@keav I appreciate all of your testing and insight behind the pressure washers. I have installed the BigBoi WashR pro shelf with integrated reel. I also installed water drop DI with integrated bypass to eliminate the need of multiple inline valves by custom fabricating a 3/4 inch copper pipe manifold with inline TDS monitor. I will go with the BigBoi WashR Pro or AR630TSS as the final unit. I’m waiting for the next round offering of the BigBoi WashR Pro to finish the install. I do like having the one copper pipe manifold setup as it is a clean and tidy install.

@@CarsWithKeav Do we have any idea when the second round may be coming? The company appears to have gone radio silence. Moreover, it appears that BigBoi USA has simply stripped any reference to the product from their website. On a related note, I've seen some negative stuff out there regarding BigBoi USA customer service. Specifically, lack of responsiveness. Looking at their social media pages gives these statements some credence. There are quite a few questions posted by customers on their Facebook. No response.

@@ILruffian Their launch in the U.S. was not well planned and they had no idea how much us Americans reach out to customer service. They did not have the people to answer plus they are in Australia so the time difference can delay responses. The owner was responding to the emails the first few weeks. I think they went silent because they have no update to give which isn’t how you handle customers in the U.S.

Another great video, Keav. I've been in the market, so I've seen all your recents. You're killing it. I returned the active 2.3 for sound reasons, as I'm quite sensitive to the sound situation in my garage. I went with the bigboi pro, and after some testing I've concluded the bigboi pro with a 4.5 is the winner in my view. It's fully competitive on psi and GPM (honestly, they are all very close on the numbers) and wins on sound and sight glass/serviceability.

You can’t go wrong with that machine and glad you have had no issues. Have you tried to adjust the lock on the regulator to get more performance?
@don.newlon
@don.newlon 2 ай бұрын
@@CarsWithKeav I have not adjusted it, but I have the same power measuring meter as you, and I can definitely see there is headroom to go upward and still stay below 15amp. They seem to have set it conservatively at the factory, so there is more to get out of the machine. As it stands however, I've been extremely happy with its performance during my usage, and the low sound is kind of a revelation - I can't really hear it most of the time over the nozzle noise. I bought it at $629 during the last sale they had, a reduction that more than paid for the shipping.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 2 ай бұрын
@@don.newlon Nice you got a good deal and glad to hear it’s working good. We need some confirmations that there are units doing well. I noticed if you adjust there is a pint where you get no more performance. So what I did was use the stock nozzle to adjust just under 15 amp. Then when I use the 4.0 I’m much under the 15 amps, but right at it’s peak performance as well.
@don.newlon
@don.newlon 2 ай бұрын
@@CarsWithKeav That's a great approach. I like the water volume at a 4.5 nozzle, so I think I can use your process with a 4.0 nozzle I have, setting it up to nearly 15 amp, then operate a bit below that by using the 4.5 nozzle. To be honest, I've been fine with the performance default out of the box on a 4.5 nozzle - pressure, water volume, snow foam with Griots Boss foam cannon are great. Adjusting the unloader valve will probably add pressure more than volume, and not strictly necessary, but it does allow for maximizing the platform's performance.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 2 ай бұрын
@@don.newlon When I did my testing it’s raised both pressure and flow. 4.0 I don’t think you will get close to 15 amps it will just stop around 13.8 to 14 and you can’t go any higher and performance doesn’t change once you hit that limit. Maxing it out will improve you flow as well I was able to get 5% increase in flow and close to 10% in pressure. Will make that 4.5 feel even better.

In Australia the big boi washr pro does 2.5GPM @ 9amps with a 4.5 nozzle but our power outlets are 240v. It has definitely been tuned down for the American market with 120v power outlets. Its a shame as we cannot get the Active 2.3 here and only just started seeing the Active 2.0 here at 1 retailer. This information is listed on the USA Bigboi site regarding the motor humming. Behaviour like the unit Humming or amp spiking would be a result of low volts being delivered to the unit. Please confirm socket wiring or try a different socket closer to the main power box to resolve the starting issue.

I like that you pointed out the harsh start that some of these have. Several years ago I was at the car wash and while pulling the trigger to start washing, the pressure slammed through the wand and I scratched the hood on my car. I was so mad. It’s one of those things you never forget. I see reviews where people hate the slow ramp in but it prevents accidents and extends the life of the motors so much. Also, I always think of total stop systems and harsh ramp ins as particularly bad in terms of wear though. That is probably less of an issue with these units over the cheaper ones.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 2 ай бұрын
I have always had the same thought the start/stop is real nice, but usually motors wear down sooner being stopped and started rather than just running constant. Even like the Greenworks pro I got great numbers at 2gpm just has no start/stop and a longer ramp in. Sun is with a foam cannon is why I don’t like it. The more expensive units for industrial don’t have it they run constant. For me in videos the constant run hurts the audio which is why I don’t use them.
@corypierce202
@corypierce202 2 ай бұрын
@@CarsWithKeav Very understandable. I bet a lot of that has to do with avoiding too much draw on units that are so close to 15 amps in addition to motor life and reliability. I am so impressed with the Greenworks Pro 3000 for $399. It’s impressive to be able to get that kind of pressure for around the house task, and still be able to have a full 2 gpm for cleaning cars, all while on a 15 amp circuit. That one unit can cover a lot of ground with a simple jet change. It will last a long time with the triplex pump and the big, efficient, brushless motor that has a 10 year warranty from the manufacturer. But yeah slow ramp in. Everything is a trade off. I am very tempted to buy the GW 3000 Pro. With a 100’ hose and reel you could clean anywhere around house, sidewalks, cars, etc, and not have to deal with gasoline. It’s a real gem at a great price. It falls into a category where it’s not the very best of anything but is still a master of everything. Also while these other units are so awesome in their own right they extend out above what the majority can afford. We love the reviews and the dream though.

I have been loving mine so far. Did some around the house things and I must say I am happy with the purchase. The noise level still has me concerned with when I can fire it up during the day so I am now going to try to come up with a shop type cart system and enclose the unit with some sound deadening material. The input pressure of your water and the flow itself can cause less performance, but would not be do due the hose at these sizes unless your on like 200 feet of hose which could have some pressure drop. The pressure washer hose length could have an issue of over 100 feet as well. Some just don’t get a higher PSI than others. Even my numbers are usually 50 to 100 PSI less than other reviewers. I think Electric circuit strength is the main reason. Some just have a cleaner circuit maybe a little more juice. It’s hard to trust nozzle sizes too especially foam cannon orifice very few are accurate. That Mckillans is a bit low as well for a 4.0

I got the Washr Pro and found another publication from Big Boi on line. Instead of turning the qyarter turn it shows turning the one nut all the way down and then coming back 2 full turns for max power. Since you have a 20 amp circuit im wondering what it would look like at 16 amos or 17 amps with that pump adjusted more.

I was going to try, but Big Boi told me do not go over 14.5 as the power unit is sensitive to amps. It has overload protection, but with so many issues reported and most to do with the hum I experienced seems to be power unit related. They will be bringing a 17amp version to the U.S. later this year.

Been enjoying my active 2.0 for a few months, recently it started to leak in the inlet of the pressure washer. Removed the quick connect and directly attach the garden hose and it didn't work. Replaced the rubber washer but still the same issue. Everyone says you only need to hand tight the quick connects, so I'm not sure if I should use a plier wrench to tight it down further to get a better seal. If anyone has any tips or tricks, please let me know. Great video as always, thanks Keav!

I have checked no leaks ,I am using a steel braided pressure washer hose and have swapped guns just to eliminate those variables. I contacted BigBoi on Friday last week and waiting to hear from them. Also the website specifications says it comes with a 35feet hose mine came with a 15 ft. Not an issue for me but the either the information is incorrect or our units were sent with the wrong cable

@CarsWithKeav

Comet seems to do well over time not many complaints on it. The unit turning on usually indicates a leak somewhere and the unit has to turn back on to meet the pressure needed by the pressure switch to stay off. Sometimes could be a dribble from the end of the gun or a connection. Now if it turns on and stay on until the trigger is pressed not sure on that. Usually a leak would have the unit just run for a second and then shut off. Pressure switch could be going out as well. Wish I could help more.

My Comet has been rock solid since 2019 with weekly use. I did eventually upgrade the hose reel, but its a great all-in-one wall mount package for people on a budget (which I was at the time). For me, its #2 behind the AR-630 and far above the Big Boi (which aren't even a consideration for me). The Active 2.3 is far too loud, and I just think they are pushing that pump way too hard...I think we're going to see a lot of these units failing in the future. The extra 0.4 gpm over the Comet just isn't enough of a difference to be all that noticeable. If my Comet ever dies, I'm doing to do dual Kranzles. That will be a noticeable upgrade.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 2 ай бұрын
You make valid points for sure I think it all depends on what you like. Sound doesn’t bother me so it’s not a big item in my list. Only way to know if these will work is to try it out. If we keep doing things the same way and buying products that are old we will never innovate. .4gpm is big in my list which is how I came up with my rankings. With all these issues with the Pro I might have to change my rankings again. I’m going to review the 1322ts and see how it goes. If I ever spent dual Kranzle money I probably would put in a 230v and run a monster industrial unit. There have been no issues that I know of so far with the 2.0 pump heads it has been mainly pressure switch issues and with using an Uberflex. I think the pump head will do well now that it is brass, but we will see. I don’t mind being a Guinea pig or proven wrong. 🤣

When can we expect to see the Kranzle review? I'm still within my return window for the Active 2.3. I really like it but have gotten noise comments from the fam, and I'm also only getting 800 psi and 2.1 gpm on a new home 20 amp circuit, and absolutely terrible foam with the 1.45 orifice on the MTM Pro which was previously giving me excellent shaving cream foam with the 1.1 on my cheapo Ryobi. Even so, it's a joy to use and big step up from Ryobi. But, part of me is thinking of just going balls-out on the Kranzle, but I'm waiting to see what you think. I'm really interested to see what your take on the Kranzle is, especially since it seems to run about 1.9-2.0 gpm. I don't think I've seen any other videos of anyone actually testing it besides OG years ago, so that's exciting. Really curious if there's just something intangible or overtly pleasing about using it that everyone seems to rave about, even though it performs slightly worse than all of these. Nice work!

What nozzle size are you using to get the 800 psi? 2.3 should get amazing foam as well. OG says it’s shipped should be here tomorrow so might be out Monday or Thursday of next week. For me on the 2.3 that would normally be a 5.0 or even a 5.5 nozzle that gets around 800 psi.

@@CarsWithKeav that’s with the included 4.6 tips. No change with different fan patterns, as to be expected, but rules out a one-off oversized nozzle. Getting 6 gpm at 60 psi out of the garden hose. I’m trying not to get too wrapped up in the numbers as it doesn’t really change much, but the lack of foam is pretty annoying which led me to check everything. Now if I ran a detailing business then I for sure would value different categories more. I can feel the difference between an Active/AR vs the Big Boi. Makes no sense they didn’t think it was going to be a problem. Hope they improve it. It was the only real negative they could have had a home run product. No accessories and drop the price to $575 and it would have been even more sales.

@@CarsWithKeav Yeah, to me, it's cool that they hit these impressive output numbers. That is great, and I'm impressed and glad they could hit those performance targets. However, if it meant that to hit those numbers, the pump would have to operate at such a rate that it would be that loud, then it hurts the payoff of the flow performance and I don't really understand how they continued through deployment. The only thing I can think of to remedy this now that it's just a fully released product is that the end user has to try to put it in a cabinet or something to dampen the sound. I hope Active makes a revision or something but that seems kinda unlikely unless the sales are bad or it bothers enough people.

@@1BlinkwithAngels82 I think it’s the motor making the noise it’s just how that motor hums. The smaller pump could be why or just the motor they chose. It would be nice to understand what their plan is to address this issue considering more than person has advised of their pressure washer failure to start/humming. Maybe @bigboicarcare can tell us what they are doing to address the issue. Paying customers want to know. Of course, they would need to admit there is an issue that they need to address. Crazy that these are considered mid tier, I would consider anything using commercial hardware and over $500 to be end game. I would consider all the non active cheap pressure washers low tier, and the 2.0 to be the only thing that's mid tier or if there was some sort of commercial solution in the $300-400s range (which there isn't)

@@caseG80 Good question. I do know that many of these in order to work on a generator you need a certain percentage of watts over what they say. For example most of these usually won't work on a 3500 generator you would need like a 4500 or a 4800 to have what is needed to run them. The AR630 though I know quite a few running them with 3500 generators with no issue, but the Big Boi and Active don't work on it. These were not designed for a mobile unit it has been adopted by the industry to be used that way not AR's fault its being used in a way it was not designed for.

I think they designed this 4 pole motor and power unit around a perfect 120v and didn’t test in a typical U.S. garage to know it’s normal voltage. I mean no other electrical equipment ever did this to me on the same plug. They are saying is most likely voltage drop under 102v during start up so the motor works harder to get going which is where the hum comes from. Basically saying it’s user error or setup.
