It's worth noting that fast lenses are also great in architecture photography because you can simply use focus stacking for critical scene depth. Then for spaces with intentional lowlight (entertainment spaces especially), it's easy to get great shots at 100 ISO without figuring out a long exposure on site.

I don’t use focus stacking too much, but Luminar has a pretty sweet extension for that. Good tips! Thanks for watching

@@PaulFeinberg I sent this video to a buddy who is trying to figure out what lens to get. I agree this little F4 is the way to go. Punches way out of it's weight class. I'd be on one if I didn't do cityscape stuff and already love my little 16-35/4 ZA to death.

It’s a fun lens. I think you will enjoy it. I see people switching between 14mm GM and 16-35mm GM and I would rather have this one not have to switch lenses and it’s wider. So it’s been great!

Great Video, Paul! I've noticed maturing in video (for me) is realizing that not everything--especially real estate-- should be shot with a wide open aperture. Shooting f8+ for real estate is great advice.

Thanks! Ya for real estate video a great lens is the new 16-35mm f4. Looks awesome, portable, works great on a gimbal and you want everything to be in focus so the f4 is fine. I am Learning as well that everything doesn’t need to be low low Aputure….I mean I love that background blur but there are times when you don’t need a ton of it.

Hey thanks for this! I'm pretty much sold. I already have the 16-35 2.8 tho. It tends to distort. Is there less distortion with a prime 12mm lens? It's a 1/3 of the price and I'm just getting started, but I'm thinking this one might be worth the investment. Would I be better off just getting the 12-24? It sounds like that's all I would need. I also have a 24-70 and 70-200. Thank you! Great vid.

I have the 16-35 GM for my KZfaq channel and I still only use the 12-24mm f4 for all real estate photography. Hands down the best I have tried with no swapping lenses. If it died today I would be buying another one. Well worth the investment for my real estate photography. I only use this lens for real estate pretty much. Hope this helps! Best of luck!

I currently am doing RE photography and using a 16-35mm GM II with an A7IV. I purchased this 12-24 which helps A LOT in tight spaces. Deciding if it’s worth keeping the 16-35 or picking up a 14mm GM for video, and using the 12-24 f4 for all my RE photography. Any advice would be appreciated!

Personally for video I find that 16-35mm works and I like having that option for tight shots at 35mm. Plus the 16-35mm is my daily driver for on the go KZfaq content.

Why not 16-35 PZ?
@PaulFeinberg
@PaulFeinberg 11 ай бұрын
PZ is great for video. I personally like something wider for smaller bathrooms and such. You can get away with a 16-35mm but prefer at least 14mm for small spaces and 12mm for small bathrooms comes in handy.

Spare no expense the 14mm f1.8 GM….Sony 16-35mm GM (I would hold off till the version 2 gets announced and you would need a gimbal strong enough) budget options Sigma 16-28mm f2.8. I personally use the Tamron 17-28mm right now (I would buy the sigma now that it is out) and I am looking to get the 16-35mm GM version 2 when it releases. For video the F-Stop does matter. The 14mm works great inside but you can’t put filters on it for outside.

My lighting was clearly not set right in this video….sucked at setting the exposure on this one. I shot with Sony a7siii and 24mm GM first half then swapped to the 12-24mm F4. Probably would care more about the demonstration photos in the video…..but ya not sure why I would have been ok with the exposure in this video. Oh well

That 12mm is so clutch for really tight bathrooms and small spaces. Also when there is a huge tree in the center of the front of the house and you have the get closer to get the whole house.

It's absolutely insane to me y'all shoot real estate below 16-18mm that looks absolutely ridiculous. Anything below 20mm is distorting reality. I basically never go below 22mm unless it's a bathroom or miniscule room.
@PaulFeinberg
@PaulFeinberg Ай бұрын
@@RubenDelight I try not to shoot below 18mm if I can but those agents love the wide perspective. They don’t see the distortion like us photographers do. Normal people don’t care
@RubenDelight
@RubenDelight Ай бұрын
@@PaulFeinberg I find it pretty interesting that it’s so prevalent in the US and Canada. Here in NL most of the real estate shots are at minimum 20. The home owners I visit very frequently talk about how they hate the ultra wide shots that distort the space though! A lot of the real estate agencies also tend to care a bit more here I feel like but it could be just anecdotal bias.
