Good point about the option fitting the stock. I made the mistake of locking up covered calls in CLOV and WKHS.... because of super attractive premiums at the time I'm now stuck until 2023. At the time though I wanted the money to grab up some other shares. You definitely need to know which strategy applies to the stock that you're getting into.

Learning from you and it's working out very well! Going to score on my first short CC options trade this Friday no matter if the options go ITM or stay OTM (TTCF $20 strike). If ITM, then the wheel turns. Cost basis of underlying was $19/share. So, a win-win situation. BTW, excellent video!!

I agree with flat stocks as well, I recently added WBA and XOM. I do the weekly covered calls and with the premiums I buy more of the same stock. I am a little more aggressive on the strike so I can get more premium and buy back Monday if stock gets taken. By adding 1-3 shares per contract a week & the dividends coming quarterly, my goal is 100% investment in a year.

Hey brad, if the short call using leaps is called away at expiration. The leaps call gets exercised automatically buy the broker or not? Or the broker just buys 100 shares from your current cash. Should we notify the broker which way we would like to do. Exercising a call cost money ( strike price) and 20 usd commission. I am not sure how is this done

Brad! Thank you for the great videos... One question I had four leaps is if we do a covered call and get assigned, Do they automatically exercise the leaps option? And if so, if there is not enough money for buying the entire stock, will they exercise a leaps option and immediately sell the stock and put the remaining amount?. The reason I ask is I plan to do leaps and poor man's covered call in my Roth IRA for tax savings. Having limitation on amount of money you can add to Roth IRA each year. If I get assigned I won't be able to put more money. Or will the trading company liquidate my other funds to exercise the leaps option?... Trying to gauge my risk

If the price of the stock goes up above the strike price plus the premium, sometimes I do another covered call since the first option will probably get assigned.

its interesting to just get other peoples take on this because I do the sam think like for example I love Apple and own lots of shares and sell calls on and the high flyers stocks like UPST I own LEAPS not just I can afford more contracts because LEAPS are a fraction of the price of 100 shares up also I can sell more calls and earn more premium

I see a lot of videos about LEAPS and covered calls and other strategies , but I never see videos about portfolio growth starting with $500, $1000, or $1500. The only ones I have seen are “invest in yourself(ie buy my course and join my patreon) first” videos. Would be nice to see an honest here’s where I started and here’s where I am video. Huge fan of your channel!

Everyone is just adding $500 a month into their account... So in two years you've grown your account to $12,000 plus whatever you are running stocks in. Seriously that is what people do... There is no silver bullet to grow 500 to 1000 unless you hit some lucky option or yoloed on some momentum squeeze plays.

Thanks Brad, very clear on what you said. I got a 6 month expiry on a CALL in a Tech stock ITM. Should I worry now about it now? I am in the negative though even though I am ITM. Delta is 0.63. What would you do? Rollover to a future date OTM or ? Please tell me your opinion. Thank you

Those are good strategies collecting the premiums but to me that's not enough of a gain, what I've been doing instead is picked stocks that have big volatility within a month they either go down 10- 20 dollars or go back up 10 - 20 dollars, like BBY, EBAY, SQUARE so for example when they've come low I tend to make a call expiring at least 2 months away because I know eventually is gonna go up again and I just want to give it enough time for it and profits sometimes are 200- 500 dollars or more!👌

Depends on the options. I open and close or red or Green Day’s depending on the option. Check out my videos on a specific strategy to get that answer

Wheel promises 100% wins at the cost of potentially seriously limited gains. You always win with wheel. But that doesn't mean you are ahead. You'd always win, but it might only be $1 per week while thousands are tied up in stock worth far less. Conversely, you might need exercised at a price far lower than what you could have sold for had you not written the call. You still won. I don't think the wheel is a good strategy, even for sideways stock, because you could just open condors for those, and pivot out of a leg of the stock move too much. You might lose some money, but at least you won't be stuck with an albatross.

I have something of a LEAPS call for AMC, Jan 2023 @$15. I've been holding AMC for a long time and was looking for a way to leverage a little more without just throwing money away at weekly lottery tickets. I think this will turn out to be a great trade for me in the medium to long term. Break even at $52.50 in January 2023 🤣
