The funny thing is that, of all of the shows, South Park actually got the sound of goth music right, it sounds like they're playing darkwave or post-punk. It really is an on-point parody.

I love the goth kids. It's awesome that Matt and Trey seem to know about the goth subculture, and about goth/industrial groups such as Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, and Skinny Puppy. If you look closely in Henrietta's bedroom, there're posters of them on the walls - but they changed the names slightly to avoid copyright stuff.

One of my favorite stories about Edgar Allen Poe, is how children would chase him in the streets, flapping their arms to imitate ravens, and he would turn around and yell, "Nevermore!", causing them to scatter. To spite Poe's tragic life and chronic depression, he wasn't such a dick that he was rude to strangers, or never had a sense of humor about himself. I think there's a lesson we could all learn in that.

While Twilight is the worst place to get introduced to Vampires or anything goth really... there are Romantic Vampire goth who combine the Romantic Goth style with the Vampire Goth style. Toreador is a race of vampires that fit Edwards description, though the Toreador are nowhere near as dumb as Edward. They quite the lookers and make up the beautiful and more romantic faces of the vampiric world, however they are smart, cunning manipulators, something Edward is ignorant of since Bella a normal girl does all the manipulating in the movies and books.

I’m not a fan of goths or their culture, but I really enjoy episodes with the goth kids. They’re just so realistic and funny at the exact same time which makes them enjoyable to watch

I wouldn't call them "dark" though. THey aren't part of the "dark" scene. But they "gave birth" to the goth scene. So they are close.

I considered myself goth-punk briefly in junior high. It was mainly just wearing black and eyeliner occasionally, as well as listening to a lot of Green Day. 😂🤣😂

That's pretty much the joke. 😂 I think there needs to be more jokes directed towards that. Like have one of the main characters point out an idea or belief the goth kids mention that contradicts their non-conformist mindset...and they become shocked or humorously point out in reluctance how good of a point that is. 😂🤣
