The smartphone app control is pretty cool. Connecting to the laser via bluetooth. My 330 2032 battery was dead upon arrival but had extras. The lines on this laser at 10ft are sharp. Going to check it at greater distances. 200 ft is a pretty long range for any laser. My previous was the robotoolz 7690-2xp and I thought it was pretty awsome but it was NOT impact resistant. Over time started having issues and ultimately concluded the robotoolz lineup was discontinued for good reason. Bosch makes pretty good stuff that lasts and I expect this laser to be a welcomed and useful addition to my tool lineup.

I have been doing full re-gut renos for myself over the last 7years and never owned a laser. (Many times borrowed one from other people when I really needed it) but I have finally reached a point where I going to invest the money in this laser and save myself a ton a time and dedicate my time to doing renos full time. Thank you for the video, I am just as excited to own one of these in the next few days and use it almost every other day! Your video helped me a lot and I agree 100% that the recargable battery is the way to go. The last thing you want is to run out of battery half way throughout the day or have a bag full of dear AA batteries that you have to go and recycle every other week. Thanks a lot a again for the video!!

The only problem with these, is the bracket should hold the level more tightly and should have a little more restraint when turning it around, it's so easy to knock it and wobble it, I may have to put some kind of wedge to steady it up a bit. Other than that its amazing I don't know how I coped without one before.

I was very happy with mine at first. Then I dropped it about 6" and it required recalibration, a two month trip to the factory and back. I got it back and within 3 month it again gave the calibration required light. Rather than return it for another 2 months of unavailability, I purchased a Stabila LA600.

I literally purchased this to hang a couple pictures and perhaps in the future, just general usage around the house. I HAD SOME DOUBTS, as it’s over kill for a guy like me, so I made sure if I purchased this Bosch Laser line level that it could be returned within a specified date for full refund or exchange at KMS tools here in Canada, and they said no problem. Anyhow got this newest addition to my collection, and it’s absolutely what the this says in this KZfaq video,my favourite tool now. Won’t be returning it at all. Great buy and will be using it for sure.

I dont get the AA battery gripe, just get eneloop rechargeable AAs from costco, they prob outperform the bosch batt and certainly future proof once bosch stops making their 12V rechargeable. Wat's nice about the new level is you can run AA as well with the adapter.

yeah I guess I'm a bit spoiled with the Laser, always wanting more run time on those batteries, the 3amp are pretty good, but the 4amp is to big and you can't put the laser on a tripod properly, I recently also got the Milwaukee 3 plane green laser, the Battery loads from the top, so you can get larger batteries in it, how ever it is a lot bigger and way heavier! cheers

Great video! I just got my property surveyed and had the surveyor place a rebar every 100-150 feet. I am finally ready to install a fence. I do not want to move the rebar and want to place my corner posts just 2 inches in. My question is, can I plumb this laser right over the rebar and shoot it from one rebar to the next? Will I see the laser on the ground say over 100feet? Since my property corner angles are not exactly 90 degrees, it’s a hit tricky to put in corner branches without drilling a lot of holes. Thanks in advance!

For what you want to do you would need to buy 2 accessories - 1) laser receiver (Bosch LR8 is really good). You use this to detect the laser line when you cant see it with your eye and that's usually going to be outside. I use my GLL330CG for framing and a lot of other things. In most cases, I don't need to see the entire line, I just need to know where the line intersects a floor joist or some other point. You just sweep/slide the laser receiver across where you think the laser line is and it will start beeping when you get close and when you're dead on it it makes a solid no beep screech (really annoying!). That lets you know where you're laser line is and you mark that point with a pencil/pen. The opposite way is you can set the receiver on a target point (stationary point) and then move the laser line to line up on it. That helps you line your laser level line up on 2 target points. I bought this laser level and the LR8 receiver and tested it out on a full sunny day Florida sunshine on a dock and it was detecting my laser no problem at 180 ft. I haven't tested it on distances longer than that but it rates it at 330 ft. The other accessory you'll need is a fine motion control adapter that gives you fine control spin, left/right, forward/back. The left/right forward/back is not the problem. The spin is where it gets tricky. If you wanted to move (by spinning the laser) your laser line 1/16th of an inch on a target point exactly 100 ft away, that means you have to spin the laser at exactly 3/1000 of 1 degree. Thats VERYYY slight movement control to make that happen. You would need to buy whats called a "manual high precision rotation stage" to get that type of spin control. There are many different grades of those that can go anywhere from 60 dollars to a few thousand dollars. They are mainly used for scientific instruments but you can hook a laser level up to them as well.

Just purchased one of these in the UK but I was slightly alarmed at how wobbly the laser looked on that stand/bracket. If this was an issue I am sure you and others would have mentioned it. It's a shame that these brackets (and for nearly all lasers I know of )have plastic brackets and not something more substantial.

@@hammerandhome I bought a GLL3330CG about a year ago and I love the hell out of it. I use it indoors/outdoors for a lot of different things. The 3 must have accessories would be a laser receiver, telescoping pole, and fine tune motion adapter. The Huepar fine tune adapter will work for about a year and then the motion gears begin to fail b/c they're very cheaply made. It was fine for lining up on 2 points within 20 ft of each other. If you need to line up on 2 points that are over 20 ft then that's where you might want to buy these things called "manual high precision rotation stages." They are for instruments which require very fine control motion movement (like microscopes, optical lenses, fiber lasers, etc). A rotation stage is for spin control. Linear stages are for fine control left/right/forward/back control. I bought a cheap $60 60mm diameter rotation stage b/c my Huepar was worn out. The spin control is so much more crisp and fine tune than the Huepar spin control was. You want to buy a minimum of a 60mm diameter one b/c any size smaller and the laser level will be too heavy for it. 60-120mm diameter tables are ideal. The larger the diameter table the better the motion control but more expensive they are. They can go anywhere from $60 to several thousand dollars depending on what you're buying.

How does it work on close range walls like 3 feet? I am using a dewalt green laser level now but when I set it up 3 feet distance from the wall (which is the max), the laser on both ends left and right fade a bit and becomes less visable. Bora .So at 3 feet from a wall I’m Abel to see the laser no problem on a wall outside about 15 feet away. Very little fading. When I was choosing between DEWALT and Bosch I went with the Bosch mainly because the Brightness of the laser is better than the Dewalt’s ,even though I already have the DeWalt battery platform the Bosch just made more sense. Hope that helps

not yet, it's on my list to do soon. the phone basically will allow you to change the brightness to 3 levels, you can turn it on and off, and select what laser beam you want to use. it will also tell you if it has been potentially dropped or disturbed, cold is usually the culprit behind this. if it shows up you should check it against another laser to make sure its fine, hope that helps

I love the laser , Only problem I have is that this wall mount has so much wiggle in it . Just recently was framing on 4 levels of scaffold , though Id set up the laser so that I could avoid running string line just pack the frame out what laser tells me. Pretty quickly it became evident that even tiny vibration moved that laser on that mount so much that 1 person had to stay on bottom level to make sure laser did not move till other went over the wall to see how much everything needed to be packed and then run a string line. Thinking back I guess I could not have avoided using string anyway , but the fact that I could not check the wall by myself kinda annoys me , If this mount could be tightened so the laser loses ability to clockwise and counterclockwise I would give it 5 star rating
@hammerandhome

If you're needing to shoot vertical lines on a wall or lines on the floor you can just sit the laser level on the floor (either by itself or on the mount that comes with it) for that b/c if its on the floor and somebody bumps it its just going to fall on its side and it will probably be ok. If you are shooting horizontal lines on a wall then you are probably going to need the telescoping pole so you can slide the laser level up/down on the pole to match your laser lines to a certain height target point. In that case, the laser level is attached to the pole by a bracket that comes with the pole. The pole is sandwiched in between the floor and ceiling and it has a pretty good hold if you extend it out tight enough. The biggest risk in that case is somebody hitting the pole hard enough to "un-wedge" it then the entire pole and level starts to fall over. That would be shitty and hopefully your laser level wasnt up high on the pole. Honestly I have found no use for a tripod. It can give you a little bit of elevation but you can use the pole for that and get a much larger window of up/down than the tripod and its stronger hold if you set your pole tight b/w floor and ceiling. If you have a tripod and somebody accidentally hits it, its going to fall as far as you had the tripod extended out. The taller you set your tripod, the more floor space the legs take up and the farther the level is going to fall. I just either set on the floor or use the telescoping pole. The only thing I can think of a tripod to use is one that has a tilt head that can lock so you can shoot laser lines on an angle (like for a staircase or something).

Probably a dumb question, but I am thinking about buying a Bosch Laser Level because I want to lay out lights on a ceiling. I am a diy'er with a lot of trades experience, but have always used levels, plumb bob's, post levels and so on. Can this project a laser onto a ceiling? With how little I will use it any more, can I skimp out on a crappy Black & Decker and rig it to a pole to achieve the same thing? I see the prices of some of these. . . and I just don't know if I can justify spending 400-600 bucks on one. Anybody's input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
