I don't hate the fact you can kill from one touch...I hate that the game gives the defender no way to stop it once it happens. KI at least gives you the ability to combo break and that game is ALL ABOUT massive combos that could kill you in one go IF you're ballsy enough to try.

^ i just point out ssbm, because of it's unique arena style, in which you have more control over where your character can move, and can also di/sdi out of combo's it's a really great concept that not many fighting games have, but i completely agree with you.

Why? Is one complete health bar some kind of substantive limit? Why are you more concerned with it being a complete health bar than what proportion of your total health in a match it is? And why is it not possible to balance that with it being a combo only possible in rare circumstances, only attainable via a risky hard read, the character that can do it having deficiencies elsewhere, etc.? A few characters in KOFXIII are capable of highest-level-match-practical Touch of Death combos, and most are capable of combos that do 80+% . However, these combos require full or almost full resources and are EXTREMELY long and execution-intensive. In addition, KOF works by picking a team of three characters, each with their own life bars of 1000 hit points each (KOF does not balance with life bars), so a ToD combo does at most a third of the amount of damage you will need to do to defeat your opponent's team (characters can recover health by winning a round, and the amount recovered depends on how much time is left on the round clock, ranging from 0 to 300 hit points). In SFV, where matches follow a best-2-of-3 format, the most damaging combos yet discovered land around the 600 mark. That's roughly the same proportion of total health in the match as the 80%-to-100% combos in KOF XIII, and they similarly require full resources. Why would you complain about KOF XIII's Touch of Death combos, but not SFV's 60+% combos? Think on that a little bit, my friend.

1 full life bar, is only 1/3 of your team... in Tekken you can do a lot more than 1/3 in 1 combo. Where would be the limit ? In SFxT you could do like 1/2 life bar of one of the 2 characters, so it's 1/4 of the Team's total health. Seems reasonable ?

Exactly, it's so much better to see people trying different things and actually thinking about what the opponent is going to do next but all that is dead because of these dumb long combos
