It’s been a while since I regaled you all with my favourite moments from the Trails Series, and after some nudging from viewers I’ve decided to make an updated list. The format’s a bit different but the principle remains the same, hope you like it!

CS1: Fie handing out plants to everyone who helped her is one of the best moments in the series, IMO.

The moment I will always remember from Cold Steel 1 is: "Let me staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!" It might have been boosted by great voice acting, but that part gave me goosebumps.

Defending the IBC while Inevitable Struggle is my favorite moment in the series so far. Playing Azure for the first time currently so I’m excited for what’s to come.

I think my turning point in CS1 from having to push myself through it to actively wanting to see what happened next was when Jusis finally opened up and told Rean his backstory. On a somewhat related note, my favourite scene in CS3 would have to be when Rean and Randy become drinking buddies.

CS3 for me has to be Aurelia vs Arianrhod, when her theme started I just lost it man.

Sky FC: Weissman and the kiss between Estelle and Joshua broke my heart so much and i still get chills watching it Sky SC: Either the scene where Joshua and Estelle reunite on the beach or when Kevin kills Weissman Sky 3rd: Stardoor 15, I dont think I meed to explain much Zero: Estelle and Joshua finally getting Renne made me so happy and was so nice to see, I did also like the entirety of the section where you find KeA for the first time Azure: The reveal that the opening of Zero had actually happened and that the SSS originally died is one of the best things Ive ever seen in any game and is probably my favorite moment in the series CS1: My first game in the series and there are a lot I could pick, the fight between Laura and Fie is really good and I loved Valimar and the entire ending, my overall favorite moment has to be the Crow reveal. I had already guessed it was him since the situations with him seemed a bit to convenient but getting that confirmation that I was right felt so good. CS2: I liked CS2 but I cant really think of many overall big moments that I loved, my favorite would probably be Osborne surviving and getting revealed to be Rean’s father. I also did like all of the reunions between Rean and the rest of Class7 though. CS3: Theres so many in this game, some of my favorites are; Juna’s speech, Lloyd fistbump, all of Juno, Rean VS Siegfried, but my favorite moment has probably has to be the finale CS4: Also lots of good moments; Rean and Class7 reunion, getting Crow back, the credits, but my favorite easily was the entirety of Mishilam. Not only do you get to see the entire cast interact with each other but Rean VS himself was one of the coolest things ive ever seen

When yuna freaked out in CS3 at the end of the crossbell act i think that moment hit me more than any other, at least in the CS games. This felt like one of the more human moments in all the CS games. She reluctantly joined the academy after her country was taken over. And not only was her country occupied easily.... all the heroes she grew up idolizing were helplessly cut off. And that moment she realized there was not even a symbolic hope of them being there, and all the crossbell pride that games 4-5 established was gone..... There was no hope for her country.... all was lost.... at that moment she was in total despair. The fact she dosnt just give up hope and join oroborous or the jagers from grief shows the strength of her resolve.

I like your Hajimari's best moment but, for me there is one more damn that added episode of Osbourne's backstory and Rean crying. What a great Father.

Watched through cold steel 3. Started cold steel 4 last night. I've played sc through cs3 in only 12 1/2 weeks. It's so good.

My favorite moments from the games I've played Sky FC: weissman reveal Sky SC: Estelle and Joshua reunion on the beach Cold Steel 1: Crows reveal as the main antagonist Cold Steel 2: Boss fight vs ordine Cold steel 3: The reveal of Osbornes divine knight Cold Steel 4: The scene on the pantagruel with all the previous casts finally meeting

I think for me the best trails scene is crows “death” in cold steel 2 because it’s the first time in the series where you really fail, or at least that’s how it feels. I think it’s extra impactful when you play the series in order because of the hope it gives you, in sky SC Estelle says she’s going to bring Joshua back and she does, in azure the SSS says they’ll bring KeA back and they do, albeit at the cost of crossbell. So when you get to that point and rean says he’ll bring crow back you believe it, only for him to die. Osborne’s survival reveal immediately after just drives it home, it makes you question if anything you just did across both cold steel games truly mattered. Still gives me chills to this day

I think what gets me about Ao no Kiseki’s moment with the Septerion of Zero is just… what kind of world was it. A world where the SSS perished against Guenter. From the pictures, the only one who was barely standing was Randy. So how did KeA find out about their deaths? Did she feel it? Or, was it worse: that Randy had to break the news that he lost the only three people he felt could have guided him to a new path in his life. A world where Cecile would bury her younger brother, like she did with her fiance. A world where Mayor MacDowell would need to write to his daughter and her ex-husband that he lost their daughter. A world where Chief Roberts lost the girl who was like a daughter to him, and where Jona lost someone who was like an annoying sister. A world where Noel would spend days consoling Fran after she feels like she failed to support them, where Sergei wishes he could have done more to keep Guy’s dream alive, where Arios realizes he failed to prepare the SSS for what was coming. And a world where, without the SSS, Crossbell had no symbol of hope that could deal with the Zemuria’s chaotic times ahead.

Love seeing people explain their favorite moments like this in such depth. I remember thinking relatively little about a couple of these moments, but to hear why someone else loves them so much puts things into a good perspective. I imagine we are going to have a good discussion about CS4 in the near future...!

Bruhh.... If I made a list of fav moments, it'd prob be 140 hours long.

This videos gives me excitement for Crossbell, Cold Steel 3 and 4, and Hajimari that I don't think is healthy.

I only played the Cold Steel games, and my absolute favorite moment in that series has got to be Rean becoming a Divine Blade! No scene in the series has ever given me such a wide smile as seeing the insecure kid from CS1 finally accept that he is not only good enough as he is, but also worthy of standing toe to toe with the best in the country, and now be their equal... I have always seen the story and involvement in these games to be a kind of evolution for Class 7 as a whole, but also for Rean himself: CS1: He is basicly an outsider to his own life, just like how Class 7 is a part of what's going on around them, but they don't really have the skills or determination to make an impact yet. CS2: They still lack skills to stand on their own feet, but they discover that trusting others and relying on them isn't a weakness, but a strength. Something Rean also discovers for himself. CS3: The skills are now there, but we still have no clue what really goes on. We want to make a difference, but have no idea what that means yet. CS4: It all comes together! The skills, the allies and the full scope of what's going on now allows Class 7 to be fully integrated into the plot, with Rean standing to to toe with Osborne in both skill and knowledge... Rean was originally my least favorite MC in Trails, just from a concept standpoint, but after following his journey for 4 games, it felt like Rean FINALLY got rewarded after literal years of being lost, confused, scared and beaten up both physically and mentally at every turn, so by the time we get him back in CS4, he is definitly my favorite character in the entire series!

I know sky SC has many good moments like estelle and joshua reunion on the beach or the ark reveal or kevin killing wiessman but my favorite and most memorable moment in SC will always be the dream sequence that ends with estelle playing the harmonica to snap back to reality ... it is honestly one of my favorite moments in the whole trail series

I just finished Hajimari a couple days ago, I only recently discovered the English patch (and the one for Kuro also,which is what I’m playing now.). Totally agree with the best moment in that one. After all we’ve been through with Rean, to see him finally accept that he can’t protect everyone, and take all the responsibility, and finally take the first step in moving on with his life was golden. There are so many great moments in all if the games that it’s hard to pick just one for each game, but that one definitely stands out to me. You play as Rean more total hours than all the other protagonists combined, and to see him finally see him step up and move on was just great. It was like watching him finally go from child to adult in one scene.

My favorite moment in trails might be when the group splits up on the pantagruel (I think), to defend it against orobourus, and atrocious raid starts up, and I realize that I'm playing with the sky characters, and the crossbell characters, and I'm just going "fuck yah, this is why I'm here"

Its quite extraordinary to frame self sacrifice as something bad, especially its usually something that pops into everyones mind when they think of an Hero. Rean saying „It didnt save them, not one bit“ nailed the scene for me

I started with the Crossbell games. I play Cold Steel 1 right now and love it. Still like Llyod and his crew more though

I completely agree about Cold Steel 2. I LOVE that scene. It's the scene that redeems the first half of Cold Steel in retrospect for me. You won't find scenes about the value of closure in many games, let alone one done so well.

The fistbump Scene in Cold Steel III was cool. I started the whole series with Cold Steel One. I roughly knew that the Zero Series has Lloyd as the main character, The Sky Series has Estelle. And after a quick research i found out that by CSIII characters from all three series are present. And as good as the writing is: I now want to know these stories. I just checked as spoilerfree as humanly possible, if it makes sense to play CSIV right next to finish the saga. But right after that i will first finish both of the old series before i start Revenerie. And that Fistbump scene made me realize there is so much more i haven´t seen. And i don´t wanna miss any.

Wow, I'm honored that my comment was one of those picked in your intro. Makes me feel all giddy inside! My list would end up quite very different frankly speaking, at least for the most part: Sky FC: "Confession". That ending dialogue between Joshua and Estelle and Joshua leaving is the one moment which for me turned Trails from "fantastic game" to "I feel like I can never find a better series". I felt such raw emotions in just how the characters expressed themselves in that moment. Little did I know I would have to wait 4.5 god damn years for the sequel to be localized...greatest pain of my life. Sky SC: The same as yours actually. Seeing that I had suffered for many years waiting for the continuation to this story, this made the wait all the more worth it. But gotta say that Kevin's true reveal and execution of Weissman is a close second. Sky 3rd: It's a small moment that I feel gets overlooked but Joshua thanking Kevin for his help on the Lost Ark. I think it speaks not just to the characters but as a a life sentiment that no matter how worthless and undeserving you see yourself, that there are people who still see value in you and are grateful to have you even knowing how you feel about it. There are so many great moments but this is one of those that I felt planted a much needed seed in Kevin's growth. Zero: Same character but not same scene, the Hayworths revealing their past to the group with Renne hiding in the Wardrobe. Hearing their story and seeing their feelings laid out while knowing Renne can finally know the truth was such a tear jerker for me. Ao: That grand reveal was great but I think I still felt more attached to the heart to heart Lloyd had with KeA at the end of the game and still can't help but laugh at the corny lines Lloyd speak out while still feeling their impact all to recomfort KeA and make her realise that she deserves happiness. CS 1: I can't say I didn't see C's reveal coming. My first instinct when seeing C along with his comrades was "Which character is close to the main party and has a name that starts with C?" and my target landed on Crow immediately. I just needed to have the explanation of how he pulled it off revealed and as far as I'm concerned, that still made this moment absolutely worth waiting for. CS2: Got to be the escape from the Pantagruel. I love that moment of Rean finally having some real faith in himself despite his predicament being one of the least favorable scenarios. CS3: This is my least favorite trails on my end, but still a fantastic game but my favorite moment is by a huge lead Ash assassinating the emperor. We had all the breadcrumbs to know something bad was gonna happen with him very early in the game but when that scene hit, I felt it so hard and I think his english VA did such a fantastic job at selling Ash's character in that moment. CS4: Same as yours and there is nothing more I can say because you expressed it so perfectly. Haven't played Hajimari so I will wait for a localization.

About to finish CS1. Can't wait to start 2 and go even further. Got into the series because it was created by the same people as the YS series, which I've loved since I tried YS 8 2 years ago

Oh man am I glad my favorite moment in the series is here. I'm referring to Estelle finds Joshua one. I've played through Sky FC and SC at least 10 times each and no matter how many times I see it, it still makes me cry. PS. I actually managed to guess each of your favorite moments apart from Hajimari, which I haven't played and CS3

My personal moments are: Sky: Weissman reveal Sky 2: Glorious segment with Estelle Third: Kevin's forgiveness Zero: Bright Future Azure: Septirrion of Zero fight/Lloyd sees Guy for one last time CS1: Showdown at Guerilla Fortress CS2: Rean Crow Showdown on the Pantagruel CS3: Chapter III Finale (Sandlot fight) CS4: Fragments/Finale Hajimari: Finale/Rean rejects his past self Great list, man. I can understand why you chose that particular scene in CS3. It made me appreciate the Crossbell series even more, particularly after playing Hajimari. I can't wait to play Gerofront's Zero and Azure back to back.

I absolutely agree with you regarding the Second Chapter reunion between Estelle and Joshua being such a strong and deserved moment (Cold Steel IV spoilers in case anyone hasn't played) I may not have an input for every single game, but I think my personal favorite moment in Cold Steel IV - and maybe the series in general - is the Black Workshop sequence; particularly when New Class VII confronts Rean, which is sort of the culmination of everything they worked for, from Juna's pep talk to Old Class VII to their independent work and research that even Randy points out... I just think it was a great moment for all 5 of them, now that they were all together again and working towards a common goal with Old Class VII... In another sense, the moment they absolutely cemented themselves as a true part of Class VII

My favorite moments? FC: Richard's redemption. SC: Between Estelle talking to her mom, Olivier taking the lead with the military (the pact) or Kevin killing Weissmann. 3rd: Renne's Door or Kevin's gehenna (I agree with you 200% on that one). Ries is kinda an underrated character. Zero: Tio's growth or yours too. Azure: Pater-Mater sacrifice or Dieter speech at the international conference or Arianrhod first encounter. CS1: Fie's growth or Goodbye Words. CS2: Towa final moment with Rean or Class 7 goodbye. CS3: Altina's realization. Aurelia vs Ariarnhod fight CS4: Juna taking the lead, Ariarnhod finale and Olivier and Schera proposal and marriage. Haji: Rufus saving Lapis or final fight against the fake sept Terrion Hard to choose just one. That is why I mention many and there is more I could mention

Boi I just finished Cold Steel 4 true ending less than an hour ago as of writing this comment. I am so happy I got to experience this because it was incredible. I think I can finally catch up to all the videos you made that talk about CS4 spoilers now too. Let's go! XD

CS1 best moment was talking to everyone before the final battle especially when talking to Patrick

Arianhrod battle and resolution also rufus stealing her powers after that might my favorite moment in the series. Not only the story, but the gameplay also is so satisfying.

I’ve played all the titles, excluding my current play through of Hajimari. Speaking of Hajimari, the Prologue was awesome. Then chapter 1 of Lloyd’s route happened...WAAAHH!!! Anyways, my absolute favorite moment in the entire series is the West Zemuria Trade Conference in Ao No Kiseki. I was on edge the entire time. Another favorite scene was the scene of all the forces being gathered across Zemuria for Operation Jormungandr in CS4. I was pumped, and super on edge.

The moment that always stuck out to me was in Cold Steel 1 with the aftermath of the fight between Laura and Fie which made them come to terms with each other. Yes the moment was amazing, but what really sold it for me was the morning after of Elliott getting bumbed out that he wasn't there to see it. It made me love Trails as a series because of how deep the story can go without actually showing it. I was always left imagining what different hijinks the other group must be going through, how the towns must look like, how the requests make them develop as students and as people, not to mention the other side characters that don't get the spotlight. I got bumbed out that I didn't get to see it myself. But that is just a part of life. The world will keep spinning whether you are there to witness it or not. Best we can get is a few comments here and there about how the field exercise went, but never the full picture. And that realisation made me fall in love with the series and made me wanna play/watch all of the other games in the series.

yeah the ao no kiseki moment broke me it took me weeks to figure out how good the writing of that scene was since it was soo good. As for hajimarai no kiseki i feel it's a journey for rean to find his true happiness and it shows him growing as a person outside of lloyd's arc of freeing crossbell. Both were a long time coming.

14:42 I wasn't expecting you to choose that moment out of all moment. ngl I cried a bit remembering back that moment, how I kinda almost bawl my eyes out just for this moment. He is not one of my Top 5 character but damn, he's changed over the years really. Can't wait to see more of him in the future.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about Millium death and all events surrounding this moment in CS3. Also the hajimari moment with Rean is one of the best moment I agreee but not near the end (seeing what still has to be accomplished in the corridor)

Honestly, while that Scene you mentioned in CSII is indeed great. I personally love the scene where Rean finally gains control of his Ogre Power. His fear of the power and it being uncontrollable held back his personal growth, and him finally overcoming that hurdle and being able to use it and advance to in skill as a practitioner of the Eight Leaves Style really stuck with me.

Im only just now realizing the improtance of the end of trails of cold steel 2. Holy shit, thank you man. That makes the game so much more great.

FC is the ending, SC is Estelle's Slap, Third is Renne's Door + the ending scene where Estelle teaches Renne, Zero no Kiseki (while Renne is my favorite character in the series, without any question the only best scene is defending the IBC building--I still get shivers), Ao no Kiseki my favorite scene is the end of chapter 4, through the entire fragment, into the start of the epilogue--runner up is the ending twist reveal before the final boss, Cold Steel I is "let me stay" and the reveal scene before that (that whole sequence is incredible), cold steel 2 is easily the osborne reveal followed by using Lloyd and Rixia against Rean and Altina, cold steel 3 is the ending, cold steel 4 is the ending, Hajimari is the fake out in the final boss scene, kuro I has a lot of amazing scenes but I'd probably pick a certain scene that anyone can guess, Kuro II is without a doubt the entirely of the intermission

These are all great moments. I haven't played Reverie so not watching that part, but I love your reasoning for all your choices in this video and your old one.

i remember the ending of cold steel 3 that really threw me into loop of emotion. the desperation, the disappointment. ah i can't forget that feeling that left me hanging until i get to play cs4.

Everytime Rean rescues Elise and they embrace.

In CS4, where Rean recovers his sense of identity and memories after being defeated by his classmates, rescuing him from the Gnome's Headquarters. That was the best.

oooh I realized you said you started with cold steel. I played in order so I already knew osborne survived it's told in the ending of the crossbell arc; and even when he does get shit initially, Lechter is just like "yeah I'm not worried"

My favorite moment of Sky the Third was the ending. It’s my favorite ending of any video game. Everyone saying goodbye with a smile. At the same time we, the player, were also saying goodbye to all these characters at the end of Sky Arc.

Having just finished CS4 last week, I'd gone back to catch-up with some of your CS4-related videos and was wondering if you'd ever do an updated top moments video-of-sorts. And well, I guess this answers that! I always love these kind of retrospectives on the highlights and fondest moments of the series, it's great stuff.

the very end of hajimari no kiseki on the screen in his soldat was my best moment.

just finished daybreak couple days ago. Honestly everytime I finish one of these games I always feel like doing a run from the beginning to just see if I missed any secret lore or mentions xD. But god I feel like I would get burned out

Nut: When I first saw Valimar on-screen, I said, "Oh My God, that completely caught me off guard" Me: Yeah, no kidding, I also wasn't expecting to play as Valimar either which was the craziest part about it

Juna shouting at Campanella to shut up will always be epic to me :p

i must agree the moment you choose in CS3 is no doubt less impactful than other moment ( Ex: millium sacrifice herself and become a sword instead of Altina making Rean consumed by the cursed going full frenzy) however those who is a long term fan and has played through Zero no kiseki and Ao no kiseki will truly appreciate that small moment

My favorite moments of each game are: Fc: the ending SC: estelle playing whereabouts of light in the lake 3rd: star door 15 Zero: renne getting caught by estelle Ao: the ending revelation Cs1: The Nord scene with rean and Alisa C2: I will remember you Cs3: class 7 reunion and altina final bond event Cs4: reunion of the 3 protagonist and Sara speech before final rivalry with cs1 title screen song Hajimari: the talk with other rean when the return for Rufus for the foreshadowing of the future and the gm talk with mcburn

MAN. Think if had to point the part that hooked me to the series {Or at the very least Cold Steel to forward} Is the whole scene during firing of the Railway Cannons to Crossbell, that OST, and plot, the RISK had my heart pumping from sheer excitement.

Cold steel 4 when valimar and millium get their consciousness back 15/10

In Cold Steel 4 when Mcburn transformed into his demon form for the first time with the Enforcer theme arrangement playing. Honesly that scene alone wasn't the best alone in the game but one of the best moments in the entire cold steel arc imo

These best moments mentioned were so good if it was animated. How I wish they release some anime related to trails series, so anime-worthy story.

The objective best moment is in Roer where Crow writes "show me them titties" as his directions for the classes' performance costumes and Rean is not even mad, hes just disappointed.

Not gonna lie, the ending of cold steel 2 when class VII said goodbye definitely brought a tear to my eye

As I've only played the Cold Steel series I'll give my favorite moments from it. CS1-Crow's reveal and Valimar. Honestly those are a hard to top moment. I mean I didn't suspect Crow at all. And Valimar was quite something upon being found and a mystery. CS2-The Corridor and Ending. It was so satisfying, and the final boss gave quite the challenge. Yet it didn't hit me there tale was over...till Millium started crying. Yet it also gave us the reassurance the bonds of Class VII was strong. CS3-The Crossbell chapter. It was emotional and Juna had probably the most human moment of any of the characters. That moment made me love the character. CS4-The Interlude. Rescuing Rean and the ensuing battle with him. It was an amazing moment and I find myself loving all of New Class VII leading up. And the moment Altina has her emotional moment made her even better than in 3.

I agree with pretty much the whole list but i gotta say my top for cs2 is definitely crows death٫ the ending was a satisfying conclusion to everyone going their separate ways but crows death just hit me in the feels. Him being my fav character and dying make me cry when i first say it and i liked how after it shows how everyone is affected.

nice sen 4 is also my favorite of the erebonia arc extremely smart opinion.

6:40 Estelle and Joshua are floating WTH?!

Sky fc major cliffhanger but loved it. cold steel 4 ending made me smile. Now just need to play the crossbell arc to complete the story

Your trails vids are top notch.

For me: Sky FC: you can't top that reveal at the end. Sky SC: When Erebonia turns up with all the tanks and Olivier reveals himself as Prince Olivert Sky the 3rd: hard to say because I love the whole game, but very possibly the heist-esque opening. Zero: Finding KeA in a suitcase Azure: Big Dog Zeit eating a guardsman. Cold Steel: The beginning when Sara drops everyone into a pit in the Old Schoolhouse Cold Steel 2: The Intermission near the end where you play as Lloyd (the quest text for killing the Jormungand (bless, you Olivier, never change) is a close second). Cold Steel 3: Josette turning up and connecting the Erebonian arc to the Liberl arc in such a delightful way! I haven't played the last two yet, but soon... (for CS4 at least)

For Sky FC in particular, I don't see how it could be any other moment. Up to that point, Trails in the Sky had been "very good." Extremely well-written characters, nice worldbuilding, the plot was a really slow burn but turned out to be solid, but ultimately, it was nothing we hadn't seen before. It did a great job with what it had, but with the exception of being more grounded/realistic and less over-the-top than most JRPGs, it wasn't reinventing the wheel. That changed in the endgame. The reveal of Ouroboros, Alba/Weissmann being revealed as the real villain and mastermind behind everything in the game, the truth about Joshua coming out, everything hit the player like a freaking backhand across the face. That (along with the mature, realistic characterization) was the exact moment that the series really took off and became something special. All of a sudden, it went from "hmm, that was a good game" to "holy shit, I need to see what happens next RIGHT NOW." As you said, last-second twists have (for better or worse) become something of a series staple, but there's nothing like that first time.

Kinda hard, since there are multiple scenes which stood out in the games, so i'll list 2 or 3 depending on events (And I only played Zero and the CS series) Zero - When Tio opens up to the rest of the SSS about her past, because it shows that underneath her cold, emotionless exterior, she's just as human as the rest of them (Plus, you could tell that they found the whole situation sickening Azure (Hard to decide on this one): Rixia being unmasked and the finale - most notably Lloyd saving Noel from herself by fighting 1 v 1 (Slightly bummed she didn't keep the white uniform though) and McDowell declaring Crois' bid for independence being null and void Cold Steel: Garrelia Fortress or the occupation of Trista Cold Steel II: Unlocking Spirit Unification (Nobody can forget the "COULD YOU NOT MAKE ME OUT TO BE SOME KIND OF PERVERT ALL THE TIME, PLEASE?!" upon the encounter with Altina during the escape)/ True Reverie Corridor Cold Steel III: Tied between The Great Twilight and the Crossbell chapter Cold Steel IV: Millium's return (When Argreion trusts Valimar with the last bit of her power), and the formation of the Empyreal Fortress (Just watching everyone become obsessed with the thought of getting revenge on Calvard, showed how much the situation had escalated) - Rean regaining his senses comes across as a close second Trails into Reverie: Rufus fighting his clone (And the fact that he mentions that the events in the Empyreal Fortress changed him), and Rean witnessing what would've happened if he had gone through with his sacrifice (The mirror)

I am still in the middle of playing through the entire series, but here, have my little festival of spoilers: Sky 1 - the introduction of Olivier. Since I waltzed into this game after already having played three parts of Cold Steel, the knowledge of who he really is was absolutely DELICIOUS to have. Also, an honourable mention to pretty much all of his banter with Mueller. Sky 2 - Renne's unmasking as an antagonist. It was exactly the kind of sucker punch twists I came for, and I was not disappointed. Cold Steel 1 - All of chapter two. Just all of it. Cold Steel 2 - Rean reuiniting with Machias. It's the first one of the bunch and I think it's the most touching one. Also it's so very, very gay. Cold Steel 3 - Rean calling Jusis out on galloping to his rescue on a white horse. The sheer self-awareness of this game is just beautiful. Cold Steel 4 - JUSIS PUNCHING RUFUS IN THE FACE. OH MY GOD. It was literally the one thing I wished would happen during their last showdown, AND THEN IT DID. Falcom, you wonderful bunch of madlads, I LOVE YOU.

I want to play the entire series again.

Sky FC : When Estelle approached Joshua with his new portrait after Weissman in the ending that took my breath away. Even the kissing is unexpected. Sky SC : The most vivid memory I had is Estelle and Joshua at the beach, the death of Loewe, and Kevin turning Weissman into salt. But if I have to choose, Estelle and Joshua at the beach is the most memorable one. Sky 3rd : This one, I almost forgot most of the scenes but I like Kevin's changed at the end. Zero no Kiseki : The scene where Lloyd is listening to Hayworth story while Renne hiding in the closet, giving Renne the push she needs to opened herself to Estelle and Joshua, that's something I would keep rewatching just for tears. Ao no Kiseki : Yeah I also got lots of good scenes here but I will choose when KeA ability as Zero Sept-Terrion is explained. That also caught me off guard. Otherwise, heh... when Lloyd fights one-on-one against Noel and he said "You will be mine!" Cold Steel 1 : For the most part, nothing really got me but I have to agree with you about Crow being main antagonist is not what I expected. Cold Steel 2 : This is the same, nothing really got into me, but the final part where they assembled together is nice. Cold Steel 3 : I got several scenes to pick at least, from the Lloyd and Rean fistbump, the final scenes which actually is hard to watch for me. And the most part since Cold Seel 2 I have been eagering to know more about Claire Rievelt, I really like her short scene with Rean. If I had to choose one.. Claire scene. Cold Steel 4 : To be honest nothing I can really say about this part, but I enjoyed new class 7 growth, to the point of the True Ending where I have hard time accepting the fact I won't see Valimar again. I really like talking to him and Ordine and see how their personality develops. I haven't play Hajimari no Kiseki as I'm waiting for the localization but hopefully I will also see some of my favourite scenes in there because I finally can fully play Lloyd team again? Maybe? I hope so.

FC: The whole ending sequence with Joshua telling Estelle the truth SC: Estelle meeting her mom (Probably the most touching moment in the series) 3rd: Has alot of great moments, but Star Door 15 can't be topped Zero: The whole intermission with KeA, specially because I talk with every NPC Ao: The fight against Arianrhod (Probably the most hyped fight in the series) Cold Steel 1: Kinda hard to pin point on in specific, maybe the whole ending scene Cold Steel 2: Talking with Thomas in the end game in new play plus Cold Steel 3: The ending sequence again? Man probably the best overall game in the series can't thing of a dull moment in it Cold Steel 4 haven't finish yet

I prooobably would have gone with Juna's scene on Orchis Tower instead of the bro bump xD, but the logic is pretty much the same either way (for CS III). And I would probably take the final scene between Estelle and Joshua in FC over the Weissman scene (but only by a hair) I think we are on the same wavelength everywhere else though!

Just realized the begining of cold steel didn't have crow or millium in cutscene despite them being there. I think the affect of the septerion of zero caused crow and millium to join class seven to help stop what we witness in hajimari, that's what I think.

Ahh my personal kiseki best moments huh... On sky fc same as you the reveal of weisman, it's just absurd lol when you got a happy scene with estelle&joshua then this guy just show up and ruin everything. Sky sc: the reveal of hamel by leowe. Sky 3rd: well renne door.... Zero: renne hiding on the closet, i tear up on this scene especially after that cursed door also you never know a small gesture of goodwill can be end up as people salvation. Ao: same as you, that plot twist is amazing, it even made me always questioning cs1& cs3 opening. Cs1: attack on garrelia fortress, the realization that this is happen on the same time with orchis tower on crossbell is epic. Cs2: divertissement chapter, i never find other rpg games that make two heroes duking it out lol Cs3: lloyd&rean brofist Cs4: arianrhod death, roselia&duvalie jp VA just so amazing in this particular scene you can really feel the sadness&anger from both of them. Hajimari: lloyd&NE rean last brofist it just beautiful that shown lloyd maybe the number 1 people that rean respect. In this scene lloyd reminding rean again about trusting the bonds of class 7 and everyone along the way.

I've only played the first Trails of cold steel on the PS3. But I still like watching the videos anyway

Sky1: Estelle confessing and Joshua choosing to leave They built up so well towards the confession, but the timing couldn't have been any worse. The way they portrayed Estelle falling apart like that was such great tragic writing. Sky2: Joshua and Estelle's final moment on the collapsing Liber Ark When I played the game, I didn't know whether they would survive, and seeing them both fall from the sky as the pillar broke was the most heartbreaking event I've experienced in a video game. I actually felt a bit angry when it turned out that they survived, because it was such an intense scene and I wanted them to stay true to how that scene was portrayed. It would have been quite an original way to end it. Sky3: Kevin revealing that he had killed Rufina Ries's response was really beautiful. She wasn't angry for what he did, but she was angry at him for carrying that burden for so long on his own. Her immediate reaction was to emphasize with Kevin, rather than herself, and it really showed what a great and caring person she is. I already liked what she had shown before, but that scene secured Ries's spot as my nr 1 waifu in the Trails series, and she still holds that spot. Zero: Renne hiding in the closet while her parents were talking to Lloyd You could tell that Renne's wall were starting to break after she saved her brother and realized that there was someone that she did care about. This was a perfect setup for a reunion, but Renne was still too scared and chose to hide herself. Renne had many misconceptions about her parents, and it was nice that she got to atleast hear them talking, but it felt so sad that they couldn't meet, for both sides, because her parents had surely suffered a lot as well. Azure: Pater Mater destroying an Aion in a kamikaze attack It's just a really bittersweet scene that highlights the depth of Pater Mater's loyalty to Renne, and it also ties up great to the ending of the previous game where Renne was handed over to Estelle. Pater Mater understood that Renne was going to be devastated if they "died", but they also knew that Renne cared a lot about Crossbell and her real family that lived there. Also, by having made sure that Renne was able to accept Estelle into her life, Pater Mater knew that Renne would be in good hands even if they no longer existed. I just found this whole self-sacrifice of Pater Mater to be really touching. It's a really beautiful expression of love and loyalty from the unlikeliest actor, and seeing Renne crying over her lost friend felt like such a suitable ending to that chapter of her life. Now it was time to move on to having a more normal life. CS1: Rean revealing his powers to save Elise This scene is when I started to really understand and appreciate Rean. The moment before, they had argued about Rean's plans for the future, and at first I didn't get all the nuances, but after Rean's secret was revealed, things started to fall in place about why Rean was always so dispassionate, so helpful and disciplined, but yet always holding back and looking down on himself. It was about shame and fear. And this explained why he wanted to distance himself from his family and why he kept his classmates at a distance when it comes to his own life and identity. He was always great at getting close to others, but he could never let anyone get close to him. This habit remained with him throughout the entire series. On top of that, it was a really cool scene that introduced a cool power and had one of the best battle themes in the series and also put some well deserved spotlight on Patrick and Crow. This event is probably what sparked the friendship between Rean and Crow, and I think that this is also when Patrick started to change his views on Rean. CS2: Crow's death and aftermath First the heartbreaking ending and then Rufus shows up and spoils everything and turns the narrative upside down. Just a perfect storm of tragedy and wtf. CS3: The ending Starting with the airplane being blown up, Millium dying, Rean going berserk. Everything just went to hell and so fast. Definately the most brutal ending I've ever experienced in a game. CS4: Altina waking up from the coma dream and crying when realizing what had happened to Rean and that Millium was dead CS3 spent a lot of time explaining Altina's inability to relate to human emotions. She was struggling with making personal decisions. She always talked like a robot, she rejected expressions of affection and was insecure about not being a complete human. Seeing her cry for the first time was really shocking, but it showed how much she had grown, mostly thanks to Rean, Juna and Millium, and now two of them were either dead or in shambles.

To me the #1 greatest moment is Ao No Kiseki, a scene where estelle,josh & renne/pater mater fight off againsy that powerful Ourboros Anarchism/Gear and Kevin & sister Reis and the S.S.S vs the third one. So much climax. #2 Trails SC the Luciola part where she puts Estelle to sleep and she remembers her mom, that scene makes me cry every single time. #3 would be sky 3rd, forgot which door but its where Olivert Calls out Osborne in the fanciest way. Cold Steel series has cool scenes, anything involving the enforcers or Shirley lol

I have some idea for Kiseki/Trails name in far future, the name in Japanese always follow same structure but the English one always have different conjunctions. Here some list i think : 1. Hoshi (Star) 2. Ten (Heaven) 3. Hikari (Light) 4. Shiro (White)- Maybe for sequel of Kuro no Kiseki 5. Ken (Sword) 6. Tsuki (Moon) 7. Shin (Truth) 8. Genjitsu (Reality) 9. Owari (End) - Maybe for Final Series

I just started on cs3 and i haven’t played any other trails games.Wich ones should i play after cold steel?

I just wish you got a better ending scene with your romance choice in cold steel 1-4. But otherwise its not a bad game series I have enjoyed my time with it, And this is a decent list.

Can only agree with Sky FC/SC scene and CS2/3/4 scenes since im replaying the games currently (atm on Sky 3rd playing for the first time since i skipped it ._.") they are so impactful and damn the scene in FC/SC voiced with the patch did up the whole moment a lot more tbh. Also damn Tita's mother Erika is thirsty to bully Agate (only in CH1 of Sky 3 atm XD") Since ill have to play Ao/Zero and ofc Hajimari im looking forward what will be in store for me (skipped the scenes) but uff CS1 i dont remember that much "good" moments overall but i guess the reveal of Crow as mastermind was great :o

You know what’s funny about trails games though? A lot of characters like Joshua and Renne litterally KILLEDand murdered dozens of people, yet nobody said a thing, then when Crow went back to the group or Georg tried to commit suicide they told them that not all of what they did can be forgiven, but they have to redeem themselves and live with what they did. Kinda ruins the mood when i think about it when they litterally welcomed enforcers and assassins in their friends circle.

For me, one of the best moments was "Yay. I did it, right?". An actual character death. Sadly it didn't stick, of course. Do not get me wrong, I love Millium, however if there is one thing this series needs, is more death that sticks. Osborne, Millium, Olivert, Victor, Toval, Angelica, to name a few. Oh and Crow died 3 times, I think? First in CS2. Then in CS4 he "dies" at the Rivalry. Then again at the ending. Except each time he survives, in various ways. Again, love Crow, he is one of my fav chars. However going forward in the series now I will never, ever feel like there are any stakes. Battles have no tension, and big events like ships blowing up does neither. For a series with so many games, you can count the number of big character deaths on one hand. And that includes both good guys and bad guys. That is why Millium's death, when it seemed it would be permanent (since she became a fricking sword) had such a huge impact on me. It's not a favorite moment because it made me happy, but because it had a bigger impact than most. Of course after CS4, I now know that was just another fake-out, and will never feel concerned about characters ever again xD (I know this rant makes it sound like I hate the series, but I love it with all my heart and soul. My fav game series of all time. I just feel this is the one glaring issue with it.)

Have you considered doing a list ranking the Doors in the 3rd? That could be a fun list, especially when viewed in the context of subsequent games

I still dont understand why many fans disliked cs1. The origin story, lore, the broken master quarts, setting up for the sequels, character developments, and academy life was fun for me. The only trails game ive platinumed in the series and yes ive played all of them up to cs4. Trails fans are quite stubburn lol.
