Go head and charge it all the way.. won't bother it that's a myth look it up.. EV owners charging fast charge and all the way have over 250k miles battery still at 98% lots of rumors and nonsense out there don't buy most of it. I've seen more then 1 EV with over 360k on them,, batteries like new... little to no range change... tires and brake pads some times... that's it... at 360k plus saw a few online with over a million miles look it up..

Looking at a 2004 b6 s4, inspection said near perfect shape at 62k miles. Same issue with the slight rust bottom. Other than that I’m worried about the timing chains and the water pump availability. Worth a $19k price tag? 6 speed manual btw

@@Emadifications I usually like a noticeable difference between eco/normal and Sport; the Stinger GT (which is what this will replace) and Mk7.5 R (stage 1) had a good enough difference (you and I have had very similar vehicles over the years haha I call you my “car twin”). The priority is definitely to be comfortable and tame when not in sport mode, though. For example, I chose the RWD Ioniq 5 instead of AWD because that was good enough for us nowadays.
@Emadifications
@Emadifications Күн бұрын
So when you put this in a sport mode it does change the shift points and power output but mine doesn't have adjustable suspension so it stays the same basically the whole time. My biggest complaint with this car right now is the transmission is very sloppy. It's fine when you're driving it very conservatively around town, but I'm starting to feel some jerkiness at downshifts even in comfort mode. Now this may be an issue with my specific car, but the transmission is just not snappy. I've heard that the TCU tune makes it slightly better but I don't think it's worth the $1,500 because nobody said it's really good. Therefore, as the spirit of car to me the limitation is the transmission slop. I'm going to get a transmission fluid service done and reset done and see if it helps, but I'm not sure. The amg's act completely different. Their transmission shifts very snappy and is awesome and makes all sorts of cool noises. Reminded me of my s4. This shift speed is about the same as a stinger gt, so you won't notice too much of a difference there. But if you're looking for adjustable suspension, my model doesn't have that. it's an okay balance of performance and comfort but it definitely leads towards more of a commuter car versus a performance car. The power is there though but it's very quiet all the time and fairly tame. Just depends on what you're looking for. Let me know if you have any specific questions I can answer, instead of me just rambling haha

@@Emadifications that’s definitely helpful info! Would you classify the 2018-2020 as “spirited/sporty/adrenaline shot” and 2021+ as the “comfy quick quiet” since it went full all-terrain? I’m not looking into the AMGs since I want the jump seats for the kids and I got the V8 gas mileage covered from B7 RS4
@Emadifications

@amercancurry I wouldn't even call the 2018 to 2020 spirited or adrenaline shot honestly. They're pretty chill cars that don't inspire a lot of sporty behavior. I feel like the new ones probably got even softer and probably have a little bit more body roll. So in this context, I would say the 18 to 20 are probably a decent bit sportier per se, but I haven't driven a new one. Reviews tell me that it is pretty soft but a little bit more powerful

@@Emadifications it's dreadful when I go to drive my truck after driving the ev6 lol. Waiting for the torque convertor to lock or waiting for a trans to downshift on the highway when I'm looking to pass someone.....it hurts. The truck's 400hp and 400ftlbs of torque are great except for by the time I get to those figures, the ev6 is already gone. We'll never go back to not having at least one EV in the house. That’s a very basic trim you have there. Also the US seem to still get the pre facelift version, as in Europe the car has been upgraded. I ordered a facelift AMG-line and that’s much more luxurious. It also has the 20” rims which look a lot better and come with adaptive suspension. It isn’t fast indeed, but that also is very different in Europe compared to the US. Here in Europe the speed limit is around 60 mph max and the infrastructure outside of highways doesn’t invite fast acceleration. It’s all quite small and narrow here. Also compared to ICE cars it is still quick. Compare the EQB 250+ (2 wheel drive) to the EV6 RWD and the EQB is even quicker than the EV6. Comfort is more important. I’m 52 and it’s my first EV, so I like the conventional setup really. If I want more speed and futuristic looks I’ll borrow the Smart #3 my son drives. If you compare cars, you really should take the trim into account, it can make a car completely different in look and feel.

The refreshed version of 2024 was launched recently here in India along with EQA. Mostly cosmetic changes, but the range I feel has gone up. I am fine with 7.6 sec 0-60, but the problem is its lack of features. No 360 camera, no remote start, no seat ventilation, no head-up display, no ADAS, no window blinds and it costs $90K on road here (yeah cars are expensive in India)!

@@Emadifications I stand corrected, it does have HUD, 360 camera and ADAS features. No seat ventilation or massage and no clarity on remote car features. The cost is still the same - $90K. Excellent video and review. Shopping for an EV6 now to replace our XC40 Recharge lease. From one enthusiast to the other, you nailed tons of the benefits of an EV over ICE with this one in particular. Couple questions/comments: - How did the coolant leak work out? - Ever try car seats in the back for kids? Rear vents making me reconsider - I know you wash your car often or don't get much rain because you didn't even mention the mia rear wiper. Or maybe Rain-X does enough? - Smart cruise control an option? - Ever try out the outlet between the bottom of the rear seats? - Fake engine sound review? - Battery health check-up with CarScanner app on OBD port or similar? - Shocked you haven't noticed a 5-10% range decrease with wider tires and non-aero rims yet
@Emadifications
@Emadifications 14 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. XC40 is a great car. I drove one recently and thought it was a good one. I'll attempt to answer your questions below: 1. I refilled the coolant, and have driven over 1k miles since and it has not dropped at all. 2. Yes, i actually made a video showing 2 car seats in the car. They fit very well. Rear seat room is good in this car. The limiting factor is just head room compared to some other cars but thats not an issue for rear kids (or me, since i'm 5'8) Video link (you can find it on my EV6 playlist): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oct5dpuj1bvQoY0.html 3. I assume Smart Cruise Control refers to adaptive cruise or where it matches posted speed signs? If so, yes, those are options in the Wind with Tech or above trims. 4. I did one time. Works just fine, although some people get confused about what the light represents on the port and think it's not working. 5. I believe i covered the fake engine sound in my 1 year review, and honestly i dont use it. Ever. Under 25mph, you get a light hum and that's enough for me. after that, my music is usually blaring or wind noise covers most of it up. It's a gimmick, but one that i appreciate, just dont use. There's only one sound i like, and that's the "Dynamic" sound. 6. Funny you bring up the carscanner app. that was actually a chapter i was going to have in my video but for some reason it completely slipped my mind. I am going to check it this week and do a quick upload. I expect between 98-99% hopefully. 7. I did the wheels and aero very early in the ownership of this car, and based on my driving habits, i wouldnt notice. this is a city/errand car for us, so it's always usually charged. In my usage, i did not notice any drop. Was there one? Likely, potentially so unnoticeable that well... i've never noticed. My range numbers have always been the same, and the wheel size i chose is the stock size of the GT - Line wheels, so it's nothing crazy. Could i be losing 5-10 miles of range? Who knows? But i def dont notice. Hope this helps somewhat.

I like the traditional boxy suv look of the EQB but because of the mediocre specs I think its for loyal Mercedes fans who don’t know or care that it’s not a very good EV. I thought maybe the 350 could be a decent buy used at a dramatically lower price, but I don’t see them for sale new or used. Honestly, I’m not sure what Mercedes is up to with this car as they’ve made some impressive EVs. This seems pretty half hearted to me. I watched a Car Scene Korea video on the 2025 EV 6 and it looks like they are going away from the gloss black on the center console. If the Ioniq 5 didn’t exist I’d buy an EV6. I’m waiting for the 2025. If Kia brought the EV 5 here I’d probably buy that because I like me a boxy SUV. Unfortunately the EV 9 is too big for my needs, but I think it’s awesome. You might find it amusing to watch the savagegeese channel review this car. If my memory serves me right, it actually made him angry.
