The potato, cheese, gravy, chicken dish reminds me of poutine which is a Canadian classic. It's so good. Just fries, cheese curds and gravy. Lots of places add interesting toppings too. So yum!

I currently live in Chiang Mai in Thailand and street food is all people eat here, no cooking barely ever! Though I just feel street food in London must be so expensive compared to here I get my meals for around £1. Also just the general vibe and chaos and vibe would never pass in England and I think that's the beauty of it hahah

Grace you NEED to visit Leyton in East London! The food scene here is popping off. There’s Morny bakery which does usually have queues but is incredible. Homies on Donkies which is so good for tacos and now Burnt Smokehouse (2 hour queues everyday at peak time, get there early) which had an exceptional review in the Guardian and is apparently incredible!

A restaurant opened up recently near me and it’s become a local favourite. It’s on Highbury Road (N5) and a small family restaurant called Mihan Restaurant. I’ve never had Afghan food before but it was such an eye opener to the cuisine, absolutely delicious and everything is freshly made. Would definitely recommend.

Hi Grace! I was born in Germany and a typical German streetfood is currywurst - basically a sausage cut into small pieces topped in a lot of a ketchupy curry sauce (not like an Indian curry sauce). It's often served with chips. A few years ago when I was living in London I know there was a German currywurst stall, so you might be able to find it in London x

Moishes is my favourite whenever i go to borough market! The little pastries aren't their best, but their challah loaves and bagels are to die for, and their babka is so chocolatey! I also recommend The cinnamon tree bakery, it has the most gooey & rich brownies too!

1000% agreed! And the little pastries are traditional Jewish baked goods (rugelach) and don’t attempt to be croissants, haha - so I feel the expectations in the video were maybe a bit off too…

I'm from California, I lived for 5 years in South Korea, and now I'm an immigrant here in France. France doesn't know what street food is, hahahha, no joke, you should see what they call street food sometimes here (I saw a curry advertised as street food once, that needed to be eaten on a plate with maybe a spoon, French would never eat with their hands, lol, unless it's a viennoiserie, lol). Sure there are things like kebab (not French) or other immigrant food that can do "street food", but actually French street food, lol, the closest you're gonna get is a jambon beurre or a croissant, lol. So as a Californian (Northern California) that has lived in Korea, gawh, I miss real street food sooooooo bad, lol, makes me want to go visit London just for it.

If you're ever after a foodie day out up north then York is a great place to come. There's the sandwiches and doughnuts from C&S sourdough, hot chocolate from York Cocoa House, the fried chicken from clucking oinks, tea at Hebden Tea, the korean food at Little Asia, beautiful pasta at Little Italy , wine and cheese at Pairings and proper fine dining at Skosh. Such a foodie city...i could go on forever!

@zoeingold545
@zoeingold545 9 ай бұрын
@@sanaa7 Totally depends what you're after! In March the daffodils should just be coming out so make sure to walk the city walls and visit the minster. If you want to go to the Shambles, go early in the morning before it becomes a tourist hell hole. The museum garden and the museum itself are great (and Brew and Brownie, a brilliant cafe, is right by them!). We have lots of independent bookstores, like Little Apple Bookshop, and other independent shops. The Cat Trail is really fun too (look it up online). If you have a car then drive out to the moors/Whitby. If you can please book a hotel or BnB rather than use AirBnB, we have massive issues with renting in the city right now, its actually ridiculous! Hope you and your sister have a fantastic trip :)

Raclette over boiled potatoes with a side of tiny pickles. I have been dying to try it in that way, with the big half wheel of raclette toasted right in front of you and the melty toasty part scraped off onto the potatoes. I know there are stalls doing that at Borough Market. Ive made it at home, just with a small wedge of raclette done under the broiler, and it was yummy, but it just looks so amazing from the big cheese wheel.

I LOVE bao (the food, not the restaurant), I love bread, but everywhere in London is SO expensive for pennies of bread and a tablespoon of filling. I'm not expecting genuine asian street food prices, but it feels like a mick-take. Its less -stuff- than a sandwich. Bao the restaurant is one of the cheaper places tbh, I've seen £10 single bao on menus before (and I ordered something else) Korean Dinner Party (Carnaby Street?) is my favourite fried chicken at the moment (cheese, tteokbokki, garlic mayo. All my favourite things)

Best shave ice NOT in Hawaii (my favorite Waiola in Honolulu) is a food truck here in the Seattle area called Mike's Shave Ice. It's INCREDIBLE!!! They make their own syrups and the ice is so fine, like snow. (He uses quality ice with the BEST shave ice machine available). They have all the toppings you traditionally find in Hawaii. I'm happiest with guava syrup on ice over coconut ice cream (when available - they also have ube and vanilla) and an ice cap (drizzle of condensed milk). It's HEAVENLY!!! I hunt them down wherever they move around the area and if they are nearby, I go!!!! They even put a candle in my shave ice on my birthday! Such sweet people. ❤️

I’ve only had a yorkie wrap once (not in Camden) and I was disappointed. It was really bland. They used really poor quality ingredients. The meat was tasteless and the veggies were watery. I was expecting salty, meaty, roasted tastes, and some sweetness from maybe some roast parsnips or carrots. I had the pork one so some crackling in it or some apple sauce would have been good, but wasn’t there. The stuffing was wet and bready. I’ve not tried another since because I was so gutted!
