Thank you for this video, and for your channel. I'm very pale, but maybe a smidge darker than you and your channel has helped me make so many wise decisions when it comes to makeup. I find it so difficult to identify with many youtubers who fake tan because thats not something i prefer. I can totally see your hard work behind your videos. I am so excited for #paleskinparty !!! Arna I just love you and your channel. I love how you really go into detail about undertones! Nobody on KZfaq focuses on this. And to me it’s sooooo important because I’m so pale with extremely cool skin. And my chest is always red so that doesn’t help. But foundations with any yellow in them really clash with my neck and chest. So thank you so much for your reviews and your recommendations for us pale skin girls! And I absolutely love the charity you are supporting. I have a soft spot for kids that are hurting in any way. It makes me hurt and feel their pain even if I don’t know them. I'm excited about your pale skin week! I watch KZfaqrs of all skin tones, but being about an N5, this series definitely is one I will watch every day of. I was completely unsure of the conversion rate of US to NZ money, and was sad to see it is significantly lower once I used PayPal. I hate to see my own children feel anxious, so I hope this helps raise funds for kids in NZ.

I totally didn’t stay up, waiting for this video… not at all… 😇 I ended up sampling UD’s Naked Skin & TF’s Born This Way, & while Born This Way is harder for me to work with (oily skin), I loved the colour & the way it cancelled out my hyper-pigmentation. Naked Skin was awesome, but I struggled to get as much coverage, & it looked too rosey on my neck. I settled on Swan. I will have to try the Mac stuff! I wonder how it plays with oily skin… I’m loving the casual jazz backdrop. Classing up the place FTW! I’m excited for tomorrow’s video, now!

Hi Arna! I love your channel and I think i've watched almost all your video's by now. I couldn't help but notice that you said in this video that you would do a review of the MAC prolongwear waterproof foundation in NW13 but I couldn't find it yet. You and I seem to have the same skintone, skintype and foundation preferences, your video's have helped me a lot! I've watched thataylaa's review on the prolongwear waterproof already but she has a different skin type and skin tone, so I was wondering if you are still going to do a review on it? What a great charity!! There are so many kids now who were young during the eqs and the affects are really making themselves known now with ptsd and anxiety :( I also managed to try the makeup forever Y205--my dad got me a tester from the Washington D.C sephora! Haha I gave him a list 😁... But I think it is light enough for me?? I found it to be almost pinkish, rather than neutral; how would you compare it next to the Hourglass vanishstick in blanc, in terms of wearable shade? I quite like the finish, and I'm really keen for a light-medium coverage base atm. Also gonna have to check out that m.a.c one

Yeah, it’s incredibly sad seeing the mental effects of the earthquakes :( that’s why when I heard about my brothers charity I just knew I needed to find a way to use my platform to support it! I found the Y205 to be perhaps a fraction darker than Hourglass Blanc (because that is incredibly pale), but personally found it less pink too haha so I guess it sometimes depends on your undertone!

Arna Alayne yes! Especially I find on paler shades, they don’t seem to cover blemishes as well because they are lighter than them. Sometimes a foundation I like in my fake tanned shade isn’t any good in my natural skin tone.

Anyone have tips on best way to get Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation - 102 Fair Porcelain to NZ / AU? I've been stalking online stores for aagggges trying to find options that aren't stupid $$. Arna, thrilled to stumble across your channel as I have spent many years buying the palest shade available in NZ (which is often the wrong colour). First KZfaqr I have ever subscribed too - had to actually sign up to do so!

Awww thank you!! My suggestions - a) befriend an American 😅😅 or b) use a shipping forwarding service like YouPost (I think that’s what it’s called?? It’s a Nz post service), and perhaps plan to buy a few things at once so the shipping isn’t too much! They just came out with new Ivory shades of their Fit Me Concealer and Instant Age Rewind Concealer and I’d highly recommend!! Xx

Arna Alayne I find undertones very confusing, if I am honest. I definitely have some yellow undertones due to liver disease, but I have rosy cheeks. I am also incredibly pale. The different swatches overwhelm me. Thanks for reply.

It is difficult to detect how my skin tone pale in comparison to yours, but I am going to buy some of foundations that you have reviewed for my own comparison. I am using 60 shade of D&G Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation. Nars Chantilly and Tart Shape Tape Fair Natural sometimes looked dark on my face (on spring). Anyway thanks for your time and videos, I wached many of them during last days and found them very useful.

Hello! My skin is very near your color/tone, so I do wear many of the foundations in the same shades. Marc Jacobs Genius Gel in Ivory Light was a holy grail daily foundation for me. (Discontinued, grr!) Finishing my last bottle, and wondered whether you had a recommendation for a replacement in terms of both color and texture/finish. I read somewhere Born This Way, but I'm unsure whether Swan would be too yellow. Thanks!

Born This Way is very similar in texture but yes Swan is quite yellow. Snow might be ok, even though it’s a hint darker, it’s more peachy!

Born This Way is so lovely but it's definitely better with a sponge/beauty blender, especially with dry skin, brush application seems to settle in drier bits for me.

These are my thoughts exactly. My skin is so pale and verrrry cool toned and it is almost impossible to find something. That’s why I love Arna’s channel because I love how she focuses on undertones! Nobody else seems to do this.

KVD is great for oily/combo skin but really bad for dry skin - same with marc jacobs. Most fair pink shades are foundations that work for oily/combo skin but not dry skin. Even the recent fenty release is oily skin.

Good day! It's me again :) I got a sample of MAC Matchmaster in shade 1 and probably you would be interested, if you have not tested it yet. it seemed quite pale for me. Looks almost invisible on skin and gives semi-matte finish. I have a normal skin with a little bit oily in T-zone. This foundation looked beautiful after about 6-8 hours and I have not used powder to set it. The only one concern that I have with it - it has a very strange smell.

Thanks! It would be very interesting to watch your review or just small opinion concerning it. Forgot to mention - it is medium coverage foundation. It feels on the face during the day, but in all other parameters it seemed lovely for me. But I still think that as for MAC it has rather expensive cost.

In Europe we also have a number 100 in the maybelline fit me matte and poreless. Anyone know which is the lightest, 100 or 102? Really excited for paleskinparty! x

I use the european shade in 102 and I think the 100 is more yellow and could be a touch lighter than 102. For me 102 is really a perfect match. I am also very fair skined with a neutral undertone which can lean a little cool.

I wish I could wear the Too Faced Born This Way but even Swan looks too dark. I think it's because I'm so pink and Swan is so yellow it turns orange and I end up looking like a Oompa Loompa so when I want to wear a hydrating medium coverage I lean for my Josie Maran Argan Oil foundation. Sadly RG5 it too neutral and RG10 is too dark so I have to mix one but thankfully it's one pump to one pump so it's easy too mix

+Tammy St. Jean Yeah it’s definitely quite yellow compared to my other ones! Sadly, the Josie Maran was too rich for my skin and I broke out, but it’s a great foundation none the less! My face is just sensitive to certain oils!

Arna Alayne That's why I only wear it when I'm dry and in these very harsh cold arid Canadian winters it happens more then I like it is a $55 foundation to be honest I like to go with my cheaper foundations. lol

So im lookin through your old foundation favorites trying to decide on a new one to try. You said the Urban decay one is more cool toned.. is there another one just as fair but more neutral? (I'm wondering the same thing with the maybelline one?) I'm interested in the Mac studio fix fluid foundation as well. Out of these 3 which is better for the summer heat as far as wear time? Also my skin leans more dry so which is best for that?

No warm shade in the UD that's as pale as 0.5 - however it's really more like neutral cool anyway! The Maybelline, I believe 105 might be just as pale but more warm toned? Can't confirm this as I don't own it, but that is what I've been told! Shade 110 is definitely warmer and still pretty pale! The Maybelline or Studio Fix is best for summer but the UD is good for drier skin haha! So not much help! Another one you might consider is the MAC Prolongwear Nourishing Waterproof in NW13. It's even paler than the studio fix (although the next warm shade is NC15), but the formula is amazing (i didn't own it yet when I made this video!)

I've actually been thinking about trying that one because ive seen you talk about it in other videos (the mac prolong nourishing waterproof foundation) but the waterproof part makes me rethink it a bit. I don't want something that's like hard to get off. Ha ha. Is that the case? Or does it come off easily with face wash?

haha no it comes off easily!! Just a micellar water (which isn't actually water haha hence why it removes waterproof), or cleanser. My drunk elephant bars get it off! It's what I wore on my trip to Hamilton Island :) I do a mini-review in the vlog lol because it held up so well after our hike and swim!

Catalina Céspedes it' s the foundation that is a little bit too yellow for her skintone so the neck that is cool toned seems dark.. i am neutral-cool toned and when i use foundation in neutral tone my neck sometimes is more visible as "pink" because for the cool tone
