Brazilian Portuguese is pretty different from the original one in accent. Many Brazilians don't understand it, but the opposite is true, most Portuguese people understand us really well. It's due to the amount of content we produce, and also to the amount of people running away from Brazil and seeing Portugal as the best option. Portugal is even considered by many as a Brazilian "state", as it has the second biggest amount of BR people outside Brazil (USA is the first).
