Timmy, For those of us who want to have only 1 iem of each technology, I could recommend a video (a suggestion), for example, the best iem dynamic driver for 100, 200, 300, etc. so far no one has done it and so with planar, balance armature, hybrid. It would be great of course a video of each technology so that the video is agile.

I heard the original Softears Turii, it was simply the best single DD iem to my ears, even more natural and refined than the multi-driver RSV. The dynamics, the soundstage depth and naturalness were top notch. Look forward to listening the Twilight.

Saving up for the Moondrop Variations or Sennheiser IE 600's, that's about as high a price point I'm going to go at this point.

Yeah, that's the most anyone should ever spend. Anything hightlyer than $500-600 you face a lot of diminishing returns.

@@Adler_GGG aria is not a stand out IEM unless you are looking exclusively sub $100. Your ears may be used to it, but the variations is notably better in basically every way for most listeners who don’t have significant hearing loss affecting their perception of treble. The aria isn’t even on a comparable level (not even the blessing 2 IMO). Variations might not be YOUR taste. You might like a slightly shouty upper mid tuning with a lightly bloated mid bass and not a lot of treble extension (like the aria)… that’s okay, your taste is your taste. But it’s a bit misleading for people making purchase choices to even compare the aria and the variations without reference to your own preference as a biasing factor - just not on the same level of IEM in tuning (for general listeners preference), detail, soundstage, etc. Nothing against the aria, I’ve given friends and family like 5 pairs of Aria’s. I like them, but just not even a comparable set to the variations. Happy listening Dan! Enjoy your Arias.

@@fofopho Besides the variations being badly tuned, makes no difference with what it sounds ok with, fact is the bass is trash level distorted on many songs and lacks any punch and vocals are not natural and also has BA tin sound. Literally only thing they do good is treble. I far prefer oxygen

@@Adler_GGGnot sure about other stuff, but if the bass is distorting, you either have a defect unit or there’s something wrong with your source, such as too much EQ, too high preamp or something.

@@speedy2davey not really. It's all performance at the end of the day. If one DD can perform on par with tribrids or quadbrids that are $1,000+, I don't see a reason why they shouldn't charge the price they are charging. Expensive, yes, but not unreasonable if again, it's competitive where it's priced.

@@Gizaudio while the driver itself is expensive I don't see how the tuning should also be expensive. Crinacle and HBB have been talking about that for a long time and even some low budget sets have shown that you don't need to pay out the nose for good tuning.

@@speedy2davey and I agree with them. You don't need to and you shouldn't pay out the nose for good tuning. That being said, it's not the same as asking me if the IEM is appropriately priced competitive to the current market.

Yeah, softears are not cheap usually. The only one that's somewhat affordable is the Volume. Though they are all super quality.

Love it - definitely now my favourite single DD, and I have quite a few. Such an addictive tonality - excellent balance, beautiful captivating mids with wonderful clarity top to bottom... beats IE600, IE900, ZEN PRO, TZ700, and Advar for sheer listening pleasure... such an effortless, natural sound profile.

The tuning too different to say which is better, it depends on what you listen to and your sound signature preference. If you want relax, the Twilight is better than both. If you want something more forward and fun than the other two will be better.

Gizaudio u gotta help me! I want an IEM that is less forward in treble than OH10 but same level of detail and resolution.. More bass wouldn't hurt, OH10 is not the perfect trance/techno IEM, the bass is too boring.. I want that amazing slam and thump in drops in trance and kicks in dnb

There is software for music tracks. It means you can see how much dB each frequency has. So when you talk about female voices m let's give an example that the 5k in the software is set at 65db but then I buy a olina and the same frequency is set at 75 dB. That means I am increasing the voice of female decay by 10bd what is not natural . Its fine when we listen to music at lower volume because the high frequency don't work based on air so they get lost. And dd is based on air so never gets lost. So for me when I listen at 85db. Then 90% of iem are not for me. The ie600 is a good set. But that 8k push makes the decays of instruments go up instead of going naturally down. Maybe the best tuning for k pop or female is to set a track check how much dB by frequency and then adjust the eq or filters to give the same . Then I will call it natural decay and tone.

I’m sorry, but as a music tech student, I have to say that your way of “tuning” based on each song is not a good idea. Instruments and voice are not supposed to sound “flat”. The different levels in different frequencies are what give an instrument its unique timbre. “Balancing out” everything will make everything sound very unnatural, not to mention that from what I know, the software you are describing is probably showing the peak levels of the frequencies. This means that if you apply the EQ correction, you are only achieving “neutrality” when all the frequencies reach the peak levels at the same time, which is almost never going to happen. Therefore, for most of the song you’ll be left with an extremely weird tonal balance. To do what you are trying to do, you need to apply a systemwide multi-band compressor that compresses every frequency individually, which is extremely impractical, and as I said before, not of any real benefit. However, if a song is really poorly mastered/mixed, nothing is stopping you from remastering the song yourself. It can be pretty fun if you have the software to do it.

@@paulosilva8200 from what I understand, you are saying that to achieve natural sound, one should perform spectrum analysis on the music track and EQ the audio based on the spectrum so that every frequency has the same sound pressure level. To put it in simple words why this won’t work: in an audio track, sound pressure levels at different frequencies are mostly likely to change constantly, so you can’t just apply a simple EQ to neutralise all frequencies. Also, even if you are able to neutralise all frequencies, you are not achieving a natural sound, as you are messing with the harmonics of the sounds in the audio, making them extremely unnatural sounding, as the harmonics are what give a sound it’s characteristics

Dude. Warn is natural tonality. Since the 50ts the vacuum tube amps was always the most expensive amps because they gave the warm of tone that was real in studios . Not we have trasnsitors that are cheaper and people start to forget the warm tube tone
