5 жыл бұрынRosie and Jude are so dedicated to their looks that they've completely split their house in two. Rosie is a lolita doll, obsessed with all things pastel and kitsch, while Jude loves the goth look and will only wear black.
The pair, who live in London, have made sure that each side of their home is decorated to match their personality and aesthetic, from pastel pink walls and kitsch toys, to blackout curtains and a sword - even their toothpaste matches their style.
It has taken them years to develop their styles, and although they look very different a lot of influence for both of them comes from Japanese fashion.
Rosie is especially influenced by lolita fashion and cute Japanese characters and toys.
While their styles may look extreme they don't do it for attention but say they just do it to express themselves.

There's a lot of misconception in the comments bit this is what ACTUALLY happened: Basically Rosie and Jude were both tired of being thought as the Goth and Lolita (she's not a lolita!!) As though they're one person and not two different people. They slowly drifted apart and they came to a mutual desicion of not living together anymore. It has nothing to do with drugs. Yes, rosie started doing drugs but nothing illegal and that's not the reason they no longer live together. Theyre still friends, just less close. That's basically it :)

I am a lolita and a melanie martinez fan myself and I can say she hasn't worn a full lolita coord anytime in her life(a lolita coord is basically a full, head-toe lolita outfit and not just lolita inspired accessories and such). Lolita dresses also have a certain silhouette. It's either bell-shaped or A-line. A bell shaped skirt is round and is most wide at the knees. A-line skirts are longer and less round. Search these two types of skirts to avoid confusion. Lolita has also laws for dressing modestly. Your outfit can't be too sexy, uour shoulders have to be covered, you can't show your cleavage or belly and most of the time you ajve to even cover your thighs. Mel doesn't always follow this criteria, as shown in her music video, the bakery or high school sweet hearts. Mel has neither the silhouette nor is she modest in her way of dressing for her outfits to be lolita. Although some of her dresses can be styled as lolita like for example her show and tell dress, it doesn't have enough accessories nor is the dress detailed enough. Accessories are important for lolita fashion too. Lolita is inspired by rococo and the k12 school seems to be in a very rococo style but that still doesn't make her a lolita.

Am i the only one who's absolutely STUNNED by their make-up skills and the determination the put on everything ?! I mean look at their make up. You can tell they have payed attention to every single detail and that they actually put a lot of effort on what they like and love. I was apart of the community and left when I realised some are actually just into beastiality and they use cartoon animals to hide it. I wouldn’t even support the family friendly community part because it’s a gateway to abusing animals. It is a fetish for more people than just the kids who want to draw anthropomorphic dogs and cats.

I also love the term weird lol when someone calls me weird I say thank you. It just shows you're indeed different and not like everyone else. Bothers me that they label Rosie as a lolita when she is not shown wearing lolita at all. Maybe she wears it sometimes (so it might not technically be wrong to say she's a lolita, I did see Angelic Pretty's Cotton Candy Shop among her clothes), but people who don't know about it will see this and think that what she is wearing is lolita when it's a different style.

Both of these people, along with others, have inspired me to take action in expressing myself even more than I already did. Being able to find things online that fit my aesthetic, and meeting people who are into the same things just fills me will absolute joy! Even if you may feel too shy to wear "crazy" things out in public, don't be afraid to experiment with little things like decoration or phone backgrounds! Once you find your aesthetic, it's like an energy boost. Being around things that you like will put you in a better mood and brighten your day. I highly recommend going for whatever interests you! (as long as no one is hurt, of course)

There's a lot of misconception in the comments bit this is what ACTUALLY happened: Basically Rosie and Jude were both tired of being thought as the Goth and Lolita (she's not a lolita!!) As though they're one person and not two different people. They slowly drifted apart and they came to a mutual desicion of not living together anymore. It has nothing to do with drugs. Yes, rosie started smoking but nothing illegal and that's not the reason they no longer live together. Theyre still friends, just less close. That's basically it :)

Not trying to offend anyone, I love their style and I think they both are pretty courageous and cool, I for one wouldn't be confident enough to out like that. However, I don't want to nitpick or whatever, but ... I wouldn't call her a "Lolita", as the term generally comes from the JP fashion, and she doesn't really have the main assets of what one would generally consider "lolita", such as a petticoat. Not to mention, a lot of the girls in the lolita community hate being called "living dolls" and other such terms... I almost feel like the media is looking for that shock factor of "dolls" and the term "lolita" from the book and whatnot, whereas the actual fashion itself is about modesty as one of the key factors. I really don't mean any harm but just trying to clear it up for anyone interested ^^

That’a not Lolita, that’s fairy kei. Lolita follows the Victorian era “bell silhouette” and in actual Lolita groups her coord would be considered “ita Lolita” or “painful Lolita”. Lolita is found in Angelic Pretty, BTSSB and Atelier Pierrot among others.
