I like finnish people mentality and culture. I want to learn more about Finland. I'm interested to make a PHD in 2021 in Machine Learning and I'd like to move in Finland or another Scandinavian country. I'd like know Finnish people and make friends there. Finnish people don't smoke tobacco smoke so much like italians ? And honesty, trust and safe is real important for me, is the same in Finland ?? I'm very atypical Italian because I'm full Asperger, so total different from 99.99% of people. I have difficult to lie, I have hypersensitive with all 5 senses in particular smells, noises and strong light; I need to stay alone part of my time because too much people give me sick. I love camping and excursions in the nature, I care privacy and I'm not interested in small talk to know people privacy. I love solve problem so much, innovation and technology. I'm perfectionist because I need make the best job any time, most effective and most quality. Finnish people or Scandinavian is similar at me ?

I've made a blog post about Befriending a Finn, you might like it: herfinland.com/make-finnish-friends/ I'm excited for you to consider Finland for your PHD studies. In Finland, nature is always around you. Smoking is getting less and less popular. In 2017, 10-13 % Finns smoked daily (here's the info in detail: thl.fi/fi/web/alkoholi-tupakka-ja-riippuvuudet/tupakka/tupakointi-suomessa/aikuisvaeston-tupakointi). Innovation, technology and problem-solving are definitely important themes in Finnish work life.

Yes! I definitely recommend it. There are so many great features there and it is fantastic for standard Finnish but not spoken Finnish. It's good to learn both though!

Hi! A great question. It's used both in formal and in spoken context. I call my hubby 'rakas'. If you're looking for a more spoken language nickname, "kulta" is popular.
