Make sure you are using pepper gel. The spray is a mist and can blow right back into your face. The gel is much safer. Trust me on that. Happy trails! :)

Been tear gassed by riot police(I was a bystander trying to escape the area) and exposed to an old army XM58 CS grenade.. Never peppers prayed though... Since I don't get myself in BS situations, hopefully I won't get to add that to the list.

I've been driving for 22 years, and i think i've seen 3 things that would be worth anyone else wanting to watch that weren't also my own fault to some extent. I don’t know what the laws are in Maine, but even my Driver Education instructor reached over to honk the horn at 2 bicycle cops hogging the road downtown. There’s bike lanes and sidewalks downtown. They didn’t do anything to him cuz they knew he was right. I was 15 and shitting myself in the driver seat but it felt really cool when we drove away without anything bad happening to us lol

That's right. It's also funny how some people put a 'baby on board' sign on their car expecting you to be careful. So many of those drivers make dumb moves/turns exposing those same babies to additional danger. If you're a driver with a baby in your car, you are the one who has to be extra careful.

I remember taking defensive driving classes when I was a teenager. My instructor said 2 things that I'll never forget when there's another driver with rage. First, always drive to the nearest police station or law enforcement facility if the other driver is following you and do not return home until you're in the clear. Second, never get out of the car to confront the other driver. That driver can pull out a gun and you're dead on the street and chances are that shooter can get away with murder if they have a good lawyer who can influence the jury to believe the driver acted in self-defense. Never engage with road rage drivers.

Same here. I Volunteered at a Hospital at the time. An OPP Officer came to give Us some safety tips. He said "The safest place to go is the ER and LAY on the Horn. The other driver will get out of there or act all Innocent. If not, head to a Fire Station, same rules and or the Police Department. They will usually back off and take off. NEVER head home." I was also told to look straight ahead, not to maintain eye contact nor react in anyway.

I agree. In many cases the person with the dashcam is being an idiot and instigating a fight for some silly reason. I ignore horns that are just blown to "yell" at me because I did something they didn't like (like drive too slow or not let them cut me off). I typically give people enough space. If they need to get somewhere quicker and need my lane to do it, fine.

Drivers still need to give at least 3 feet when passing a cyclist, according to most state laws. Drivers usually never give that much space if the cyclist is hugging the shoulder, either because they don't care or they don't see the cyclist. Since the lane is quite narrow, it's actually safer for the cyclist to ride closer to the middle. This forces drivers to pass through the other lane, giving the required 3 feet of clearance. Also for those saying it's a bike lane, it's not. It's just the gutter/shoulder. And if you really want bikes off the road, advocate for actual separate bike lanes, we'll appreciate it.

im not sure thats what happened, i have 5 siblings and most of the time kids say these things just to talk. all kids do it. they were stressed about the situationa dn didnt understand the possible danger of it. as someone who grew up in unsafe neighborhoods when i was younger, it bothered me that the kid was continuing to talk both during and after the stressful encounter.

@@mr__southern1492 I had a similar thing happen to me, only I was the one who caused the gravel to hit the truck behind me…only I didn’t know I did it. My buddy lives in a really expensive HOA, so the majority of the vehicles are brand new or high end expensive. As I was leaving the development, I didn’t realize the main road had a bunch of loose gravel from the county putting a layer of oil and gravel down before sealing it. As I turned left to merge onto the main road, a vehicle came around a corner and quickly accelerated towards me. I was already committed to the turn; and fearing I would cause an accident if I slammed on my brakes, I floored it. My truck is a 2019 Ram Rebel and it has insane response time. I got to a four way stop about a half mile down the road and notice a older guy in a really nice truck behind me waving his arms and yelling out his window. I rolled down my window and realize he was yelling at me. By this time I was driving through the intersection though, so I figured I would pull over as soon as I had room to see what he was yelling for. He ended up turning, and I figured if I were to try to follow him, it would escalate whatever the issue was. I just went home. About a month later, I was headed back over to my buddy’s house. As I was driving the streets in the development, I noticed a really nice truck that looked like the one that was behind me at that 4 way stop. Then I see the guy in his garage. He saw me and just stared. I stopped and asked if he was the guy who was yelling. He said he was and started walking really fast towards me. I asked what was he yelling? He said when I took off, I kicked up a bunch of gravel right into the front of his truck new truck. I immediately apologized and told him if I damaged his vehicle in anyway, I would pay for the repairs. That stopped him and he said it was all good. I told him about the car that came around the corner I hadn’t seen before turning myself. He said he wondered why I did that because he had seen my truck a few times and appreciated how slow I alway drove through their streets. I told him I was going to pull over and talk, but he turned and I figured if I tried to follow, it could escalate things. He said it was probably for the best, seeing as how he was disabled and he would have hurt himself trying to fight. I told him I was disabled too, so we would have been two cripples wrestling on the ground. We both laughed and compared injuries. In the end, he and I shook hands and went our ways. Anytime I saw him after that, he always waved.

He's not trying to instigate anyone. Primary example is when he honks at the guy, that guy slams on his brakes and then get's out with a bat. He was the one causing an issue. The other driver didn't follow him for taking a wide turn, he followed him because the guy spit up gravel and it hit his car. I don't recommend following anyone but when someone intentionally does something to damage your car they are liable for damages. Insurance claims can still be filed for this stuff.

You can't ride your bike on the sidewalk in a lot of states. He was right, some states that space between the line and the sidewalk is the bike lane, but clearly where he was that wasn't the case. That line was just about connected to the curb.

I'll let someone get out of their car to yell and scream. I'll even let them approach my door if they appear calm and level headed. If they get out and start approaching me while yelling and scream and reaching behind their back, I'm going to run them down. I'm not risking getting shot. Now, if they reach my car and start yelling and screaming and making threats, I'm probably going to stab them since I keep a rather large knife within easy reach. Personal safety first!

Instead of easing up a little you sped up and cut him off. That's a total dick move and one to be expected from an oblivious driver. Based on what footage you did show, you obviously park yourself in the Left lane and hold up everyone else. KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS. It's really simple. Running around acting like a moron, then pointing at people who get pissed at you, only makes you look worse.

I think they just edited the video this way. If that is actually all one person, he's the biggest douche bag on the road ever documented! There's at least 3 or 4 were he sped up to beep his stupid little horn at people trying to merge. Definitely a dick move!

Like that guy on the motorcycle riding in the passing lane, but thinks its ok because he's "keeping up with traffic". If you're in the passing lane you should be exceeding the speed of traffic, not keeping up with it!

He not only called her a slur, but almost CAUSED the accident. In a four way stop the person to your right goes first if you stop at the same time, she definitely overreacted but the incident was totally his doing

Yeah, I never engage in any kind of road rage, because that’s how you get killed. You have no clue what kind of person they are, and what kind of day they’re having, and what kind of weapons they have on themselves. That’s why I just get their plate, and drive away.
