Estee Lauder Nude Foundation bacame my perfect foundation on this summer! Indeed, shade adapts well to face color and skin looks perfect without excess of makeup.

This is so helpful! I struggle so much finding a shade for myself in the winter. Then summer rolls around and none of my beautiful fair foundations match because I tan so easily. It's a struggle! I appreciate the work you did on this video!

B.B. cream and tinted moisturizer-wise: Which would you choose that is easiest to just slap on with your hands like you would with lotion (no setting or anything) and looks pretty natural and dewy? I ask because you are exactly my shade and I’m so tired of spending money on things that just turn orange, lol. (I like the natural look and just like evening out the redness. B.B.’s are so nice cause they wear off naturally throughout the day too, instead of flaking off my poor skin. My usual is Étude House’s precious mineral B.B. Cream, but my skin is drier and it can sometimes cling a bit to dry spots after a few hours.) Regardless, thanks for this video! I love how you took the time to categorize by so many different standards. You are so good to us and I really do hope your mental health gets better. You make my day better just when I listen even in the background!

I really love this video Arna! It is so helpful I found a ton of foundations that I thought were plenty light for me that I planned on buying only to see them next to foundations I already own that are far too dark, I saw they were essentially the same depth so much so that they would practically never work. Definitely saved me some coin girl, much appreciated. 😘 I recently got a tester for Too Faced, new shade "Cloud" and it was practically an exact match depth wise, just a little too pink for me! (Oh those pesky undertones!!) I think I will try and get my hands on that Australis shade the undertone of it looks Fantastic. Again great work wishing you all the best as always 💖🙏🏻 *EDIT* I almost forgot ! I think a suggestion for another category would be the finish of the foundation, Matte, Satin, Dewy ETC. Also perhaps a powder foundation section Pressed Powder or a Mineral Powder Foundation. Hope that helps !

Such a helpful video! It is very much appreciated! I’m glad you mentioned the mask-ness of some fuller coverage foundations. I always find it a strange phenomenon when a perfectly matching color makes me look like a ghost if they are too full coverage. I guess when we’re this pale we need a bit of our redness or “flaws” peeking through for some reason. I’m excited to get Too Faced Cloud but a little mad that they aren’t bothering to release that shade for their other foundations and concealers. I’ve had a couple samples and really love it as long as I don’t put on too much. I want to try the hourglass stick to and it was nice to see it next to others. And I didn’t know there was a new double wear shade! I heard so much about it last year, swatched it in store and it was way too dark. Thanks again for doing this video for us pale folk!

I had no idea Estee Lauder released new lighter shades in the Double Wear line! It looks like they are out in the US too, but online only for right now (at least as far as I can see). I really loved the formula, but it was too dark for me, so I'm hoping one of the new shades either 1N0 or 0N1 will work for me! Also, I was wondering out of all of your foundations, which would you say are the best shade matches for you?

You were the person that got me interested in the Born This Way foundation line. Sadly their shades have always been too dark for me. But your swatch of the new shade "Cloud" looked promising so I went out and got it :) And what can I say? This is the first time in my entire make-up life that I can use a foundation straight out of the bottle without having to add a white mixer and that goes with my dry skin as well. This one is really spot on to my skin tone. I think I have found my holy grail foundation. Thank you so much, Arna!!!

Thanks this was really helpful. The Estee Lauder shade in 0N1 Alabaster is it similar to the to the Rimmel lasting finish breathable foundation in 001 or the Makeup forever HD foundation in Y205 alabaster (which is my closest match)? I hope you can help as I'm really interested in the new double wear foundation, typically I use MAC studio fix in NC10 which I really love, and while it's close, it's a touch too dark for my skin even though I can make it work.

Good Work Arna! 🙂 I missed a little bit the classic good old "Alabaster" from bobby brown, this is one of the palest shades I know since centuries. But yes is expensive, not everyone likes BBs formulas ect. I also have born this way in cloud wich is a little bit more neutral than the bobby browns one. The darkest shades you swatched are like a slap in pale peoples face..... Beige with hard yellow or pink, sometimes ashy undertones....stays just beige. Beige isn't pale and it never will be.

This was so interesting! Thank you! 😁 For me, the ones that lean pink are fairly disappointing when I’ve tried them. I think that’s why I’ve avoided liquid foundation for years. It seems like it makes it look foundation-y on the skin. I’m loving something with a neutral undertone and actually that Mac one looked like a nice color. My main goal is to have something be undetectable on my fair skin and it seems nearly impossible! ☺️

Have you tried mixing the Cover FX power play in N0 with the Nars natural radiant longwear in Oslo? Together they make such a great combination, both in depth, undertone and formula. Oslo is way too pink and a bit dark, and N0 is a bit yellow and fair for me.

This was amazing!! Seeing a bunch of swatches is the best way for me to see all the different undertones. There are so few neutral foundations out there! It's sort of funny what some brands consider to be a "porcelain" shade 🤔

When you see them all spread out there on your arm it's hard to believe that you wear them all swatched they all look so different. Now seeing them swatched I really wanna try two of them the colours looked nearly perfect for me and I need a affordable cruelty free foundation other then The Ordinary one the Milani and the BH Cosmetics looked pink enough. Not that I don't love that foundation it's just a little drying and winter is coming here and I think my skin will be too dry to wear it. How at the texture of the Milani and BH Cosmtics compared to The Ordinary full coverage one?

Brilliant thankyou. Bonus points for the time this must've taken to do too! Isn't it interesting to see the variance in shade depth and undertones? So many of those "cool" shades seem so orange it's kinda necessary to actually see them swatched to know which ones to avoid as that orange pink is just too warm for me and is just as unflattering as something too yellow. But there were some really nice true-neutrals there (my fave shade match in a non-powder foundation these days is actually a neutral - the Revolution Fast Base in F4 though I've paled down a little for winter and it might even be better mixing it with the F1 you have). I actually wouldn't mind seeing swatches of your best shade matches - maybe in the foundation video you mentioned doing later in the year?

This is incredibly helpful! I found the Idun Minerals in Jorunn to be a near perfect match for me but unfortunately it breaks me out. Seeing the palest shades swatched gives me a better idea of a potential replacement! I do think that you might have skipped a swatch in that section, though, after the Estee Lauder Double Wear in 0N1 in Alabaster swatch. Can you let us know what foundation that is? The undertone is beautiful

Thankyou so much for this, I wish you had done a small section on cruelty free though! I recently bought the tarte amazonian foundation in fair sand because it's supposed to be very light with yellow tones. It's so dark! It's so hard finding pale shades in Australia that are also cruelty free :( I will definitely give the Australis one a go!

Products seem to look almost exactly the same color on me as they do on you. It's honestly been such an awesome shift from watching other, less fair-skinned beauty vloggers. Thirdly, I have a question for you; the best shade I've ever found for my skintone is the Fit Me Matte 102 Fair Porcelain, but recently I've been looking to branch out and try some other formulas. Do you have any recommendations for products that are close in color to the Fit Me Matte 102 Fair Porcelain?

This was incredibly helpful, Arna! Is the Flesh foundation lighter than the KVD one? It looks as though it was paler. The KVD is a little too dark for me, but I’m concerned lest the Flesh one is too heavy looking on the skin. I used to wear the Bobbi Brown Skin Stick Foundation that was far too heavy and makeup-like on my face. Also, is it a nice formula? Oh, and I’m interested in purchasing the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow. Do you like it? Is the bronzer a good color and the highlighter a light enough shade? Oh, and is Too Faced Born this Way in Cloud as light (or lighter) than KVD in Light 41? Is it drying--I have very dry skin. Gosh, please excuse me for my many questions!!! This dermacol 208 is wrong. That shade is super fair. I'm using it and this is my perfect shade. That shade looks like 210 or darker. It cant be that shade. Next one to suppose to be dermacol looks like dermacol 208
