Tyrion in S1 was a rounded character truer to the books. He's sassy and cynical while still charming and likeable. However, the writers took Dinklage's popularity in the role and decided to sanitize his character into a goody two shoes as the show progressed, when he's headed down a different path in the books.
@viniciussardenberg7062 жыл бұрын
yet the new character they made was forced to walk the same threads of plot of a very different man, dnd being good writters as always lmao.

@jugurthasyphax63414 күн бұрын
It would have made zero sense for Tyrion to remain "sassy and cynical" (i.e carefree and irresponsible) after what all he went through. He was nearly killed in battle, framed for a crime by his own father, exiled. Of course it changed him into a more somber person. His character development surely could have been handled better, but having him stay the same as in Season 1 and cracking jokes after his own father and sister called for his head to be chopped off would have been even more idiotic.

One of my favorite moments of the hound is him standing in the background so casually while Tyrion slapped Joffrey. Like he understood his station so well that he knew this was a family matter that he couldn't deal with and yet was so satisfied to leave it to play out.

As insane as joffrey was had tywin and tyrion had a real hand in raising him, he likely would have been a really good king for that time, he had his own idea that was considered a fairy tale in a national army, not relying on other warlords to hold to their oaths but a state army that would have eventually after being trained diminished all the other lords power to do much past saber rattle and hold supplies and taxes back. Not a single lord had that mindset of what was showed, why serve in the house guard when you can serve in the national army and maybe gain rank someday, why work as man-at-arms for a lord that will pay you in copper if at all.
