The mobile shield does turn, you have to move to the opposite direction in which you want it to go, IE you have to be to its right and then reping the the left of it to get it to turn to the left, or in front of it to get it to turn around.

Yeah, I meant to correct myself in recording. During the live stream I mentioned it. It turns really slow, still recommend placing it down correctly to start with.

On my mouse my thumb button is my q! If you throw it out thin continue hitting that button the shield will go in the targeted direction. ENJOY😌

Lifeline clearly synergizes with Newcastle by having Nc throw a tac shield when Lf revives. Remember old lifeline? Here she is!

Solves the fighting issue of who revives too. The answer should always be both! I like that positive attitude. But seriously having both on a team that's careful about their team movement with a mobility legend or a Wattson/Gibraltar will be terrifying. Now if they just rework lifeline and give her a more meaningful ultimate or tactical...

Keep in mind that if you get hit by revenant's tactical then your passive is down and will do a normal revive. Seems obvious but can mess you up big.

His passive is pretty op literally guaranteed res with gold or purple knockdown and with a gold back you can literally get your teamate back to fighting right away

I like how the 2 counters of Newcastle (Fuse and Mad Maggie) are the two people that have been closest to Lifeline of late. Almost like they are protecting her viability.

You can turn the shield by holding your tactical button and turning your body. It’s too early to be dropping an actual compromised guide atm, maybe “Newcastle tips” is a better title, but I did learn a couple things so ty nonetheless.

I noticed in fireing range it took only 2 melee hits to destroy the new castle wall. Forgot to test it with a friend to see if it shocks when punching though. I'm super excited as a wattson main to have a Newcastle

The castle wall is charged with electricity (which can stun enemies who get in contact with it) for 30 seconds after it's built.

I feel like we're underestimating the power of newcastle & lifeline. He can drag team mates behind cover for lifeline to auto res or even throw his shield infront a lifeline res while they both apply cover fire

Just felt like its important : hitting someone with the tactical or the stun from the castle wall does 20 damage to non-fortified legends

As a lifeline main, I really appreciate the proactive kit of Newcastle vs lifelines reactive kit... it kinda weird to say, "I'm just here for when we screw up" or for when in a bad position. I've always been told that in games you usually gain better advantage when you have resources to hit vs plan to be in a very bad spot.

For those wondering how to turn the shield consistently, try clicking on the sides of the shield. I usually click on the bottom (right for right turn, same thing for left).

There's actually a bigger synergy with Newcastle and Loba, essentially if a Newcastle uses ult to shield an ally Loba and she teleports he'll redirect himself and immediately fly to the location she teleported as long as he hasn't touched the ground. Only thing that's tricky is the timing

Rampart n him are the best 1. His ult the lower part you place rampart wall. The bottom of her shield won’t get shot so if you want to shot rampart shield you have to go through Newcastle n while u do that you’re wasting ammo because there two side to place it. You can also had his tactical there 2. You can use his tactical then put rampart wall up then lower the top half of Newcastle shield now the bottom won’t get shot. Now if his shield is done or gets shot you can rampart place a second shield behind you facing same direction n opposite from enemy fire n will Newcastle tactical is done you just back to the wall behind you n you set up

Dazs, you had a gold helmet on, and the CD on the tactical is around 15 seconds! You can also change the direction that the cover will deploy mid-air by changing your direction!

You can use newcastle's ultimate to make a temporary zipline and break the wall when your enemies are above a bad spot.

Just a note about synergy with Path and Newcastle, pairing their ultimates allows you to effectively remove your own Zipline so enemies cannot use it to get to your highground. Path can grapple up to height, Newcastle can leap up to him with Ult, then Path can stand atop the Wall and place a zip for the 3rd teammate and if at any point you want to get rid of your Zip, you can just get Newcastle to collapse the relevant piece of his wall. Niche, sure, but potentially useful I think.

a couple things if you drop your knockdown sheild and pick it up it’s recharged. also you can change the direction you just have to redirect it while standing close to it and redirect it close to you just facing the way you wanna go

If you use the tactical before a valk ult it will extend upwards to cover you just a bit more, i discovers this whole play with a friend. I played the wall then he activated the valk ult and joined it

Fun fact you can block of doors with the ult, if you hover the ult over the door it will show it covering the whole doorway it'd helped a few times I needed to heal 😂

You can turn the q in different directions but it is finicky in how it works but if you throw it forward you can turn it around

Id definitely prefer 500 health tactical with a 15 second cooldown, or a 200 health 15 second cooldown that refreshes while its still up. Maybe 20 seconds, depending on how strong that would be

New castle and rampart gonna be so good. So with New castle ultimate u have two half walls where if u stand behind u can get shot. If u place rampart walls behind the 2 half walls u get full cover in the front and u get a damage boost from rampart walls. New castle half walls can protect ramparts walls during placement. If u put sheila behind rampart walls which is behind new castle walls I thing u should have a winner for sure

Very interesting! I never knew his knock down shield is tied to his passive nor did I know I can lock-on to a friendly with his ult (it'll make it easier to reach teammates who have pushed too far and have gotten knocked)! Thanks for sharing all this info.! And his tact can certainly be destroyed lol I've had so many people laser down his shield. You would have thought there were no other enemies in the game lol Also, when I was playing with some club members yesterday, one of them was completely set on the idea that Bangalore is perfect for Newcastle. I think Bang is just good regardless tbh. But I did have a match with a Rampart and a Fuse, and I have to say that have a Rampart and Newcastle is very good for defense. The Fuse worked really well too because he highlighted two people behind a rock and I had already set up my ult some ways in front of him and could see the enemies highlighted. I pinged that I was pushing up and from which side and Fude chucked nades. I pushed from one side using my tactical while Rampart pushed from the other. This could just be situational though

you can shoot a teammates Newcastle tac with Maggie's tac and have it move forward to burn enemies. not particularly powerful but HILARIOUS and fun

Assuming you end up using your mobile shielded revive often, a Loba on your team can be pretty nice to have to get more Knockdown shields more consistently. Just a small tip. Thanks for the video though.

HOW THE SHIELD ACTUALLY TURNS:::: It turns if you're looking at it. Look at the floor or to the side of it and it won't turn, look at the shield and it will turn to where you're facing. This works from every direction, and double tapping does nothing. Every other person that "knows how to turn it" is doing some variation of positioning themselves/their aim in such a way that they're looking at the shield.

If you play as Fuse or Mad Maggie, you can stick your tactical to NewCastle’s tactical and have a mobile version of those two tacticals!

If you are out of "range" of the shield you can't change directions the shield is facing, you must be close to the shield to turn it. Think standing behind Ramparts cover, than face a different direction tap your tac button and it will face that direction you are faced.

The more you rez and cancel the rez, the faster your teammate's rez counter goes down so try not to spam it too much. You can kill your teammate that way

1 thing I've notice is hes a bit stronger at pushing fights by having his mobile shield lead in front him and just walk up on enemies behind it. Its mobility also makes it good to peak from in 1v1s

I think they've done a great job with Newcastle and I think it will at least give pro teams some pause. Still a tough sell over Gibby in his current state but we'll see. The only thing I think is a GLARING oversight is...why on earth does the Maggie ball do bugger all against that wall. She is meant to be the siegebreaker character. I'd expect an ult like that to be able to at least smash off the first piece of wall section it hits. And no, I do not even play Maggie. It's just...confusing what that ult is meant for if not breaking down a fortification.

I'm not sure she's supposed to be the seigebreaker character though. Her kit lends more to the idea of adding anarchy and disorganization to the enemy team. She's supposed to move in quick and break up enemy lines like a shock trooper. Her ball doesn't do anything to other defensive legends either like wattson or Caustic. Both their tacticals stay up

@@ezramiller8936 I'm saying it should do more to some of that sort of stuff. It's one of the weakest ults in the game. I've watched high level streamers use Maggie and the only real solid use for it is breaking a door down when they enter a building and *hopefully* stunning someone. It should be able to take out one caustic barrel or one wattson fence or one piece of Newcastle fort. I'd say that is pretty damn reasonable.

@@Dommomos hey man, I would say that would be a reasonable tweak, but honestly it's an ultimate. Let's cry havoc and have it target nearby enemies or buildables on at least 3 of its bounces to stun or destroy/activate them. Trade that for the ball having a health pool slightly larger than cryptos drone. Makes it counterable if played dumb so it isn't an insta squade wipe with all three players stunned but causes the max amount of confusion and discoordination possible.

@@ezramiller8936 there's many ways the Devs could go with it but ultimately they are putting quite a lot of fortification defenses in the game with little to counter it (beyond your team burning through half your ammo pool). Fuse and Maggie seem like they were designed for this (being from Salvo) but Maggie just doesn't really have the oomph that a giant metal wrecking ball suggests. It truely does seem like an oversight given it can break doors down.

This vid is rlly meh for actual tips, for his tactical u can bubble fight with it just like gibby if u wanna be aggressive & a good way to counter an enemy using the tactical is shoot out the bottom part as it forces them to crouch to fire back while u can shoot them for "free", the tactical can also be placed onto the vehicles if u want a really aggressive push doh tbh the only real use of it is throwing it on ur feet for quick cover. The ulti on the other hand is really good for covering teammates who are out of position or out in the open & has a really quick recharge time, u can also lock-on to teammates while u are behind cover as well, however there is a VERY HUGE problem with the ult where if u land on an enemy's head ur shields DO NOT deploy at all & also its like a valk ult where during initiation u can be easily beamed down
