I think people my age (28) really don't realize how common it used to be to take guns to school. My father told me that once, in middle school, his friend brought his father's Luger to school to show off to his friends (this would have been the late 60s). The teacher came in, wondered what a bunch of boys were doing huddled around one desk, and peered in. He saw the gun, and his response was "Oh, put that thing away!" Like, he wasn't even concerned that a student had a gun, he was just annoyed that he was interrupting class. My scoutmaster once told us that, when he was in high school in the 70s, it was fairly common for boys to bring their guns to school, keep them in their lockers and go hunting right after class. I remember in high school learning about a supreme court case. Back in the late 80s or early 90s, a kid (I think in Texas of all places) brought a rifle to school because he was planning to sell it to a classmate that day. He put it in his locker, but apparently that particular school had a "no gun" rule. Somehow it went to the supreme court, who ruled that the school's rule was constitutional. I remember one of my classmates being genuinely confused, because he just couldn't understand how the kid could possibly think that it would be OK to bring a gun to school, under any circumstances.

The whole point of this show is to poke fun at everyone alike. Everyone has drastically differing opinions in this show but they all get together for the BBQ at the end of the day. It's wholesome as hell. These conservative archetypes are the butt of the joke the same as anyone else. It's sad that people think humanism, politics and opinion can't all come into the same conversation. Coming from a literal 'far leftist.' I love this country for it's diversity and the fact that our perceived factions don't have to define us

I know one thing, Hank(and others like Hank) would be baffled with British conservatives, for they are a different animal from American right-wing.

My two favorite moments were Dale genuinely thinking rather than deflected when informed the NRA is based in D.C. and Hank genuinely curious about that Dale's method for overturning the 19th Amendment would have been.

Not sure if this was intentional, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the characters about to beat up Bill for wearing a dress back at the Hill home. Even Joe Jack never seemed to be at any bbqs or parties after this. Seems like Hank decided to cut the scumbags out of his life and keep them away.
