I thought this was a parody of award shows I've never heard of the hoodie awards...When they cut to the audience on Mr. Wallace's first joke it was irritating to see the few that were so above it all they weren't laughing especially the bald woman, some people just want to be miserable. When he talked about the health care bill I laughed so hard I cried (getting a pap smear lol 😁)!!

Fried chicken is a classic American food - enjoyed by folks here, and all around the world. Don't speak ignorance because this is an African American awards show. It also acknowledges small and family owned businesses, Carey's being just one of them. I love fried chicken. :)

You say that but too many black people, my people, get offended when it is brought up that we like fried chicken. The problem is the negative stereotypes that have been associated with eating fried chicken and blacks. So to have a category for "Best Fried Chicken" is a mockery of us and what we stand for. Now fried chicken is something that is enjoyed world over by many brothers and sisters from various races, religions and ideologies. Fried chicken shouldn't be seen just as a "black thing."

I have to say as much as I love the comedy and to see local folks get awards, the humour and organization is unprofessional. It's sad to see Harvey and certain other comedians on categories over the years treat it like a comedy roast and dish out personal insults and vulgar behaviour. Steve also struggles to hide his nasty feelings towards "regular folk". This is why it wasn't televised. Steve knows that if it was, the network and the FCC would demand a proper production team, rehearsal and editing.

I'm a black man, and I think this is ghetto as hell. I don't think there is anything wrong with having an award show geared toward black people and the things that mean the most to us, and I didn't see this award show, so it is entirely possible that I'm talking out of my ass here. But if the whole show was about handing out awards like this, it only sends up and perpetuates stereotypes that other races use to mock us. And then we have the nerve to get offended when they do. That's sad.

Oscars Emmys SAG are all predominately white awards. Now if you actually paid attention you would notice that nothing about this award show mention race. It amazes me that the "anti racism" people are always first to point out race.

I doubt billions are spent but I get what you are trying to say. Saying that no one should complain about something like this disqualifies us from ever having something to say about what we see as wrong. For every dollar that is spent outside of our "community" there is a dollar spent to uplift it. This ridiculous award about "best fried chicken" is a joke and perpetuate the negative stereotypes that is placed on us.
