I've been using this 3m 6502QL respirator mask for about one year on my welding job, I am really happy with it, I wish I started using it at the beginning of my welding career. The filters which I buy for this mask are 3m 2138, they are awesome, they are specially designed for welding application, plus they block odours, cost really cheap, and fit under any hood. But after one year of using it I bought myself 3m speed glass 9002x welding mask with Adflo respirator system, this is much more expensive but even more convenient, I would say it is next level, especially when it is hot weather

I’m at a job they don’t enforce wearing respirator welding masks and even given the idea but after a few days I’ve decided to buy one of my own as I’m looking out for my own safety and I can tell there’s definitely some gas fumes everytime I’d jump back between cells 1 and 2 to load and unloading and assembly parts. I don’t personal weld but we have daihen welding robots that do so I’ve already taking the liberty of buying one.

welding fumes are really over looked these days. I just got outta school and been mig welding about a year almost 2 and I wish I’d started wearing a respirator at the beginning. The crazy thing is I honestly had no clue how bad of stuff could be in this metal. Even just carbon steel has some pretty nasty stuff. Good to see somebody gettin it out there. Honestly I’d rather be bitched at to wear a respirator rather than steel toes and saftey glasses 😂

thanks for the honest review you made, now i can decide wich respirator i should buy. but i have a little bit of confusion in choosing the right filter for the respirator. which one you prefer for FCAW/SMAW welding between 2097, 2091 or 2297?
@JTwelder.7 ай бұрын
For welding use a 2097 or 2297 (they’re both rated the same for filtering but 2297 is easier to breathe through) they both have charcoal in the making them more suitable for welding than a 2091. I personally use the 2297 because I want to breathe as easily as possible when wearing a respirator.

Hello partner Jacob. I have an important question regarding two models, of which I do not know which is better. In terms of comfort, as you mention, which model is better for welding, the 6500QL respirator or the 7500? Thank you, and I hope you can answer my question because I don't know which of the two models to buy.
@andreaslindholm37119 ай бұрын
I believe they are quite similar, similar size, downward exhaust (good for not fogging up welding helmets/visors the quick latch system that the 6500GL has is in my opinion really handy so that is the one I would pick (Only used the 6500QL)
