In 1 word…WOW! (Okay 3 words and a number) 😊 But seriously Emilee, no wonder you are a multiple time world champion. ALL the tips you make, make so much sense. When you broke tips down to physics/geometry explaining how the shape of the coffee crema changes when tilted sent off fireworks in my brains! Totally makes sense. Great job. Thank you and best of luck in any competitions. 🙏

I would love to see a discussion on milk portioning. As someone who is a solo coffee drinker, I can’t figure a good way to make a cortado or smaller drink without wasting milk. Is there a good way to fill a pitcher with less milk and still have appropriate depth from a steam wand? I love the videos though! Super thoughtful and informative for the at home barista.

No need to waste milk.. just keep resteaming it. 🤷‍♀️ Drives me crazy to see any milk thrown out. Keep it in the fridge and keep adding fresh milk to your 2 leftover ounces from the previous day… milk steams perfectly fine when it’s cold. Even if it’s been steamed before. Give the cows a break!
@PanzerIV88
@PanzerIV88 Жыл бұрын
@@aliceboney2507 Nice trick! Never thought of it before as I never heard anyone talk about it too. So since it's nearly impossible to correctly steam less than 50-60ml of milk, just add more to help you and avoid steaming milk everywhere and then keep the left over in the pitcher and put the pitcher back to the fridge for the next day?!? 😮

It would be kinda cool if the company that made the pichter had like an emilee kit. Which would consist of the pichter she likes with a fill line for cold milk and maybe a line for when the milk is fully expanded and then a cup that matched her recommended spec

This legitimately changed my coffee experience. I have a Breville barista express and have been able to make okay milk but this stepped everything up like 3 notches. WOW, great info on the cup. I had been using a china "mug" shaped cup. So even though it is about the correct volume, the mug shape was probably a major cause of my difficulty. I just replaced it with a cup that looks like Emilee's cup, rounded on the inside. First try was a LOT easier to do 🙂 I still have a LOT of practice to do, but at least I am not fighting the cup now. Thank you. Edit: 2nd day and my milk pours are MUCH better in a round bottom cup, than it ever was with the mug with a squared bottom. As you said, the shape of the cup DOES matter. I've been pounding my head against that problem for years, and the solution was simply a different shape cup.

Coincidentially, I just got a slightly larger pitcher today with a narrower (but still round) spout and my latte art, on the very first try, got so much better. Now I'm very excited to keep trying and honing my skill.

After a year of learning latte art I finally found out the cup size role in laying the base of the art, and the spout shape. THEN I find your video and I have a deeper understanding of what you are saying. The advice I learned from you is the larger pitcher after steaming in smaller pitcher. I will try it I think that will be it. Just ordered 8oz latte cup after been having problems with a clean base in the 12 oz cups with 34g shot. (Too shallow) Edit: the 22oz round pitcher is OOS :(

really love your video, you are a lovely talented lady. So i just bought my first espresso machine 1 week ago.. and then i had to buy a pitcher and Rhino Coffee Gear seems a good choice as it is not very expensive and it say "Pro" wahahaha... so i was having issues deciding on 360ml/12oz or 600ml/20oz.. but decided on the larger one as i prefer a 20oz cup, but i end up buying an Ikea 9oz coffee round cup... i am glad i bought the larger pitcher as this is also your advice, although now i am steaming milk also in the larger pitcher.. Your explanation on the merits of using a larger pitcher sounds reasonable. Tks for sharing your knowledge! Have a great day!
