24:00 When i was a teen, we went on holiday to Majorca. We met a young German lad who had been living in England for a year for school, so he had picked up our sense of humour. One night, we were leaving the disco at about 2am, and as he walks away after we all say good night he said "i go put my towel out now!" and we all fell about laughing.

Ronnie Biggs worked at Channel 10 Adelaide in set constraction. A journalist walked past hm in the canteen one day they put two and two together at their desk....... By the time the cops came, he'd done a runner. But yes,correct - their fingerprints were all over the Monopoly game!

You CAN smoke cannabis mixed with tobacco as long as you keep your tobacco hidden. Once its in the joint the police dont have the right to open up your joint so you're fine. Outside, you csn smoke whatever, wherever, just around central station and the old city centre, you might get a fine....but probably not as most inhabitants AND the police oppose the restriction. I know this because i work in a coffeeshop in the centre of Amsterdam and explain these ridiculous rules daily.

I had a great time in Amsterdam for obvious reasons, and every coffeeshop I visited offered straight cannabis, cannabis with tobacco and cannabis with hash prerolled. It was genuinely this episode of Qi that set my expectations for how difficult it would be to have a spliff in your wonderful city.

At 19:42 - number of president. When you write a "4", it can be mistaken for an "A", and "5" can be mistaken for an "S", and when you write "TRE45ON" it spells Trump - who was the 45th.

Galileo’s reasoning about gravity and falling was stupid. He said that if a light object falls slower than a heavy object, then if you attach them together, the light one will slow the heavy one down, and the heavy one will speed the light one up, which is impossible, therefore they must fall at the same speed. Although his conclusion - that they fall the same speed - is correct, but he’s not correct that it’s impossible to have one thing speeding another up, and the opposite doing the opposite. It’s essentially what a parachute is - the parachute slows down the person, and the person makes the parachute speed up.

@zirk007. His humour comes from acute and subtle observation. It is self-mockery in that he projects a certain kind of over-the-top Welsh earnestness. The “character” has no sense of humour whatever. And that is very funny in itself. You either get it or you don’t.
