The first video on my new channel! The other videos will be moved here throughout the week. I'm going to re edit the Infinite Flight one though. But just stick with me setting up this channel. I'm not completely done with it yet but enjoy what this channel has to offer for the time being!
Back here with a another take off! This time on a ex-TWA American MD-83. This spot was fantastic and you can hear this JT8D's sing along!

To me It sounds like a 2 stroke at very high revs. Very unique sound.

Amazing video and sound!!!!! I flew on this exact bird, N965TW, in the exact same seat, 29F about 4 years after this video was taken! Also, I love that last-minute landing light extension right as the engines were spooling up!

That is so weird taking off to the east out of LAS. Every time I've been to Vegas, it's been a west arrival or departure.

OK I love planes, but just realized how unique this sound was during the 80s and 90s, I think I flew in DC-9s in Europe and the 737-200s in Asia. The new airliners are just tooOo quiet, heheheh

Great sound? Yes The best one? No I prefer the JT8D-1 series over the -200 series, they’re louder

I worked for Eastern for 16 years. JT8D is a great power plant. Will go down in aviation history as one of the best. But that seat on the MD80 is the worst ever seat. Riding on a C3 pass with a full plane i got that seat a lot.
