What I can't understand is why on every car show when they do an off-road review that the tyres are road tyres? A Range Rover will handle just as bad as a corsa if it doesn't have the right tyres off road

Absolutely incorrect. Land Rovers are so amazing they are perfectly capable of amazing off-road performance with 20 inch wheels and road tires. I know, I've done it.

Toyota Landcruiser is a good comparison in this category & the L cruiser does better in dirt/mud as seen on another test vid for off-roading. I like this 600mm demo because that's a likely scenario in our region for a non-hunter. Britain's like their sleek designs. Hunters encounter dirt/mud so a Toyota Landcruiser probably best choice based on proven outdoor off-road tests.

Keep Wranglers are wildly popular in the United States and I highly recommend that you take one of those off road before you declare the Range Rover the best off road vehicle

land rover tested and build most of there cars for offroading like the intake is in the wing because as you course a bow wave. the water goes up the comes down on the wing giving you an area for the engine to breath without sucking up air

Yeah for off-roading, hardly anyone buys a Range Rover. People who buy them are usually wealthy people who get chauffeured around in them. Land Rovers are somewhat similar with the (newer) Discovery being a school run car (from what I've seen) so the only model thats really used for off-roading would be the Defender which is pretty good for what it is. I won't say its the best off-roader you can get nowadays but it can handle itself pretty well. I do agree with you that Range/Land Rovers aren't the best off-road cars but for what they are, being a luxury SUV they are some of the best with its only rival being the G-Wagon.

It's often regarded as the best because of its pedigree everywhere. However, there's no one-off-roader-fits-all so a Jeep is perfect for others. Also keep in mind the country that you're in, in the first place. That plays a huge part in decision making.

+Matthew Zuber Man it's all about opinion. Maybe for short term off roading the jeep might be better, but for long over land expeditions the Land Cruiser and Land Rover are top of the line. Those cars are like donkeys.

The English love their Landrovers, Land cruisers are so much better, especially the 70 series,(and this is coming from someone who owned two defenders).They are so much more reliable and capable off road, the newer ones even come with optional front and rear diff locks, and with the extra power and weight makes them serious machines,
