Fall camping is so much more cozy now that we have our Campy Gear 2 in 1 portable propane camping heater and camp stove. It's a really versatile little piece of camping equipment. It has quickly turned into our favorite portable camping heater. The fact that we can all sit around it and get heat from a 360 perspective is a huge selling point for my family of 5. We can all sit around it and warm our hands. Other propane camping heaters are front facing and make it hard for more people to be able to warm up at the same time.
The fact that we can use it as a camp stove is just the cherry on top. We can use the top to slow cook with less heat and the bottom to quickly boil water for dehydrated meals or coffee. It's a wonderful little system and has been easy to use and extremely reliable. The only downfall that I have found so far is the lack of a push button start up. Which isn't a big deal since I wont be taking it backpacking and only camping due to it's larger size. We will always have a lighter to easily light it when camping.
This can also be used for survival situations when you lose power during cold times. Just make sure that you are monitoring your CO2 to make sure everyone is safe. Anytime using something inside that has an open flame, there is risk. Make sure to consider getting a CO2 alarm before using this in a tent or a closed room.
Don't settle for living a little when you can get out there and live a lot!

I bought the smaller version of this and regretted it. Basically it does not excel at any particular task so it sat in my cupboard doing nothing. A few years later Im camping in cold areas more, plus facing down regular power outages. Suddenly an all-rounder like this seems amazing. Sure, its a bit bulky for camping, and not super efficient as a heater, but if you need to have one item that you can cook on AND keep you warm, well this is it. Im probably going to take it on my next winter camp because I need something for cooking, boiling lots of water (so it has to be stable) and for possibly ten minutes a night of heat in the tent. I really changed my mind about this thing after I realised that I could sit in a freezing tent, turn on the heater AND then open the vents and boil my morning Joe whilst Im waking up. Thanks for the video, and dont forget ventilation in the tent guys and girls!

The most thorough and helpful channels I go to are the hidden gems like this one. Your review is much better than the directions bc I just put the cage on top and thought the wiggle jiggle was just how it was made lol. Then you gave a demonstration? 👏🏾👏🏾 thanks for this, Shalom!

I have one and love it, the double function is nice too. If I want to boil water faster I just pull my BSR stove but I’m never in a hurry when I camp.

Hello Carmen, I completely agree. There are much better options when looking for efficiency. But you nailed it. Most of the time when I'm camping, 2 minutes vs 5 minutes really doesn't matter. Its nice having the one piece of equipment that does both. Obviously, there are much better options out there if you need them to be better or more efficient at the one thing. Love the heater function though, keeps all our hands toasty when sitting at the table together!

Thanks for the instructions. I just picked one up with the hose and I'm hoping it can keep me alive as I spend winter in my Astrovan in Connecticut. No job and I'm being evicted tomorrow. Edit: Fast forward to November 2022...temps in the 20s at night now so I broke my Campygear stove out but for some reason I'm getting a big flame coming out. I'm using propane with the hose adapter. Usually I put a cast iron skillet on top which gets really hot but this flame has me concerned.

Mark, sorry to hear about that. I hope this can help keep you warm. If you can spare it, remember to get a CO meter too. Can't be too careful, especially in a vehicle. Good luck!

mark: i’m retired and i live in a van, too. you might consider heading out to the southwest AZ, CA, NV, UT where there are free places to camp and it certainly warmer in the winter. yuma and quartzsite are great. you might even find a job, too. good luck!

@@OIII-IOOO thanks joe...gonna get down to mid 20s here in northwest Connecticut and I may have to use the campygear stove for the first time this season...my van needs a little work as well as my health but I'm seriously considering your suggestion...last winter was brutal.

You never did say how long do the can of fuel will last ?
@WeLiveALot
@WeLiveALot 2 жыл бұрын
It went strong for 2 hours. The third hour was probably 70% then hour 4 was probably 25%. It didn't just stay strong until it burned out, the strength dropped as the fuel ran low.

Bought one from Amazon. Was missing paperwork. Sought company info/website to register. Phone number was "parked" and non-operational. Attempts to visit the Campy store kept looping back to Amazon CS. Who, we're if zero help. Just returned it.

So u can use it inside a tent ???
@WeLiveALot
@WeLiveALot Жыл бұрын
You can, but if you did, I'd suggest having a portable Carbon Monoxide detector. Also, I'd recommend not using it if you have kids or dogs in the tent. It's an open flame which can be dangerous in a tent. Make sure to have a well ventilated tent, and you should be okay!

Can this be used in a greenhouse?
@WeLiveALot
@WeLiveALot 2 жыл бұрын
I think you could use in a greenhouse but it wouldn't be my first choice. The constant replacing of fuel cannisters would be a bit annoying. I'd rather go with something electric that could stay on a low continuous heat.
