Gus is a good sportscaster, he used to do Jacksonville Jaguars preseason games from 2003 to 2005.

Gus is doing the NCAAs this year as one of the top 4 announcers again. CBS Sports just released their NCAA Tournament Press Release. James Brown is out of the tournament completely!

JB also played college ball for Harvard and got drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 1973. I guess Sean McManus thought that since knowing the game was a natural for JB, lets make him one of the top 4 basketball announcers for the tournament. He is a star emmy-winning broadcaster, something Gus isn't. He worked the tournament for CBS from 1984-94. 1994 was the last time, prior to 2007, that JB called an NCAA basketball game. I think JB will have a small role in the NCAAs this year.

Gus is back this year. I wonder why Gus, the youngest of Enberg, Lundquist and Nantz, was demoted? That puzzles me. The reason he was demoted was because of the hire of Fox NFL Sunday's James Brown, who started at CBS Sports as a college basketball analyst in 1984.When CBS lost the NFL in 1994, JB went to Fox. Wanting to do both College Basketball and the NFL, JB went back to CBS.

I enjoy the Breen/Van Gundy/Jackson team also. If ABC/ESPN breaks this team up, it's going to be a long 7 years. But, if Van Gundy and Jackson leave because of an NBA team wanting them to coach or handle front office work, then I would understand.

I dunno, I don't like some of ABC's guys but Mike Breen/Jeff Van Gundy/Mark Jackson at least I think are a pretty good team. Breen is one of the top 3 play-by-play guys behind Gus and maybe Marv Albert still, Jackson doesn't talk much but I love "Momma there goes that man" and Van Gundy is just funny... and makes good points sometimes.
