Acrylic pouring: Fluid art
My pouring medium used for my usual work is a pre mix of 70% “Mont marte clear craft glue and 30% warm water, if in the USA Elmer’s glue all works well (most pva glues can be made up with same ratios to make a pouring medium), I add my pouring medium to my paint slowly until I achieve the consistency of pouring cream, approximately 50/50 more pm if needed, not all paint brands go well with this pouring medium, so just test out.
paint brands mostly used are the Mont marte studio acrylics, dimensions, or pouring paints, Boom Gel stain.
I Certainly explore different brands and mediums, it’s all part of the learning process.
When iv mixed my paints I add 2-4 drops maximum of Helmar silicone, also Australian made, I stir in well.
I always like to mix up my paints and add silicone the day before I’m going to paint, and cover with a damp cloth, as I have found I have much better results.

HELP, I've bought a few cans of mis-tints from a paint store. I figured that I can use them as a base then add artist's paint from Michael's for different colours. Will all house paint crack like yours? You got lucky, your cracks look like butterfly wings, I'm sure we all won't be that lucky, it'll just turn into a cracked mess. LoL 😣 Do you think Flotrol will work? Thanks 👍

What causes the cells, and can I use acrylic paint high gloss from paint store, than top coat it with a clear Epoxy to give it more sheen and life to it? Beautiful work!!!!

Hi Gilly, I just wanted to thank you so much for what you do for us 💕 You're probably not even aware of the difference you are making in some people's lives! I watched you in a video getting emotional, it was bright happy colours like this one and I also felt the same. I had been very Ill physically and emotionally for over a year until a few months ago when I started to get a little better and got some energy back and thought I'd try acryllic pouring. I am a totally different person now thanks to people like you who give their time freely and in love! I couldn't wait to try this technique after finally conquering the Dutch pour last week, which is what I've been practising for all this time. I am so happy with how my Magical Mystery Pour turned out so thank you thank you thank you! I am an RN specialising in Palliative, Aged Care and Mental Health (not been able to work for about 18 months now) and have always recieved so much in return from my patients and their families. People usually have so much respect for what we do and it is a really nice feeling to know you have made a difference in someone else's life. I need you to know that what you are doing is exactly the same! You are not only generously sharing your time and knowledge but you are actually helping people to heal 💕 I'm sure there are a lot of other people out there that feel exactly the same and you deserve recognition for it. I love watching your videos and as a new subscriber am excited to go back and watch all of the ones I've missed! Please keep doing what you are doing! 💕 x x x

oh wow thank you so much for that heart felt message, i absolutey appreciate you and anyone watching and getting some joy from my videos i used to Nurse for 20 years until i myself had a serious health issue and gave up nursing but that was a long time ago now, so i can tell you im grateful for every day of my life that i now live. take good care and stay safe xx thank you x

I have now done about 10 different LOCKDOWN crafts - jewellery, sewing, embroidery, glue art, bead pictures, cooking, painting, gardening, AND NOW I HAVE FOUND YOU. Good one Gilly! I love the parts you blew out with the straw, and all those cells & lacing. Beautiful.... blow,blew. Blown -heck with it, INFLATED WILL WORK. LOL. The whole things reminds me of an illustration from a children’s book full of gnomes and caries.
