i wonder if its same situation as michael jackson being on simpsons.
@SergeantExtreme3 жыл бұрын
@@mrkozak No, sadly the Michael Jackson situation was much worse. Sony Records claimed they owned the copyright to Michael's animated image, so if the animator's actually drew Michael himself, Sony threatened to sue. Michael Jackson really wanted to star in a Simpsons episode (even if he had to voice another character to do so), so the writers came up with the character of Leon Kompowsky for Michael Jackson to voice. In fact, the writers were so scared that Sony would sue anyways, that they credited the voice to "John Jay Smith". Also, Michael Jackson wasn't allowed to sing in the episode either (for the same reasons), so they had Kipp Lennon do the singing.

Often I wouldn’t even realize it was celebrity voiced till the end credits. These days with things like The Simpsons it’s so obnoxiously in your face. Lisa: “Oh my gosh, it’s pop sensation Lady Gaga!” Lady Gaga: “Hi ya’ll, the entire episode is about me!”
@Mechaghostman23 жыл бұрын
@@AStrategyGameDev The Simpsons have had celebrities play characters that aren't themselves, too. But the Simpsons was mostly a satire of the real American family and of pop culture. So ofc they'd throw some real celebrities in there as they are. King of the Hill also had Randy Travis in there. The 90's Simpsons, King Of The Hill, Family Guy up until around season 5 or so, Futurama, South Park, these shows all had a mix of subtle and straightforward jokes, celebrity guests and characters done by celebrities, and etc. One of them isn't really any better than the other at it.
