Would it work or I would need the DSPs as you did in your awesome project. Thanks

Android is limited to hardware provided on device, that is only 3.5mm jack (i.e. stereo or 2.1ch). It can't output 5.1 channel, but it can virtualize it. For real 5.1 output from this setup you need is - 1. A uncompressed lossless audio file with multiple audio stream, like FLAC/ALAC 2. An audio player with capable to process multi-channel output, like on a PC-mobo with 5 or 6 audio out ports or your look at backside of your audio player 3. Good cables, stable power outlet from wall, match-up electrical parameters of our speakers to the audio system Now ! Feel the difference.

Yes Differently this is only for demonstration I only use 2 channel and it can be 2.1, you definitely need 6 individual output form audio source to get 5.1

Technically you can also do it with three stereo outputs like on a motherboard. That how they are set out. Front left and right. Back left and right. Then sub and centre

I thought DSP have more than 1 output channel in order to use just one board to produce each 5.1 channel. I was thinking to use one to produce 4 channel (sub-bass, bass, mid-range and treeble), just programming the crossover in that.

Can you please provide a connection diagram for the modules. Looking at the video, it looks like all the audio signal goes from the source to one of the DSPs, and from there, 2 channels go to the 6 channel amp and 1 channel to the mono amp. The other 2 DSPs don't seem to have any audio input or play any role in your connections. Yes, they seem to be connected to power via usb, and their 2 channel output to 2 inputs of the 6 channel amp, but I don't see any audio signal going to these 2 DSPs.

As i said this video is for demonstration , you need 6 different channel to make 5.1 audio system, in this video i used my phone as audio output it's only have stereo output, you need an AV receiver for 6 channel output

Steve Willson Kujur thankx for the reply, however I still don't see the point of using 3 DSPs even if this video is a demonstration only. How many DSPs would you actually need for a real 5.1 amp? If your audio source is actually able to provide 5.1 audio outputs (instead of 2 like your phone stereo signal), what would you need the DSPs for? In fact even your stereo signal from your phone does not need to go through a DSP at all. I am sorry if my points don't make much sense, but I am trying to understand what you are actually demonstrating.

@@alexandermessaris8058 He wouldn't need to if the signal coming out of his phone was line level. It isnt so it would damage the amp circuits. Whereas an output from the motherboard can be set to give a line level output. You would no longer need any dsps

Hi Steve, I have some doubts. I see you've got only one DAC connected to the audio source and you're only using two speakers and the subwoofer, hence using only 2 channels in the 6 channels amp and the mono one. How would you make it work if you had a digital input (say a tosslink, coaxial or even hdmi) with an encoded 5.1 signal inside? I believe that most people use 5.1s for video, since music typically comes in stereo and there's no need for that many channels. Cheers!

600w for sub woofer is too much.. . it is near to real movie theatre subwoofer. 200w subwoofer is enough considering 100w surround channel

Totally agree. Unless the sub is hard to drive, also he is using a lower voltage power supply for that amp.

Nope, he is playing 2.1 but in fact, there are enough inputs for 5.1 it is just he only has enough speakers for a 2.1 setup. If you were to use a computer, for example, you could have a 5.1 output.

The amplifier you are speaking of likely produces 150 watts into multiparty channels so it has a far more similar power rating. And he is correct, it is class d so therefore much more efficient and compact.
