Best Expert MTB trail in Hurricane, UT - South Rim

The South Rim trial in Hurricane, Utah is one of my "all-time" favourite trails. I have ridden this trail over and over during the past 8 years because it's such a fabulous, scenic, physical and periodically technically challenging trail. And the slickrock type terrain around the regions namesake "gooseberry" mounds makes the trail all that more special and unique. This trail should be on your "to-do" list if you are in Hurricane.

One of my all time favorite rides anywhere. Riding and camping on Gooseberry is just sublime.

I've done the North Rim at Gooseberry but not the South Rim. Your video is inspiring me to try the South Rim on my trip next month! Thanks for a video that gives a good feel for what the trail is like!

I think if you can ride everything on North Rim, then you can ride South Rim, but it will be a little more physically tiring. Thanks for watching!

Great video as usual. A tip is to ride in anticlockwise direction, we did that and it was really nice flowy feeling of the whole lap. Going back in early april so will ride it again soon, so stoked!

Yes, I have also concluded that riding the loop anticlockwise, where the South Rim segment is done going east and downhill is better. But then you also have to ride either North Rim, Secret trail or White Road uphill accordingly. Regardless, Gooseberry is sweet! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video as well! Excellent footage and you show that even the grey haired guys can pull this off! Nice! What pressures did you run in your tires? I am wondering with the slickrock if higher pressures would work best?

Yup, grey hair or no hair isn’t a problem! I run 20lbs…you will roll better with higher pressure but I like the more supple feel and traction of 20lbs. Thanks for watching!
