I own the Samsung Q80R Soundbar and use it with a 75" Sumsung Q900 Series 8K TV in the living room and it sounds fantastic. I'm so happy with it that I just picked up a second Samsung Q80R Soundbar for my 55" Samsung Q900 Series 8k TV in the Master Bedroom.

Thanks to you guys I got the best LED TV I could buy in my area for HDR/Movies/Games. (Not into Oled yet) I been trying to get a SoundBar now and this helped me a lot. Thanks. Good reviews like always.

I've had that Yamaha soundbar for over a year now. I paid about $300 for it too. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT if you do a lot of low volume listening. Theres some kind of glitch in it where the woofer will cut out and the "voice channel" gets way too quiet when it's at low volume. But when you're watching at kinda high volume (like for movie night or fight/game day) it sounds pretty damn good. I'd advise to check some of the reviews on this soundbar cause this is kinda a widespread issue. Also, the app you can download for it isnt that great, really aren't any ways to adjust levels. If you're always listening with high volume its great, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere. Just my experience. Thx for reading!

Is there an advantage to match the sound bar manufacturer to the TV’s manufacturer? Ie A Sony sound bar with a Sony TV... I’d like to see the sound bar grouped by price range. Best high end, best mid prices and/or best bargain. I’d love the a Samsung but the price is close than the price of a 55 inch TV. Also sound bars recommended by TV screen size? Is there a better choice for a 55” vs a 75”. Possibly a buying guide type recommendation?

I have the Samsung HW-Q80R Soundbar. It's a great soundbar, and there are no problems with the rear speakers as with the Samsung HW-Q90R Soundbar.

SONY HT-ST5000 where is that ? That's top of the range and yet not included. Please review that as well :), keep up the great videos !!

Hey man, I watched this video 2 weeks ago and I came back to give thanks for the detailed review and comparisons. I was torn between samsung q80r and vizio sb3651 F6. And I thank the youtube gods for recommending your video, instead of buying a used $350 q80r, I bought the Vizio because you mentioned that they both performs the same except vizio has the rear speakers. And man the vizio Sb36512-F6 was worth every cent. The bass, the rear speakers, and the soundbar was overwhelming!! My house is shaking whenever I watch movies now. LOL oh before I forget I bought the vizio for only $60. Best $60 spent!

Bought last year the Bose Solo 5, but brought it back since not even as good as my old Yamaha YAS-101. Instead, the Vizio 3621 is both cheaper and sound hundreds times better (though it is far larger).

I decided to take the leap into a soundbar yesterday and after some research I picked the Polk Signa S2 for my Samsung Q6F. Hooked it up lasted night. Best damn $180 I’ve spent in a while! I probably had the volume at 20% and I could feel the bass slightly at that volume which was impressive to me. But most impressive was the level of depth that thing added to my show along with the directional audio. I can’t fucking wait to game with it now! Battlefield is gonna sound SO cool! It’s my first soundbar and I’m definitely impressed. Also, kind of sad knowing that’s what I’ve been missing for years in my entertainment space... if you’re not looking to spend a boatload on a soundbar, I highly recommend the Polk Signa S2!

These Rtings guys have all been to the same commercial acting school - the constant slight movement of the head and the equally constant but more emphatic movement of the hands. My friend went to the AADA and, yes, this is a class they take. I've seen some where Ryan here is very stiff and others where he's becoming a little more comfortable with it.

also i've had the vizio atmos 5.1.2. it's $299 now. i had an issue getting the android app to connect it to wifi. got the app on my ipad and super easy to connect to wifi. i had issues with soundbar but it got several firmware updates (was this launched in 2018?) and it works perfect for me. INCREDIBLE SOUND

You made it sound as if the Sonos Beam did not give enough bass response which I find totally incorrect, for a bedroom or medium to small sized room it’s more than adequate in its bass response. A separate subwoofer is not necessary in this case, yes in the living room you would not be using the Beam you would be getting the Play Bar or the Play Base which is what I have with a separate subwoofer and two play ones for rear speakers.

Is there a reason that Sony st5000 or ht-z9f didn’t make it in to here? Cuz the ht-z9f from Sony with the sold separate wireless rear speakers is an amazing setup that supports eARC and 4K pass through as well

Going for the Samsung HW-Q80R with 5.1 and dolby atmos. It offers the best sound quality with only a soundbar and bass box. Since I don't want to have many boxes standing in the house.

Hi everyone. A quick heads-up before anyone buys this unit. It is exceptionally well made with excellent sound quality when playing music. However, it is most definitely not a 5.1 surround sound system designed for home cinema. Even with the rear speakers and the subwoofer, it just doesn't cut it as a home cinema system. The rear speakers hardly transmit any sound, the subwoofer is really not necessary as the unit delivers a perfectly good base without the need for the subwoofer. The only time anyone would actually use this unit to its full potential would be somewhere where you have no neighbours and can play you favourite sounds at loud volume levels. One more interesting point, it is absolutely NOT user-friendly. Very difficult to set-up, very hard to determine what's going on with the unit. When you switch between Sky and Netflix, for example, the unit mutes itself, and you have to use the cumbersome remote control to find which channel should be playing the sound. It also cannot group with the Bose portable speaker over WiFi as the portable only supports Bluetooth when playing music from a laptop. Bose has quite clearly never heard of plug and play. All these points were not made clear when purchased. FAZIT: Only buy if your primary use is playing music, for home cinema look elsewhere. 4 out of 10.

The best soundbar to buy is a proper surround sound system or even just a pair of high quality stereo speakers.

Ha it’s 2020 now . Anyhow I have the Vizio 5.1.2 , it works fine for me . $300 , hdmi arc , optical, atmos, fills the room, and doesn’t have a mess of wires everywhere.

A lot are praising the Nakamichi soundbars which defeats the purpose for most people that want a soundbar. If I wanted to deal with rear speakers, wires, placing them etc I would just get a receiver with real surround speakers and sub.

Best budget soundbar is Vizio 36 inch with built in dual subwoofers. It's the best I've heard under $200 easily.

How is it possible that you haven’t done the Sony HT-ST5000 yet? It came out over 2 years ago lol and for the longest time was considered the best standalone soundbar/sub duo for awhile. I’d even consider it to still be.

I walked into Best Buy and listened to both Samsungs, Sony, Vizio and walked away impressed by the Samsung Harman Kardon Q90R but I'll have to settle for the Q80R because of budget contraints. Samsung with the directional firing speakers did a great job with the ATMOS sound direction in a open environment. That means it will do very well in an enclosed space that most of us (at least me) have.

Bro the q80r atmos experience is phenomenal as long as you have good room acoustics - like you said of course it wont match a full speaker set up but still...for a soundbar its pretty damn good. I got it for $700.

Please talk a bit about their expandability, like hooking up independent sattelites and/or subs.

Very unfortunate that this didn't come out a couple weeks sooner. I _just_ bought a Sonos PlayBase and two One speakers for 5.1.

Please start adding a midrange only section to your reviews. The price rage is to broad to break down into just two flavors!

TBH, most soundbars sound rather good. So just buy whatever’s on clearance. Just don’t buy the really cheap stuff.

One other question to ask yourself do you want just a sound bar Or a whole home audio solution? Sonos and blue sound are whole home options . The Samsung wireless rears are a pain constantly need re adding and not very expandable .
