Never saw this staff in action before, but summoned creatures are HUGE. Extra actions and hp on the board for you!

I suspect the biggest thing hindering its popularity is that it can break. DMs don't want to give out a cool item just for it to be lost and players don't want to request an item they can lose. I can see the validity of these feelings, especially the latter; but I think that the DM should feel free to give it out for that same reason. It's a borderline consumable object in some regards.

Yes that makes perfect sense. I was distraught when mine broke, but that’s the gamble I played! And I agree, that chance of it breaking is a great reason to give it out as the dm!
