Wash your face with a mild face wash. Pat your face dry and make sure not to apply any product. Leave it bare for about 30 minutes before starting the skin test. Gently pat a sheet of blotting paper on your face. Observe the sheet in bright light. If you see oil on the sheet you have oily skin. If only a few regions of the sheet pick up oil, you have combination skin. If there’s no oil on the sheet, you have dry skin.
