Over the past 4 months, I’ve put the Fujifilm X-H2 through its paces - I’ve taken it to the top of snow-capped mountains and desert-like environments. I’ve used it to shoot landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and astro. I’ve shot it at sunrise, sunset…and everything in between. I’ve paired it with new Fujinon lenses, old Fujinon lenses and non-Fujinon lenses!
In this video, I share my thoughts on the X-H2 - what I like about, what I don’t and whether it might be for you.

I bought the XH2 on pre order. Coming from an XT3, yes there was a bit of a learning curve, but honestly I love it. Once I got the hang of the pasm dial I was off and running. I use 6 of the 7 custom settings. Each with a different film sim and bouncing between manual and ap. All that being said i love mine. I do not regret it at all. The photo's this body takes are amazing!

Hey Valerie 👋, I just upgraded from an xt3 to the Xh2, it was a bit different to start with but the more I use it the more I love it! I mostly shoot astro in NZ and print large and I was worried about 40mp... the solution is DXO pure Raw 2, it is amazing and far superior to topaz, I have been quite happy with the camera so far. I also shoot landscape and wildlife, I find the auto focus very good once settings are dialed in.

Thanks for your comments - really appreciate them 🙏🙏 Great to hear that you're enjoying the XH2. At the time it was released, DXO wasn't yet compatible and couldn't read the raw RAF files - otherwise I would have signed up for that instead! I'm guessing it's compatible now - that's handy to know. Agree, I've found the AF to be pretty good most of the time...I just wish it's closer to perfect 😄

Hi Valerie, really excellent review and answered all the questions I needed as I am in the same predicament as you at the moment. New de-noise software seems amazing especially DXO. Hands down incredible, and so much better than the previous version and Topaz! Yes, the low light performance could be much better but I think it's something I can tolerate for now... But the AF really needs a some more work! Otherwise, I do love Fujifilm and I think you'll really enjoy the XT5 😊

Hands-down the best X-H2 review I've seen. Real-world, balanced and with a good focus on both usage and results. I've just sent one back to Fujifilm after a 3-week evaluation. I have a GFX50R and was wondering about moving back to an X-T5 (couldn't get hold of one for evaluation). Most of my shots are astro, moonlit landscapes or blue hour. I was really interested in your comment about the noisy LCD in low light. This is a major pain for me on the 50R and I found the X-H2 much, much better. I can only assume the 50R is even worse than your experience, or my X-H2 arrived with different settings. (I have turned off exposure and white balance preview on the 50R. It helped, but not by much). Certainly one of my take-aways from using the X-H2 was "great, it doesn't have that LCD problem"! I did have the luxury of borrowing a GF 20-35 over the winter and I have to say that night sky images captured with that and the 50R are unsurpassed by anything the X-H2 was able to achieve. But the size and weight of the GFX system is a major pain, even with the relatively lightweight 50R (not to mention the cost). As you say in the video, and as @TimescapephotographyNZ mentions below, the latest AI-based noise reduction packages are a godsend. I use DXO Pure Raw 2. Adobe's Super-Resolution is also very effective, and possibly reduces the need for those extra MPs. Greetings from Scotland!
@ValerieMisaPhotography
@ValerieMisaPhotography Жыл бұрын
Hello Mark, hope all is well in Scotland and many thanks for your kind comments 🙏🙏 It was great to hear your thoughts and experiences with the 50R and XH2. So you've no longer got the XH2? Without the exposure and WB preview setting turned off, my LCD screen was simply unviewable, even at a relatively low ISO of 2000 at night. I'd never had this issue with my XT4 and wonder if the XT5 might be the same... or perhaps I've got a problematic model, as I've also noticed a lot more hot pixels in my lowlight images than on my XT4. I've long been curious about Fujifilm's medium format cameras - the resolution and details they capture are superb. I imagine astro and nightscape images on the 50R would be amazing! But you're spot on - the hefty weight and size of the GFX system is a concerning factor for me, as well as the limited lens options. I did favour DXO over Topaz, and based on your experience and those of others, I'm regretting that I don't have it! But DXO didn't support XH2 files at the time it was released... So I had no choice. I'm looking forward to the release of DXO Pure Raw 3, which will provide greater support for Fujifilm X trans files. Cheers 🙂

@@ValerieMisaPhotography Hi Valerie, Fuji wanted to do one their "X-stories" features on my night sky work, including an evaluation of the new GF 20-35, so they signed me up for their pro loan scheme, which gives me up to a month's free loan of any product. That's how I got hold of the X-H2. I too found that DXO wouldn't handle my X-H2 files, but there was an update available, which fixed it. It's still Pure Raw 2, rather than 3. Maybe that hadn't been released when you were trying DXO. I am puzzled by that LCD issue. As I said, I've experienced it with the 50R, so I know exactly what you're talking about. But I certainly didn't see it on the X-H2. I was chatting about it to a guy on the Fujifilm stand at last week's Societies of Photographers convention in London. He does a bit of astro and knows the GFX range well. he certainly didn't recognise the problem I was describing on the 50R. Maybe I too have a dodgy one!

nice video 🙂 Only last week I swapped my lovely X-T5 for an X-H2. I've shot X-T cameras since the X-T2 so do miss the retro design language, but I swapped for an important reason so have to get over that. unfortunately sue to failing health I was struggling majorly to hand hold my X-T5, particularly with the 100-400mm lens. so, I needed something with a larger grip, and I have to say the X-H2 makes it so much easier to hold the camera. another massive bonus is the EVF - it's worth the "upgrade" for that alone. I used to shoot a GFX100 with the same EVF (I think) and don't think I could now go back to a lower resolution one. thanks for your hard work putting the video together 🙂

Many thanks for your comments and feedback 🙏 I suspect it wasn't easy making the swap, but it seems like it was the right decision for your needs, which I think is what matters most at the end of the day👍 The 100-400 is a superb lens, but definitely not light and you'd rather not be missing out on sharp shots with all that quality glass, especially if you can help it! I hope you're enjoying your XH2 and your photography 🙂📸

First time viewer…really well articulated and demonstrated on your reasoning thank you! Subscribed! :) (FYI, your voice in the video bounces around a bit between L/R/C. At 13:10, it seems to be hard-panned left. The preceding audio is center, and most headshots seems to be panned slight left of center. Might be good to just sum your audio track to mono then you don't have to worry about stereo pan. Headphones are a great way to check stereo panning since it's more pronounced.)

Hi Valerie! Great review. As I would agree for Landscape/nature/wildlife photographers to get the XH2 the other option is just to get the X-T5 and save a couple hundred to invest in lenses. The only reason i'd recommend the XH2 is if you do video as well as photography. But even then. The XH2s if you're "serious?" I guess about video is a better investment. The XH2 is in quite a weird spot i'd honestly say. The XT5 is a plenty capable video camera but in my use case I wanted uncropped 4k 60 and an optional 4k 120. Open gate as well is only available on the XH2s which I absolutely adore for repurposing video/reframing and gathering the max amount of detail in the 6.2k mode since it has no crop. If you purely would like hybrid, I'd say forget the megapixels and think about the features instead, was my opinion on going with the XH2s.
@ValerieMisaPhotography

Many thanks and appreciate your thoughts 🙏🙏 It wasn't easy choosing between the XH2 and XH2S, but for me, the deciding factor was the higher MP - which I needed most. But agree with you, the XH2S is a much better hybrid and just has better speed and performance. I think if I could have waited for the XT5, I may have bought that instead 🤔 But I often try not to have buyer's remorse! Give everything a real chance 🙂

Great, objective, well paced review that is more helpful than any other. I want to stay with Fuji for their colours, functionality ,and smaller form. My main issue is that when I look at their recommended zooms to maximize this sensor, they are larger and heavier than Canon or Nikon constant 4.0 equivalent focal range. I don’t need fast zooms for landscapes but Fuji basically forces us to use them. The size weight advantage is lost-unless I use Fuji primes.
@ValerieMisaPhotography
@ValerieMisaPhotography Ай бұрын
Really appreciate your comments Marc, and I'm glad you found the video helpful 🙏🙂 You make quite a good point about about Fuji's recommended lenses to best resolve the new sensor. Hopefully their lens roadmap will include smaller and lighter zooms in time. Although not on their recommended list, I found the 10-24mm v2 paired really well with the XH2 and to be honest, I couldn't see any material differences in IQ between that and the 18mm f/1.4 (a recommended lense). Cheers 👍📸

Hi Valerie loved your clear concise review and I actually loved your voice and found it soothing. Although a lovely cameraI don’t think the XH2 is really for me as I’m entering the Fuji system to get away from DSLR style cameras and am looking for a compact retro style and light weight camera ultimately I will purchase an XT5 and an XT30ii for their styling, size and weight then I think I’ll be complete. One thing that has made my photography dormant over the past couple years has been lugging around big DSLR body any the big lenses to go, so looking for a minimalist setup up with just a couple of the old small Fuji prime lenses and eventually maybe one zoom I mainly like to shoot portrait, some street/candid, occasional landscape & travel.

One of the reasons I was drawn to the Fuji X-Tx cameras was the similarity to film cameras with simple shutter, aperture, ISO dials. I have never liked making these changes with command dials or getting to them in the menus. If it was possible to get the custom options without losing these dials, I would be really happy. For me, having seven custom options readily available on the X-H2 is very nice and separation of video settings from single image settings is also very useful.

Couldn't agree more - having all the exposure dials and custom settings dial would be the best of both worlds! While I miss the tactile functionality of the XT4, I have grown to really like the 7 custom settings dial. It's very handy to quickly switch between settings - you just need to have them memorised! Thank you so much for this comprehensive review. I have been considering the X-H2 for a while now. I presently have the X-H1 that was not very popular, but I love the ergonomics and difference in weight from my old Canon 5D-MKIII and lenses. The information you provide about noise really bothers me - I understand it's with a very high ISO of 10,000 that I would not really use, but your 2nd example at ISO 2,000 in low light is making me think twice about this choice - wondering if I should not stick with the H-2S for that reason only - as I would otherwise appreciate the cropping possibilities with the larger sensor (but not at the expense of increased noise to that degree). And as much as I love Topaz, I don't want to process each image for noise! Am I right to think this way?
@ValerieMisaPhotography
@ValerieMisaPhotography 3 ай бұрын
Many thanks for your comments Philippe 🙏 My honest opinion is that I wasn't too happy with the low light performance on the XH2, and despite reading a lot of articles which didn't raise too much of an issue about the noise level, I found this to be perhaps the biggest downside. While I can put up with more noise for wildlife/birding given the high SS often used, I was surprised about the level of noise in a lot of my landscape photos. If your preference is not to use denoising software, I think the XH2 is probably not good for you. Unless being able to crop deeply is more important for you, the XH2S might be the better option. I can understand it's always difficult weighing the pros and cons! Hope that helps and good luck! 👍🙂📸

I’m in Love, new subscriber, been looking at getting back to a new camera as last one was SLR 35 film camera and only used smart phone to take all my shots and videos, I was looking at Sony for the stabilisation as think they have nailed it but I can compromise for ASP-C as has 40mp so cropping is not to heavy on pixel loss, this and the XH2S have lovely colours, how does it compare to say a Sony A7111 as also on my short list. I was looking at full frame but APS-C has better reach and cheaper and the quality is almost as good and coming from a smart phone is still going to blow away the tiny sensors. Hi Valerie, thanks for a great video. I looked at the noise comparison that you tried and I see that you're already pushing the exposure 3 1/2 stops before you apply the noise reduction. Maybe having it exposed longer to the light you have could help with the noise. I have noticed that on my X-T4.

Thanks for your comment Akshay 🙏 I think you're referring to the Wanaka Tree example? I'd intentionally pushed up the exposure to better show the noise and hot pixels, but my final edited image didn't need to push the exposure anywhere near that far. I'd used the NPF rule in Photopills which suggested 8 secs exposure was about right to avoid noticeable star trails. Agree with you that maybe it could have been a bit longer, but that would have come at the expense of star trails... Maybe a star tracker is the answer! 👍

I have X-T3 for photography and X-T4 that I use mainly for video. My both cameras are equipped with the battery grip. I just love the ergonomics that I get with the battery grip and the extra battery life it delivers. I just love using these cameras! I see no need to upgrade to X-T5 or X-H2. 26 megapixels is more than enough for me. I heard there is no battery grip available for X-T5 and I find the camera not ergonomically good. X-H2 seems to be ergonomically better than the X-T5, but I see very little extra value it would deliver to me when I compare it to my X-T3 and X-T4 with the battery grip.

The XT3 and XT4 are fantastic cameras that still hold their own weight, so I totally understand your points. My XT4 still serves me very well, and it's such an enjoyable camera to use. You shouldn't upgrade for the sake of it - hang on to your hard earned cash and only upgrade where it makes sense for you to do so 👍 Sounds like your current setup gives you what you need to keep enjoying your photography and videography. Agree with the noise. It’s maybe on par with the XT4 but a bit worse. I shoot live music often at 6400 ISO. Topaz DeNoise is great but sometimes the detail is lost. I find re introducing grain in Lightroom can help bring the detail back.

In hindsight, I think you're right that the noise is a little worse than the XT4. I've found that if I'm careful with Topaz Denoise settings (I recommend selecting "add back details"), it's quite effective in reducing noise without comprising much on details. But all in all, the less work we need to do in post to reduce noise, the better! Thanks for your comments 🙏🙂

I also am enjoying your "Aussie" accent (with perhaps a bit of Asian in there), it's so pleasant to listen to! I'm about to order my XH2, and upon checking out the firmware updates it looks like with version 3.0 they've added the ability to set the ISO with the FRONT COMMAND dial. Great, level headed honest review, thanks. I am lazy i shoot mostly jpg+raw and only process raws when printing or sharing. The x-h2 is my first new fuji after my x20 and to be honest i only got it after i brought a second hand x-e1 and was curious about where newer xtrans sensors had gone. The default jpegs above 800 were horrible, reminiscent of EPWC (early panasonic water colours) until i dialed down NR to -4. Now upto 800 are amazing and 3200 very usable. Glad your camera survived its couple of falls. I had a friend whoms H2 did not survive a light rain storm so i hope the shift away from made in japan does not make the environmental sealing a lottery. Anyway thanks for the review. Happy to sub. Ps modern autofocus is a god send, but some of my best nature shorts were on a K5 with manual focus m42 Consina lenses, so it can be done. @ValerieMisaPhotography
@ValerieMisaPhotography Жыл бұрын
Hi Catherine, I did have LE noise reduction on, but I didn't take any dark frames. I'm aware of taking as many black/dark shots as you do for normal shots and then stacking the images to reduce noise, but I didn't know that it also works for hot pixels. Thanks for the tip, and I'll definitely give that a go next time. Thanks for your comments 🙏🙏
@catherinegrimes2308
@catherinegrimes2308 Жыл бұрын
@@ValerieMisaPhotography I thought that the long exposure noise reduction (LENR) was very similar to taking a dark frame and subtracting it. Astronomers don't use LENR because it doubles the time to take a frame. They take a reasonable number and add them to the stacking process. If you have a hot pixel, it will be hot on the light and the dark frames any by subtracting the dark frame you should remove its effect. Maybe something else is going on? Maybe take a photograph using LENR, then one without LENR and a dark frame. You could compare the one with LENR and the one without LENR, then subtract the dark from from the image without LENR and compare the result with the photograph with LENR. That might give a clue as to what is going on.

Hi there, it's highly recommended that you use the new range of Fujinon lenses with the XH2, as these are in theory, meant to be able to resolve the higher MP much better, and focus faster. Fuji has a list of recommended lenses. However, I didn't really see any noticeable difference in IQ when I paired it with some of my older lenses. For landscapes, I used the new 18mm f1.4 (superb lens), and the older 10-24mm f4 WR (v2) which was still fantastic. Other great lenses include the red badge lenses: 16-55mm f2.8, and 50-140mm f2.8. I suppose it all depends on what you mainly shoot and your budget! There are some excellent quality and value third party lenses (Viltrox, Sigma and Tamron) to also consider. Enjoy your research! 🙂👍📸

At times I think of going back to Nikon for FF and light gathering but I see great results and enjoy the Fuji. And have two red badge lenses that are just fantastic! I want a second camera body so I don’t have to keep changing Lenses. I have read so many reviews on the XH2 and the XT5. The xt5 body is even smaller than the 4. I don’t like that. It would be nice to have more MPs. I may just wait and see what Fuji does next! Or buy a used xt4! Any thoughts or comments from xt5 users appreciated.

Hi Eileen, I'm glad you found my channel and thanks for your comments 🙏🙂 I wanted a higher MP camera for my trip to New Zealand and the XT5 hadn't been released at the time. While the specs on the XH2 and XT5 are quite similar, the XH2 does have better performance in terms of eg AF and buffer rate - which helps with wildlife photography, which is also what I enjoy. But I've heard a lot of XT5 owners love their cameras and if your main interest is landscapes and you enjoy the tactile functionality of the XT4, then you probably don't need more than what the XT5 offers. I still use my XT4 for videos and when I feel like a simple and relaxing shoot - it's just quite fun to use. Hope that helps and keep getting out there and enjoying your photography 🙂👍

@@Lucidexplore because XT series is more fun…with battery grips it’s easy to build up/ strip down the camera for bigger lenses or for occasions where a little more portability is needed. No, I don’t use the dials ALL the time but they do come in handy and can lock…unlike the command dials. The XH series has a great grip but has some weird ergonomic quirks. Fuji should have considered making the XT5 the XH2…flagship “photography” camera, and let the XH2S be the beast it is. Instead they decided the XT5 should lose the grip option and some of the build quality. Still a great camera though.

@@ValerieMisaPhotography thank you so much for responding. Are you able to grip the camera, and does it feels secure in your hand? Reason for me asking is I just recently went to a Camera store to look at the canons and they did not feel secure. It as if you had to have a big hand in order to hold on to the camera correctly? There was a recent update in May that dealt with AF. Have you been able to upload that and if so, have you noticed any improvement? From what I can gather XT-5 is a camera that is geared more towards photography, but I believe more for still photography, then for bird and wildlife.

@@mden2490 I think the ergonomics of the XH2/XH2S is the best of all Fujifilm cameras and a lot of people will agree. The grip is deep and the camera rests nicely in your palms - it feels really balanced. I think you'll find it comfortable and won't have an issue with holding it at all. In terms of AF, I honestly can't say I've seen a huge improvement. It has probably picked up focus and locked on a little better for stationary subjects and when the scene's not busy, but otherwise I'm not sure I can say the AF update is anything to write home about! I recommend you watch Pal2tech's review on the AF update - he has tested it more extensively than me and has seen good results. Valerie... you may well know this (probably do), but before sending a noisy image to DeNoise from Capture One (or any other software), be sure that there is ZERO sharpening or noise reduction applied; no color noise reduction, no hot pixel fixes-nothing. And, also ensure there is no grain being applied, something that C1 does to higher ISO Fuji files by default. If you don't completely disable everything in the details tab of C1, DeNoise is not nearly as effective at ridding images of noise.

Hi Brenton, many thanks for your comments 🙏 I'd thought it was better to remove hot pixels fixes before denoising and wasn't aware that the grain affect automatically applied would impact the effectiveness of denoising. I'll definitely test this out - thanks. I will highly recommend that you make chromatic aberration/defringing adjustments first though, as once denoised, I've found these are effectively baked in and are very difficult to correct. Cheers 🙂👍

@@ValerieMisaPhotography Thanks for the tip on CA/defringing. That reminded me of another detail and caveat to my original suggestion. I was working with some 6400 ISO and higher images that were quite underexposed when I actually, truly felt, for the first time, that I _needed_ Denoise (I don't mind noise in images that much). Bringing a RAW file in that condition into Denoise, however, is also a big no-no. It will remove the noise, but when the exposure is brought up afterwards it will look horrible; worse than if the noise was left. So, I brought up the levels to where they needed to be and sent a 16 bit tiff file, with nothing enabled on the details tab in C1, to Denoise. Denoise did a phenomenal job of cleaning up the noise, and I continued to tweak the returned tiff in C1, where I always fine that some grain should be added or the image doesn't look natural (but might depend on the images you are working with). I don't recall how much testing I did, but do know that I became convinced that _everything_ in the details tab of C1 needed to be zeroed out. I have not tested well exposed images in Denoise as RAW files. What is or isn't enabled in C1 in that case wouldn't matter.

Thanks Brenton, I'm glad you brought that up, because that has also been my experience. I suspect lifting up the exposure first aids the denoising software to better assess the noise level, especially in the shadows/underexposed areas and address them. I've similarly had some terrible results when I've lifted the exposure on some quite underexposed photos post-denoising. I'm definitely going to be more mindful of clearing the auto adjustments in C1 going forward. Thanks again for sharing! 👍🙂

I can with certainty say that you did that nightscape photo wrongly. You pushed the camera settings waay to far. Cant blame all noise on the camera. Even if you shoot at base Iso and raise the shadows you will get noise no matter the camera brand, since noise comes from lack light informations. 1. You have raised the shadows and Iso to far. A 1.4 though is fine but can you get all in focus? 2. You have highlights that set the limits for exposure. you cant have highlights and stars contrast in one shot. 3. Use a starstacking program that can seperate background with the stars and use stacking. Btw. did you a polarising filter, since you can see the stones in the water?

@ValerieMisaPhotography Жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for your thoughts. The photo's not perfect, and in hindsight I should have taken several shots so that I can stack them in Sequator (as I usually do) to reduce noise and star trails. But I was pressed for time here, so I didn't do that. But I don't believe that the image was incorrectly exposed by a great deal and I don't believe that I pushed the settings too far at all. This photo was taken at about 10:30pm in pitch black darkness. ISO was only 2000 (not high for an astro photo at all), and it was an 8 sec exposure. If you check the NPF rule (for example in Photopills), the recommended exposure is about 7.5 secs. Additionally, the only part of this image that was clipped was the light in the background - this was unavoidable. I don't use a CPL for astro - I want to get in as much light as possible and don't mind seeing the rocks in the water. Given my settings and my experience with the XT5, the level of noise here did surprise me.

@@ValerieMisaPhotography You must have raised the shadows quite a lot. 8 sec is not enough to get this bright image with that kind of noise. Usually at night you dont see through waters but just reflections, that is the reason I think it was with the polarise filter. I refuse to believe that that camera are that bad. I have it my self, so will try it myself.
@ValerieMisaPhotography
@ValerieMisaPhotography Жыл бұрын
My only change was to raise the shadows by 15, which isn't that high and I raised the exposure so that you can see the noise on your screens. That may have something to do with it 🤔 but the noise is quite bad regardless...

You cannot use old lenses on the new Fuji 40 megapixel camera. Do you have to use the 33 mm the new 56 to 18 mm you cannot use these old lenses on this new camera. It would not resolve the resolution or give you the sharpness that you need.

Hi Robert, I agree - you can't expect older lenses to be able to resolve the additional MP to its maximum capabilities on the XH2. That wouldn't be using the XH2 to its full potential. But I understand that it will still enhance the IQ of older lenses. Thanks for your comments 🙏👍

Hi there, thanks for your comment. The Fuji kit lens is definitely far from the sharpest lens, but I think a lot of people agree it's one of the best kit lens you can get. As for the image not being sharp at all, I respect that we all have different opinions, but respectfully I disagree. You can see a better resolution image on my website, and I think the sharpness is quite acceptable. It may not be tack sharp from front to back, but I think most people don't pixel peep and would find the sharpeness reasonable. And of course, resolution is not the same sharpness - its ability to resolve the 40MP to a reasonably pleasing standard surprised me.

A high megapixel sensor will never perform well in lowlight no matter what brand you shooting with
@ValerieMisaPhotography

I agree it will have smaller pixels compared to a lower MP camera with the same sensor, so low light performance shouldn't be as great. But if you compare high MP performance between different sensors/brands, that's where some will fare better than others. Thanks for your comment 🙏👍

It takes you a thousand years to dial in ISO in the field? You can't be serious with that comment. Can't take you seriously after that asinine statement. It might go a long way in explaining why you only have 3.6K subs.
@ValerieMisaPhotography
@ValerieMisaPhotography Жыл бұрын
Hi Bob, I was being sarcastic and making light of the fact that getting my ISO settings dialled in using the buttons is much slower than using the dedicated ISO dial. I think that's a fact that can't be denied and a design feature I missed from the XT4. I don't think anyone should take it literally and I try to see the humour in things - camera reviews can be quite dry if everything is so serious. If that upsets you, it's not my intention, and my videos aren't for you. In terms of my subs, you're too generous, as I only have 1.69k subs. But I've had my channel for less than 1 year, I'm monetized, and I've only made 24 videos, of which only 17 have been photography related. I think that's not a bad hit rate by a lot of standards. But that's not the point - I enjoy sharing my adventures and experiences with the aim of delivering quality and useful content. If you enjoy it, that's fantastic, and if not, that's ok. But I'll never stop having fun and some laughs along the way. Life's too short - smile and you'll enjoy it more! 😁👍

What I absolutely HATE about non-professional Mirrorless cameras are the design elements, ie they have 90 Degree hard edges and are EXCRUCIATINGLY linear with no curves; compare these flawed design elements to say the Cannon Eos 5D MKIV DSLR which has beautiful curves; the WORST of them all are Sony Mirrorless cameras; it's as if manufacturers no longer employ Industrial-Designers. Therefore irrespective of how great the XH2-S or the XH2 are, their body designs are ATROCIOUS

Yeah canon’s camera feel amazing. That said, I want to rip my eyes out when I look at them. Just hideous cameras. If they designed their bidies as well as Nikon, they’d be nice a balanced but canon makes the ugliest cameras on the market by far. Haven’t had any issues with my xh2 and I’ve got huge hands. And it’s definitely a professional camera, along with Sony’s cameras regardless of their terrible build

@@PSYCHIC_PSYCHO the R series cameras are the only decent looking ones imo! With the 5D being some of the least appealing Hahah opinions are something aren’t they? Which models are you speaking of when you say high end pro? Speaking of pro cameras, canon is the only company selling $6,000 cameras with micro hdmi ports; along with having the worst highlight dynamic range and log format in the industry. All about picking your poison nowadays. No reason the xh2s should have over a stop more dynamic range than the R5C, but that’s Canon for ya. They make more sales off being a big brand and new buyers that don’t know much better than actually being suitable for professional use.
