I don't think it's impacted anything on my car. Wipers still run when there water detected.

It sits on the rain sensor circuit for power. This ensures it is not running when the car is off and removes any need to pay a 20-something to hack your car's wiring to install it. Fairly smart setup. I put one on my 2019 E450 Cabriolet.

They only have it listed for 17 and up so I'm not 100% positive that there is any design changes. Even something small could make it not fit.
