Roland HP603 digital piano have default concert piano that sounds a bit mellow (especially the bass keys). By changing the PianoDesigner settings, you can make your piano sound more like a real concert piano. Because the Roland LX-17, LX-7, HP605, and HP603 share the same sound generator (SuperNATURAL piano modeling), these PianoDesigner settings work all all of them. Changing these settings will make your Roland digital piano attain and probably exceed the sound quality of the Roland V-Piano (first released in 2009). One good way to save on costs is to get the entry level Roland HP603 instead of the Roland LX-17, and pair it up with a high quality headphone or studio monitor quality speakers. Video also shows the before and after of changing the PianoDesigner settings by playing scales for comparison purposes. Here are the settings used in PianoDesigner settings to make your bass less mellow:
Lid: 4
Key off Noise: 2
Duplex Scale: 4
Full Scale String Res.: 5
Damper Resonance: 3
Key off Resonance: 3
Cabinet Resonance: Off
Soundboard Type: 5
Damper Noise: 3
