mine didn't work anything like that. videos that assume everything works are terrible tutorials. you need to show how to set it up and what to do if it doesn't work

super helpful video, bud! i have K12 and its a bit overwhelming really digging into it now that i finally have other projects caught up, and this is exactly the video walkthru i needed to start understanding things on more than just a haze of confusion. Thank you very much for releasing this and pointing out the free software packages from Native Instruments as I have to agree, they really do have a fantastic selection of free software in this suite. Its great to have a video i can come back to and refresh myself from time to time on the very basics of the software and its applications to differing aspects of production. I was doing my head in after installing Komplete Start, but unfortunately began by installing the Expansions Selection and wondering why I couldn't see anything appearing in the library. Late and tired I gave up, and then searched YT for some help, bingo your video explains that Expansions is a bit different to all the other instrument packs (just my luck I chose to do this first!), where I need to use a Komplete Kontrol then select either the Loops/One-shots icons to find the stuff loaded by the Expansions Selection. Thanks to your tutorial all the other parts of Komplete Start also now make much more sense as to how they operate. I'll give it another go tomorrow with a fresh head and install some of the synths plugins, etc as well.

This is such a good video. I just subbed!! I wanted to get into NI but it seemed so heavy to get into. I think I will just use the basic stuff like the free options. Those are just fine for me. Thanks for this.

Been a Kontakt user for just over a year now and I did not know about the just drag a new instrument over the currently loaded one to replace it. Literally I've ben griping about why Kontakt just keeps chain loading instruments instead of just replacing them. 👍🏾

Hi Jef, thanks for this video Question: once you found a sound or synth patch, do you keep the access through Komplete, and sometimes Komplete/Kontakt, or do you use it directly in the track? My feeling is that it’s quite CPU consuming. Your advice ?

Jef, do you have any tutorials on how to use the reason rack effects with another contact instrument? Or let's say I have any track in Cubase and I want to apply reason rack effects to it. Is this possible? And you have a tutorial for it by chance?

Komplete Kontrol A61 Keyboard not working in VST Instruments(Halion Sonic SE3) and also komplet kontrol software also not working inside Nuendo 11. Komplete Kontrol A61 Keyboard working fine in Halion Sonic and komplete kontrol software as Standalone Application, But not in Nuendo as a plugin, pls help

I would say spitfire labs is by far the best free library, but this comes second for sure.

I have a MIDI keyboard as well as a MIDI drum pad. I set the MIDI input channel of the track to all channels and all devices. But some instruments will not be triggered by my MIDI keyboard but be triggered only by the MIDI drum pad. Is there a setting I have to change so all the instruments can be triggered by both the drumpad and the MIDI keyboard? Thank you. I also get the message box that say "Zebra2 could not be loaded" for most of the instruments in the Komplete Kontrol. Why is that? Thank you.

I found this video confusing until I realized it doesn't accurately describe Komplete Start. Some the things accessed in this video are not included in the free download.

Perhaps it might work with the free version of contact, but some VST don't and when I see such 'free' library that requires a full ver. of Kontakt ... just laughable.

Don't install this garbage, you will regret it. This is the "Windows Genuine Advantage" of native instruments.

this software is fucking annoying

So much to drool over but too much but a slow workflow with too many actions to do simple things. Eg; loading a drum kit from scratch takes some work in Kontakt but in normal DAWs it’s much easier. Software for I.T gurus.
