Those who knew her suffered with her through her life with Guru Dutt until her misery was put to rest at age 42 . She is the very BEST female playback singer of her times . The Mangeshkar sisters hated her (nothing new !) simply because they couldn't sing like her with deep emotional,melodious and haunting voice !! Lata is especially the meanest singer in Bombay at that time ;everyone hated her including Shanker and Jai Kishen ! May Ms.Geeta rest in peace. I miss her very dearly.Venkat.
