A great 37 mins of automotive education, thanks for the shout out with my MGTF. It was a great day until the heavens opend! Good to catch up again 🇬🇧

My Grandad had a white MG Metro new in 86. It looked great but he ended up going back to an SD3 River 200. Love that G16 with its classic race car design. TVR never failed to make each car madder than the last, they always stunned motor show goers every year I remember the XK8 launching with that front grill giving a hint of E Type. The Dolly Sprint must have been really in a class of its own with a 16v engine back in the 70's. I think the Europa were available with both Renault and Ford engines. The MK1 Elise still looks great and was definitely one of my dream cars growing up. Saw a Mk6 Escort cabriolet last year but not seen a Mk5 cabby for a while. I really like the Hilman Imp (or the Singer) in any configuration. They have a bit of a following these days but I think had the mini not come along would have been even more successful. I remember the Noble getting positive reviews with the only criticism being if limitations from using it's Ford derived engine and gearbox. Those V8 versions of the River 75 and MG are incredibly rare, dint think I've ever seen the Rover version close up. I've seen two P6 V8 S models over the past few years, one red and the other yellow. Always get excited to spot an S The Jenson Healer certainly were rare with many going to export. I saw one on Drive it Day. The Bond Equipe are becoming one of my favourite cars as I already like the Herald and Vitesse which it's based upon. I've seen both these later models and the earlier ones now in coupe and convertible. Those droop snoot Vauxhall's always remind me of the Mad Max car. 😅 When I was in the ATC one of the officers had a yellow Triumph Spitfire and I've liked them ever since. Palmer did indeed design the Magnetite and the Pathfinder. I only found this out after noticing the similarity in the placement of the door handles a few years ago. Nice to see a proper clubman 1275GT. Seen a few SS2 but don't think I've seen a sabre in the show circuit.

Thanks Simon, it was a cracking day with a decent mix of cars but strangely a lack of the usual BMC cars. Looking forward to the BMC/Leyland show for that!

It was also enjoyable for us, the viewers, as much as it was for you to attend and share your day and knowledge. Thank you very much.

I'd feel better about supporting your channel. I'm sure others will have mentioned this to you. Let me know sometime if that's possible. You deserve that financial contribution. I'm not looking for extra content or privileges. I'm really enjoying the content so much

@scottbrady8374 many thanks, possibly I might do something in the future along those lines, but just watching, liking and subscribing is incredibly helpful to get the videos to a wider audience!

The Consul convertible may have been done by Carbodies in Coventry as they did the MK2 Consul convertible as I used to see them on the production track in the paintshop as they sometimes opened a small side door to factory and as a 11 year old I often saw them on the track.

5:25 Something of a pity that the bean counters at Rootes couldn't find the funds to make a new rear door with the coke bottle kick up taken out of it for the Imperial. Not only would it have differentiated itself from Humbers of the previous decade and resulted in a more classic shape.

I agree they could have differentiated more… from distance a Hawk, Snipe and Imperial are not massively different

British cars are the best in design like the Italian cars

Dad had a 1978 Daimler Sovereign. There was a switch to change the fuel supply for left to right tank or vice versa. Glad to see the Dolly Sprint. I had 3 !. Good times.... Thanks for the video. Although it's a shame the diversity has long gone from the car industry and many of those you filmed are from a bygone era. Are Bristol still going ?

Thanks Kevin, I love a dolly sprint myself, they seem tiny by comparison with today’s cars. I often wondered about those twin tanks… just don’t think about the fuel consumption. I think all Bristol assets (up until the Fighter) were up for sale but no sure what this means for the brand… a bit sad if this iconic and idiosyncratic brand has gone!
