This guy is awesome and his highly skilled while I would not personally advocate some of the one handed techniques, my money would be on him in a production race against some of these self appointed "experts" on this forum. They probably wouldn't last a day in his normal working environment.
@OveBakken2 жыл бұрын
I don't really get why using only one hand is such a no-no. If the saw is pulling away from the user (like it is in this case), and there's no danger of kickback, then why not rest your hand and arm since you can.
@mikeman5842 жыл бұрын
Ove Bakker - I did a couple of chainsaw courses and it was emphasised on a rear handled saw don't use one handed. In terms of this operator he is at another level, he does loads of hours per year and looks to have all his limbs so ?? Thank you for your reply 🙏
@notmyname38832 жыл бұрын
Oh, for crying out loud! It's clear he was simply demonstrating for us, the viewer, how well the saw cuts just under its own weight. No pushing. No levering. Give a guy a break, critics! *I was thinking of misspelling something in this so the other grammarnazis would have something to yap at but.................

Never hold a chain saw like that. You will not be able to stop a kickback.
@ng-iq4kx4 жыл бұрын
There's an old professional logger with the nickname 1 finger. He got to complacent with his skills and started using 1 hand ( just like you're doing ). The chainsaw wasn't having any of that. So it taught him a lesson and took 4 fingers in a trick called- KickBack
@Boost_Addict3 жыл бұрын
2 Hands or put the saw down..
@Era-lk1lo2 жыл бұрын
Look and assess is the most important,the professional logger mustn't have been paying attention to the tip of his blade when using one hand, a lot of cuts once you start them you are just following where the blade is angled from the start of your cut, so you should know if it is safe to one hand and if there is any obstacles in the way
@samuelrobinson901211 ай бұрын
It's where tip of bar is to cause kickback
@Saws_Performance4 жыл бұрын
5:53 you just had a massive luck that saw didn't kicked back while cutting this log with another log behind, one had saw operating and you can see chain just started to lick this log behind, it would cut your face open...

Allthough i appreciate this guy is an experienced user, lots of people without any experience learn by observation, and might start with onehanded work. Bear in mind some of them should stay away from chainsaws a fair distance at all times.

that thing looks good. I understand why you call it a hobby saw. because it would not hold up to pro tree work every day use. for me as a lawn guy. I use it like a homeowner. would be nice

Yes exactly, not for professional use every day and not for a very strong stormy.For the homeowner is an ideal helper!

Thanks for the video. In my experience, seed oils (vegetable oils) make a sticky, gummy mess (Bipol is predominantly rapeseed oil) which is easily oxidized PUFAs (poly unsaturated fatty acids), but I can't argue against whatever works for you. I have older saws, so I need to stick with straight 20 or 30 weight oil.

Nice video! This saw is light and easy to use for small to medium sized jobs. It is great for occasional use. I use it with Aspen 2 premixed fuel, 50:1, and add Husqvarna semisynthetic oil to achieve a 40:1 fuel mix. This is just my own preference, the saw is rated for 50:1. Greetings from Beautiful British Columbia, where gorgeous forests abound. Ahoj!

In the market for a new chainsaw and this is one on my list, do they all start on a higher idle like that until you blip the throttle? It does look like a nice little saw though
@cgriebel1 Жыл бұрын
I just brought one home today from a local dealer here on Long Island, and yes, the high idle is part of the choke/high idle mechanism and works perfectly. I knew it was going to be a bit lean on the low speed, and the starting procedure they call for confirms this, as once you push the choke down once click after it initially pops, you pull again and it fires up at the high idle speed. If you had set the brake, release it as it picks up revs so you don't burn up the clutch drum. If you tap the throttle trigger too soon, the saw has not had enough time to build a little heat, and you'll have to really work that throttle to keep it alive. Leave it in the high idle mode for half a minute (max) and you're off to the races, albeit it's obviously still a bit lean as you can see the various off-idle stumbles in the vid. No biggie... just get the 21 splined compact driver, insert this into the low-speed needle port, and give the saw another 1/8th or so of fuel. I put two heat cycles in mine this afternoon just pissing around with it, and the first time I got it started, I blipped the throttle after maybe 5 seconds of the high idle setting, and for sure, I could barely keep it running. Next start, I left it run on the high setting for a solid 15 seconds, blipped the throttle, and it was pretty much fine. After determining this carb did not have limiter plugs (only needed the required the spline driver), I gave the low speed an eighth richer. I'll be using it tomorrow, and I'm confident a slight re-tune will get this saw perfect. Either way, their high idle feature works as prescribed, and is effective. From the user manual, after the normal instructions for the first few steps: 13. Run 20-30 seconds at elevated idle speed. 14. Pull the throttle trigger lightly to set normal idle. 15. Run 20-30 seconds at normal idle. 16. Use the product

@sirtheodorethelll6334 жыл бұрын
Joshua Jollie no it good since it’s new you need to oil the chain up by reving it
@GoshGollie4 жыл бұрын
Sir Theodore the lll the chain is oiled at idle. I have the same chainsaw thats in the video and it will lube the chain so much while just at idle that it drips off the bar after sitting for long enough. There is literally no need to rev the saw up like that and is bad for the saw’s engine no matter which way you slice it.
@em47033 жыл бұрын
@@GoshGollie It's literally in the manual of all 2 strokes. You don't let them idle to warm up, you blip the throttle. 2 strokes are bad at "cleaning" themselves at low rpm or low cylinder temps. What he did is good, he didn't started it and went full WOT, that would indeed be a problem.
