I think he gives more importance to consistency than he does to titles. Thats why he said Man Utd was the best in the 2000s eventhough pep's barca is arguably the greatest club side of all time. Utd were consistently the best in the prem and won a ucl as the cherry on top, while fcb were only as dominant as they were 2006 onwards. In the same way, fcb entered the 2010s as arguably the greatest club side ever, dominated the league against a very formidable Madrid, and won a ucl, while Madrid only became dominant after 2015, and they were only better than fcb till 2018 when cr7 left.

A level you need to have of consistency to win a treble is much harder.

Well... how often did Bayern Munich beat Barca or Real Madrid in the 2010s Champions League Campaing? They failed to get past Real in 2018, 17, 14 Atletico Madrid in 16 and Barca in 15... Santos was actually touring through Europe after winning the Libertadores 2 times so they didn’t participate in 5 of the Libertadores editions that decade, they had a memorable team lead by Pelé and were smashing teams here in Europe, Peñarol took Libertadores more seriously, that’s why they won 3 during that decade. Who were the best Peñarol players at the time? I doubt they get half the recognition that the Santos players who won the World Cup 3 times as well get.

My point was that only a Peñarol fan would be so biased to deny that Santos was the bet team during the 60s, it gets even worse when you say that it’s just because of Pelé, he was obviously the main player, but more than half of that team played for the Brazilian national team who also won the World Cup.

River Plate had a wonderful team specially the forwards called the "Machine" formed by Munoz, Moreno ( people of the time said he was better than Pele or Maradona) Pedernera, Labruna and Lousteau. They were champions in 1941, 1942, 1945 and 1947. The best team ever in Argentina.

Grande Torino led by their captain Valentino Mazzola, father of Sandro, were basically the Italian national team until the tragic event in 1949.
