@@deathiscomingforyou6744 Unless you go for the C-Store ships, any starships you choose in the options would be for one character. If you choose the Lobi, you can transfer the 1500 lobi between characters to spend in the lobi store (but still single-character)

@@CounterYoloGaming Its a shame its only a single character. It kills the viability of enjoying alts as much imo. The whole “play only one character” mindset of devs and considering alts a problem is bad for games and replay value. I get they think they would get more money but i get a feeling no where near enough to justify it. Im still doing the campaign but part of me actually debates if im wasting time. Lockbox ships are far to limited in value to me purely due to the alt factor.

i personally ony have a few i like out of all the reward ships... like 10 max out of them all, but the vaaudwar ships are at the top of the list

If some of the recent giveaways, deals sales and rewards are any indications I suspect that any event reward ships will be in some way at least Account locked when you claim them.

That's one of the few starships I have never actually seen flown in the game; I am secretly debating between the Durgath and the Inquiry as my choice for this event (but the Durgath for space barbie -- as other ships are better at tanking, so I didn't talk about the Durgath). As for why this starship isn't in the video: (1) From a dps perspective, Cmdr/TO and LtCmdr/CMD sounds really good. The potential for Recursive Shearing 3 + Concentrate Firepower 3 + Torpedo Spread 3 sounds nice, but the ship only supports 2 tactical seats (and one being the LtCmdr/CMD). I know torpedo builds don't necessarily need Torpedo Spread 3 & Concentrate Firepower 3, but it sounds really weird to suggest a torpedo build that can't do both. The classic T6 Connie from promo packs actually is great for this type of build funny enough, but also is the Legendary Glenn -- which is an account-unlock starship (though is expensive to get) (2) Having temporal and command specialist seating would mean that this ship, combined with 2 hanger bays, should be the best defensive tanking potential in STO right now with 6 hull healing abilities available (I like having at least 3 hull heals for my tanks alongside reverse shield polarity). That being said: from a tanking perspective, to justify the starship I have to be able to use both a temporal ability and a command ability for it to be worth it to me. As a 4/4 starship, it should be a broadsiding FAW build if so. With only 5 tactical abilities at maximum for this starship, I have to lose slotting kemocite (a regular ability in my FAW tanking builds) to use Rally Point Marker. Realistically, a super similar starship in STO that is account-unlockable is the Legendary Temporal Flight-Deck Carrier (expensive to get though). If I get the Durgath and make it a meme tank with a TON of hull heals, this will be the bridge officer layout (though realistically, I would take one engineering heal away and get emergency power-to-engines in the build): Cmdr Eng/TO seat Ens -- Causal Reversion 1 Lt -- Engineering Team 2 LtCmdr -- Emergency Power-to-Weapons 3 Cmdr -- Reverse Shield Polarity 3 LtCmdr Uni/CMD seat (tac) Ens -- Torpedo Spread 1 Lt -- Rally Point Marker 1 LtCmdr -- FAW 3 Lt Tac seat Ens -- Tactical Team 1 Lt -- Attack Pattern Delta 1 Lt Eng seat Ens -- Construction Shuttle Wing 1 Lt -- Aux-to-SIF 1 Lt Sci seat Ens -- Hazard Emitters 1 Lt -- Photonic Officer 1 [combined with Improved Photonic Officer for cooldown management & increased healing from all of my hull heals]

@@CounterYoloGaming While Durgath is rather good(basic cloak+ two cruiser commands), Valkis may have an advantage over her, as battle cloak and singularity options are better overall, at least for me. Yes, a Valkis has ten less power due to singularity core instead of M/AM warp core, but having Shockwave, Absorption, Singularity Jump, Warp Shadow and Overcharge counters that easily. Shockwave is a plasma version of Ytijara's or Fe'rang's traits, with increased range. Absorption is an instant shield/hull heal with shield heal-over-time. Jump teleports your ship and leaves a singularity behind you to suck anyone misfortunate enough to be near your ship. Overcharge makes your directed energy weapons spew a stream that will melt nearly anything if they don't use Reverse Shield Polarity or something similar. And while Warp Shadows is useful in the fact that it makes several copies of your ship (which can help in evading enemies) its cloak is useless given that all warbirds can cloak anytime they want. Or one can get Voth Phase Decoy if they want, as its 5% max hull increase can always come in handy, even if they don't use the active ability from the console. The only drawback that might be mentioned is that Valkis has only lieutenant tactical, which can be an issue for some players, myself included.

id realy say unless u need to squeeze the last bit of possible DPS out of ur build, u should always go for ships u want to fly over ships u just get for the Trait/Console imo. it will give u more fun on the long run, and by now traits we can get from Exchange from Lockboxes are realy broad spread and enabe all kind of good/decent builds. and while traits can be game changers, and some consoles too, i still think fun wise u get more out of a ship u can fly for a long time

I got the jem'hadar ship in Mudd's for the console funny enough (an account unlock CritD console with a survival clickie is nice for all of my tanks -- allows me to skip tachyokinetic converter on most of my tanks now). I know that it's trait is great for CRF dps builds though.

All starships of any faction (including federation captains flying KDF starships) are unlocked once you get a pure KDF captain to level 65 (not KDF-Romulan nor KDF-Jem'Hadar). You can alternatively pay for the starship faction unlock in the C-Store for 2k zen (less on sale) if you don't want to play a KDF captain to get the unlock for free.

Damn Skippy that is why I love Fed, Ronnie and Jemmie designs over KDF. I need to have a good looking ship.

(1) The Khaiell's bridge officer seating offers more flexibility & options if you want more than just dps on the starship -- which I feel is more necessary especially if you decide to do PvP on a PLT Warbird. The Okhala is slightly better if you only intend to do glass-cannon dps PvE builds on her. (2) Would I rate the Fleet Temporal Warbird over the C-Store Khaiell? Yes, but not for the reason you assume. (2a) When comparing Cmdr/TO to Cmdr/PLT for a CSV build, they are about the same honestly. TO gives some extra passive mobility & extra dmg with a certain TO bridge officer ability, while Cmdr/PLT provides significantly more mobility with PLT maneuvers -- something desirable in a high-dps run of ISE or HSE. (2b) With that said, does the wpn layout matter between 5/3 & 5/2+1? Only a little initially when you don't have access to the stronger experimental wpns in the game (the one from the competitive reputation is good enough btw on a budget). The ships are on par with each other for a CSV build, while the Temporal Warship is miles ahead for a beam overload build. The Temporal warship also has the best starship mastery package in the game, so there is that. (2c) Keep in mind, my rating in this comment is assuming you are (A) intending to use a CSV build, and (B) comparing the Fleet TO Warbird vs the C-Store Khaiell. If it is between the two C-Store versions, the Khaiell wins with the extra console slot.

Many of the strongest consoles in STO are only usable on certain starships. It is a point that MANY of us in the community have been asked to have just lifted by the dev's, as there are many really cool and strong consoles that would be fun to use on other starships -- but cannot at the moment (and Cryptic hasn't given a good reason besides that "some of the consoles have unique visuals" that wouldn't work on other starships excuse). The only nice thing these starship-restricted unique consoles do is to promote using otherwise unconventional starships -- like using a C-Store Flagship due to the restriction of the strong flagship console set. Thinking back on it honestly, the concept from Cryptic of letting consoles from starships usable on any starship existed but wasn't commonplace until the Victory is Life expansion (e.g. every Megabundle group of starships in the C-Store have ship-specific console sets). The new EP removed the restriction of Jem'Hadar & Jem'Hadar Vanguard consoles a few months after the launch of that expansion, and all of the consoles from *new* starships from then-on out were usable on all starships. Because we saw the EP remove console restrictions then, we know that it *can* be done -- which is why I still talk about these consoles in STO. Hopefully with bugging Cryptic enough, they will finally relent and let us use any console on any starship. I'm sorry that you assumed that all universal consoles would be usable on all starships, but that isn't the case currently in STO. A universal console is just a type of console that is usable in any console slot of a starship that can use it (not limited by console slot type, like engineering, tactical, or science). I'm not a Cryptic employee, just a person making KZfaq videos for fun on my favorite MMO, so I can't really do much for you. If I could have my way for energy tanking, I would use the Flagship 3-piece set, the 31st Century taunt/haste console, and the Nakuhl time slip console together on the same starship -- but they aren't usable together unfortunately due to starship restrictions. Should I have added a column letting everyone know if a console was restricted to a few consoles? Looking back, I should have. Some of the people working on the STO Wiki are updating the console list there; combined with the lack of engagement nor interest in my list, I have stopped updating it. It is true that starship descriptions & item box descriptions in general are extremely lacking (and are often not updated when changes occur in-game -- e.g. the full-starship access recently to descriptions). Fortunately, the STO Wiki is generally decent at having extra text to warn what starships in general are able to use a console. For you example about the Na'kuhl set, going to the console set section on the STO Wiki has the console descriptions there showing they are only usable on Na'kuhl starships (right below where it says that only 1 of that console can be used per starship). sto.gamepedia.com/Na%27kuhl_Plasma_Technologies_Set It's true that I have looked up things on the STO Wiki for so long, that maybe I should make a part of a video as to how I look things up on the STO Wiki. Even if they made it a store purchase item (more nickle and diming to be sure) to where you can unlock ship specific items to be usable on all ships, I think it would be a great way to monetize something that they should give away for free but, hell, at this point, I would pay 1k Zen to unlock an item or even make it an credit sink in game. Just food for thought if the devs watch these sorts of things.

It is a factor due to fleets spinning of new fleets when they get to big. As best as I can gather there is a limit to the max number people that can be in a fleet.

The max is 500 people per fleet. My biggest issue with fleet military requirements is that, unlike other fleet requisitions, you can't be invited to another captains fleet map to get access to higher military starships (unlike consoles & personnel that can be acquired from fleet map invites if your fleet isn't maxed out yet). If Cryptic ever changes that, I will stop talking about Fleet Military & Colony starship requirements.

My preferences are listed in the video, but more important is what are your preferences when it comes to flying a starship. Do you want to fly a starship purely based on space barbie (how it looks & customizations) -- willing to adjust your playstyle to that starship? Do you want a starship purely based on it being the most optimal starship for a specific playstyle -- with its looks not a consideration? Or maybe you want a balance between the two? There's a variety of starships there, and I can't read minds, so I would need more clarity to give you more specific advice.

Just a good heavy combat tanking ship. My main go to tanking ship is the Gok’tad battle carrier from the winter wonderland event, I do want a good heavy hitting tank ship that can take some punishment and also has some MW abilities as well.

Mastery comes with the Tier 6 Ship. If you buy a Tier 5 Ship, you need to use an upgrade Token to get mastery.

I would think it does

Two separate types of cooldown. The trait lowers torpedo recharge time and the console lowers SHARED torpedo cooldown. When you fire a torpedo you'll notice a very short cooldown on all other torp launchers currently equipped. The Terran console cuts that cooldown in half.

I went with the Liberated Bog Juggernaut, "upgrading" my character that had a fully borg crew with a themed assimilated sovereign-class. I was tempted to get a Durgath though.

Cryptic keeps on shrinking the list of ships for the T5 infinity box, so there really isn't much of a point to making a video honestly when the ships I link could easily be removed in the near future (I am *still* getting complaints that my budget T5 Voth Bastion from years ago no longer is budget pricing on the exchange...). As for my suggestion at the moment? Pick the Lukari scout ship if you want an exotic-based build (the only science option with a T5U/T5X upgrade option of them -- T5U isn't free though), or the Hirogen Hunter Heavy Escort if you want a weapon-based playstyle (only good one remaining that has a T5U/T5X option, the T5U is free with this one).

It's on par with the Vengeance from the lobi store, and B-tier in my subjective cruisers tier list.

Get a pure KDF captain to level 65 (not KDF-Romulan nor KDF-Dominion) and any of your captains can fly any of the starships in the game. If you happen to come across a starship you can't fly, let Cryptic know and they will promptly fix it for the next patch (the Verne was fixed, as an example, as of this patch).

If I was a betting man, I would bet on Cryptic adding the Atlas to Mudd's Market in their first Mudd's Market 3-pack of starships in 2022 (after the 2021 Event Campaign ends) -- a LOT of people will choose the Atlas for the event campaign (to use or sell), and the mudd's pack later will get the crowd that wants it account-unlocked.
