TommyKay, the BEST HOI4 PLAYER, plays the Endsieg mod! He's going to be playing both scenarios which include WW1 and WW2, but today we're going to be doing the easier of the 2, the WW1 scenario.
In this scenario Tommy will have to save Germany and the Kaiser who are in a very tough spot. With no supplies and equipment, surrounded by enemies and weak allies, Tommy will have to find a way to win before the USA lands in Europe and ends the reign of the Kaiser.
Endsieg is one of the hardest mods and challenges in Hearts of Iron 4, but we all know our favorite ginger can do what needs to be done.

@@diegoampuero5062 even if his story proves to be right, it is just a coincidence, as this part of our history isn't joked about or ignored. In most schools (mine too), we even had to visit a concentration camp and were taught about the horrible crimes commited by the nazis, and how they tried to hide them to them from the civilians living there. (Just in case you might think now that german people are ignoring or even making jokes about these horrible events)

I mean, tbh, Germany was far and away the only competent power on the Central Powers in WWI. They single handedly kept Austria propped up and in the war for 3.5 years, for example. But, it's a double edged sword. The reason the "stab in the back" narrative was so powerful in post war era in Germany is BECAUSE everyone knew they were the only competent power and held off 3 great powers all throughout the war (America replacing Russia after they dropped out) but also they exhausted themselves so much in doing so that if they didn't make peace in 1918 the entire country would have been torn apart in revolts. The thing that's least taught in school about post war Germany is for around 2 years after the Armistice the Weimar Government was doing nothing but running around putting down revolts by people who were pissed off about all their dead kids, anger about an unresponsive government that had been led by an inbred moron and that people were basically only eating shoe leather for the last year of the war. And the reason its not taught very much is that nobody wanted to humanize the revolutionaries because they were almost all Communists *shrug*

@@funnyname8283 No he meant that because Germany was doing so well in WW1, many soldiers and generals believed that they only lost because the german politicians, namely the SPD, stabbed them in the back. Because of that they were very confidant that they were going to win the next war, because the politicians couldn't "betray" them because Germany was a dictatorship now

@@engerkover6443 That's not really true. The failure of Operation Michael as well as the success of the allied 100 days offensive showed that the German army was no longer capable of fighting. If the war had continued the entry of the United States into the war combined with the failing German economy (Industrial Output was half of what it was in 1913) would have ended with the occupation of Germany. And that's not counting the revolutions that were occurring in Germany already. At the signing of the Armistice the Allies had 1.4 million men on the Front. Germany had only 800 thousand. The stab in the back theory originated because the German high command didn't want to admit to the public that they had been defeated (even though they knew it in private, multiple memos between German commanders prove that).

@@JdeMonster I'm sorry but i'm not really sure what you're trying to tell me. Are you saying that the stab in the back myth is not true? I know that, that's why i said that many soldiers and generals believed it, i never said that i believed it myself. Or are you saying that Germany wasn't doing well in WW1? Because i don't think that's true at all. Germany held the western front in a stalemate for 4 years, against the forces of France and England combined. On the eastern front, at least to my knowledge, Germany was on the offensive against Russia after the battle of Tannenberg for 3 years, until they capitulated because of the revolution. Yes, in 1918 the war was definetly lost and a continuation would've most likely let to occupation of Germany, which is why the political leaders signed the armistice. But the soldiers who fought in the trenches for 4 years didn't know that, that's how the stab in the back myth got so popular with veterans after the war.

4:07 just in case anyone cares yes Japan was in world war 1, they mainly joined to take German Chinese colony’s in Asia to further their own expansion, I don’t think any Japanese troops actually fought on any western front but I could be wrong in that regard

"Japan is in WW1?!" yes, yes they were they were on the Entente's side, not directly in the Entente but still allied with them, they captured a few german colonies in Asia (minor battles, not too many losses on each side) and helped with trade and supplies for the war effort. The more you know.

You should play either Random Country Placement, It randomizes population, resources, state placement, infrastructure and ideology, could be a nice mix up unfortunately all countries have default focus trees but could still be fun or Equestria at war, unironically one of the funnest mods on the workshop, completely new map, countries and almost all of them have a focus tree. Japan was friends with Britain so when the war started Japan took the islands and helped Britain mildly and at the conference room Japan was allowed to take all the stuff they stole from Germany.

4:20 yeah japan was in ww1 they declared war on germany early on and took all their pacific islands. Like norman said "it was germany against the rest of the world, and they almost won!!"

Far from almost - some would even say they never even had a change to begin with, but I digress. Germany's biggest weakness was diplomacy. Who knows what would have happened if they hadn't antagonized so many countries, like Italy, Russia or the USA?

@@fede98k54 did you mean to say "they never had a chance to begin with" because I strongly disagree with that statement. Germany could've never won ww2, but they certainly almost won ww1, they knocked one major threat on the continent which was russia. And they had a gigantic advantage in 1918. If it were not for the entry of America, the western front would've broken for sure.

@@eff_gee321 I said that there are some who would say that - and while I am more inclined to agree I don't think we can speak of what could have been in absolutes. Anyway, the diplomatic situation in 1914 was such that I believe the chances of Germany winning WW1, or at least achieving a total victory (defeat of both France and Russia) were very slim. Besides, I don't believe the Germans had a massive advantage in 1918 - they had regained the initiative yes, but only for a few weeks, and the Germans spent their last precious reserves against the unroutable allied armies. And while the Entente armies were confident, the germans were demoralized; where the allied stockpiles and stomachs were full the german population was starving; where the Entente war machine was running at full efficiency, fueled by the might of vast colonial empires and the largest economy in the world, german mobilization effort were lacklustre due to the lack of resources. And finally, where the Entente armies had plenty of access to airplanes, tanks, trucks, and nearly endless supplies of other means to wage modern war, the German army still relied on horses and foot. What hope of victory had the Germans by 1918? Not many, if I may say so. Even if they had, let's say, taken Amiens, splitting the BEF from the French army, and then pushed the BEF into the sea, and then broke through the french defences in the centre and then somehow taken Paris - the Entente wouldn't just sign a peace. They would reorganize and strike back against the exhausted and overstretched Germans, while they themselves become stronger by the day. In conclusion, what I mean to say is that wars are as fought on the battlefield as they are in the factories and in the shipyards: against the industrial might of the Entente, Germany had small hope of victory in the long run. The only realistic way, keeping the leadup to the war identical to RL, where I see the Central Powers win is if France is defeated in 1914 - something that was possible but far from probable.

@@fede98k54 I agree that we can't speak in absolutes, but I think your hindsight is pushing you to gravely underestimate the Kaiser reich. In 1914 germany stood unchallenged in europe. Granted they were surrounded, but their army had no peer in all europe. France couldn't resist their might and paris was an unstable political mess, Russia was a clumsy giant with a weak industry and internal problems, and england had a big navy but no army to challenge them on the continent. And unlike what you said, I am not only considering armies in here. If you look it up, the central power's industrial base was in par with the allied one if not superior. Granted they didn't have no food but they were well armed and organized and were going to win the war rapidly like they did so many times before. The only thing that hindered their victory was the UNEXPECTED developement of trench warfare which resulted in an attritional war. My point here is: just because we know germany lost, it does not mean they didn't have a chance to begin with. As for the 1918 situation, the germans have been fighting on 2 fronts and holding well, now that the first front was closed, it's only logical to think that they had an advantage, of course trench warfare does not favor the attacker and time wasn't on their side. But all those problems you mentioned were plaguing both sides. Imagine fighting an enemy that has been holding 2 fronts for 4 years, and now imagine that that same enemy won the other front and was going to descend on you with all it's might, that's how the french soldiers though in 1918, an enemy who was occupying vital coal mines and a large portion of you land. Now you are telling me the germans were the ones who were low on moral. They were multiple french mutinies and desertions in 1918 that say the opposite. All I'm saying here, we today know germany lost and that might blind our judgement and make us think that they had no chance. But the truth is, and this is supported by generals and economic experts alike, contemporary and modern, that germany had a good chance of winning.

@@fede98k54 Tbf Germany never antagonized Italy before WW1, far from it. The problem was Italy relations with Austria-Hungary, in fact Italy declared war only on Austria-Hungary in 1915 and only declared war on Germany a year later, which made its allies pretty mad at Italy and caused them to walk back on their promises to Italy after WW1 was won, which caused a sentiment of mutilated victory that grew into Fascism and you know the rest.

from my experience of this mod the best way to win is the basically recreate the maginot across the entire french border and create a second line on the Russians and defend like hell until you finish the ww1 land doctrine after which you go FULL BLITZ KRIEG AND TAKE PARIS because the french will focus on entrenching, build a lot of artillery and motorized so you can basically speedrun the french after their gone deal with Italy and finally Russia
