That Nitecore is so tidy I love it! I usually backpack with 2 of the Ankers, this would make a big difference for me! If I may return the favor, SSD's do away with the magnetic disks and thus are not susceptible to magnetic fields. For proof look at Apples magsafe tech or the many other magnetic phone charging systems built right in with there SSD memory 👍

Hi James! I just tried using it with the mini USB. It powers on, but it seems to attempt a connection with the power bank, so it doesn't work. Back in the day, using power banks wasn't common so that's probably why.

I am currently in Mexico and I was recording the sounds before sunrise. I managed to forget to pack my rechargeable AA batteries but I have several battery packs that I can power my Zoom H8. When i started the record everything sounded great but at some point I started to get an interference squeal in the recording. Unplug and it stopped. I do have a set of AA batteries in the H8. I will have to take them out and try again. Perhaps that was the issue or the cable or the battery pack. I just might be spending a lot on disposable batteries and I HATE using them!!! Thanks for the video, interested in hearing your thoughts on the X6.

It's a fantastic power bank. Have used the Gen 1 for two years mountain climbing and expedition style hiking. The low profile and weight really makes it a no-brainer whether to take it along or not. Never failed me once. Hope yours lives up to your expectations :)

Nice to see such a super light power bank. I have one and it's quite heavy. I'll definitely look at the Nightcore sometime. I bought rechargeable NiMH batteries for my recorders recently, and I had lots of problems with them not keeping the charge for very long. Thanks for the heads-up, and it will be interesting to see the run-time you get out of it. I guess it should be many hours.

@@FreeToUseSounds Thanks Marcel. It'll be fine for my F3. It's the only recorder I've been using for weeks with my Usi Pro's, and I also bought some Earsight Nano mics from Immersive Soundscapes which are pretty good and very small. Great for the sling bag I've been using. I love having such a tiny setup that I can take out and use very quickly.

Nice!! I think magnets are fine around SSD's because there's no moving parts. I just bought the Ulanzi Zero Y tripod!!
@FreeToUseSounds
@FreeToUseSounds Жыл бұрын
Hello Christian! We're considering selling our heavy Peak Design tripod and purchasing the Ulanzi carbon tripod instead. They've even created a carbon light stand, but it is currently not available in Thailand. Keep in mind that even though SSDs have no moving parts, a strong magnetic field can still cause a disturbance in the electrons and alter stored data, potentially resulting in corruption or data loss. It's best to be cautious.

I certainly hope that Tascam will restore its good reputation with the X6. With the built-in microphones, 192kHz hardly makes any sense anyway. I'm curious to see how your reduced equipment will affect the way you work. Have fun in Bangkok. Viele Grüße - Til 👍

Does this powerbank fit snugly into the Zoom F6 K-Tek carrying bag? I'm wondering if could fit in the bag to keep the F6 charged? Also Marcel, is there a risk of the cable coming out - isn't a fixed battery in the Zoom safer? Thku!

i would be interested in the ACTUAL capacity of those batteries. Maybe you could both charge them to full (Use the same charger, to make things comparable; the slower the better) Then let them both run a device and compare the times. This should give you a real world comparison between the two power banks. I really like that cable/adapter, i might have get one aswell. The magnet should not be strong enough to influence a hard drive, especially an ssd. old hard drives are based on little magnets that flip directions to store information in ones and zeros and are thus susceptible to get scrambled in a high external magnetic field. SSD storage is less likely to be influenced by magnetic fields because it does not rely on internal magnets.

I guarantee that Anker has more capacity. Batteries are known to have their stated capacities over inflated. The heavier the battery, the more juice it has.
