I previously had the Samsung and currently have the Nakamichi. I definitely feel that the Nakamichi is much more immersive for your home theater setup and you get 2 subwoofers but I also wanted to mention that they keep saying the Samsung speakers are wireless but you still have to plug them into electricity outlet which means actually they are not wireless and they have a large wire where as the nakamichi you do not have a large wire but a wire the size of smaller than a bread tie width that you can literally tuck between the carpet and the wall or hide it anywhere it is very small and descriet.

I got my Shockwafe 9.2 last week and when I fired it up, I wasn't too impressed. But after reading in the manual the settings I had to make in my XBOX One X, that changed. And wow did it change. You have to set the XBox to pass through the audio, and set it to Dolby Atmos or you'll never get the effects. I put on "Ready Player One" and the sounds were coming from everywhere. I have the rears on their side, and the surrounds up straight. Seems to work the best for my situation.

The followings are some of the cons with the 7.2.4 system after 2 weeks of usage: 1. The system is present to turn on at volume 45, need to load patch to fix. 2. The sound system logic is very basic, nothing compares to a full fledge sound amplifier that provide much much more audio detail. This system lacks any directional audio detail. 3. You can bearly hear anything out of the rear speakers, they are only ON about 5% of the time. 4. The sound producted from the system is just loud with very very minimal surround sound detail. 2d audio vs 3d audio 5. The connection wire for the rear speakers are very thin, it's about 3mm thick. I guess it doesn't matter because no audio comes out of it anyway. 6. The speaker setting display is on the center soundbar behind a grill, display in pixel led. You will not be able to see the display if you are more than 5-8ft away. For the price they couldn't create an on screen display? 7. The Audio sounds like you are in a tunnel, I guess thats what they think 5.1 should sound like. 8. The speaker will sometime pop as you traverse through Netflix selections. 9. There is a 5 second delay in Netflix after a selection before sound comes out of the speakers. 10. The solution for the slow processing speed of the volume control is to have the volume selection slip every other number. So, the volume control is only usable by 2 digit increments. 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. So if u think 7 is just right too bad that is not available. 11. The inwall screw anchor is one size too large. There is a great chance the screws could pop out. You should insert an additional anchor into the one provided. 12. The sound level fluctuates.

Michael Jordan my opinion is bias but I am gonna give you the real reason to go with 7.2.4. One guy who’s opinion I respect told me the difference in having two subwoofers. With one sub the brain starts to detect where the bass is coming from. With two subwoofer it fills the entire room and the bass is much more submersive! Go with Nakamichi you won’t regret it! I have had mine about a year and still love what it offers.

Also, you mentioned the better sound for the Samsung for Dialog and speech, which is what we are looking for. We currently have a low price Samsung soundbar that works better than the TV's built in speakers but we both have trouble sometimes with hearing dialog, especially with sources that play loud background music! We hate that! My wife and I would love it if the directors would not play the background music! We don't need music to set our mood and feelings, we can do that ourselves! We would rather have no music and hear the speech better!

3:08 I wish someone would make a video on this, but does using ARC have any other limitations or are there any other disadvantages to using it in respect to getting the highest audio quality?
@brynner6133
@brynner6133 4 жыл бұрын
Basically what they said wraps it up; regular ARC (as opposed to eARC) has a bandwidth cap so it doesn't support uncompressed surround audio. In addition, I've seen some people complain that ARC connection can lead to lip-sync issues between the video and audio. Generally though, it's a good option. If you can use an HDMI in port for something like a blu ray which can send uncompressed audio, that would be better, but since streaming apps are compressed, for internet media there shouldn't be a noticeable difference between HDMI IN and HDMI ARC.

I brought this sound bar due to the high reviews it got. After using it I would say the reviews are way overly positive. Either everyone has very low expectations or they have never heard a quality system. I guess if u are going from an ipod to this this is a great system. But if you have something to compare this system (like Bose) with than there are a lot of shortcomings that does not demand this price. The followings are some of the issues I found with the Nakamichi 7.2.4 system after 2 weeks of usage: 1. The system is present to turn on at volume 45, need to load patch to fix. 2. You will not be able to see the display if you are more than 5-8ft away. For the price they couldn't create an on screen display? Useless 7. The Audio sounds like you are in a tunnel, I guess thats what they think 5.1 should sound like. 8. The speaker will sometime pop as you traverse through Netflix selections. 9. There is a 5 second delay in Netflix after a selection before sound comes out of the speakers. 10. The solution for the slow processing speed for the volume control is to have the volume selection slip every other number. So, the volume control is only usable by 2 digit increments. 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. So if u think 7 is just right too bad that is not available. Super dumb! 11. The inwall screw anchor is one size too large. There is a great chance the screws could pop out. You should insert an additional anchor into the one provided. 12. The sound level fluctuates. 13. The HDMI cables that came with it are garbage. For a grand, I would think they could spend $10 bucks for a better cable. I guess milk you once since they know you won't buy again. Smart business. 14. The location of the HDMI plugs are brainless. This is a sound bar that will be mounted on the wall below the TV. But the placement of the HDMI plugs are at the back of the unit not even facing up. Little thought was put in to design this system. I just did all the work for them on version 3.0 for free. Overall, this system didn't meet my expectation and the brand quality of Nikamichi. Will come back if I find anything else. Please give me a thumbs up if this was helpful. Update (April 2021) - These speakers are garbage. I just can't express how much I hate these speaker. Over price junk. It has so much problems that it should be considered Beta speakers. Today the soundbar just started to automatically turnoff every 20 mins. I guess it because it decided to put itself on standby mode. I spent 2 hours and still cant find out how to turn that off. JUNK! (JAN2022) - I had to come back here to provide another update. I thought I could get use to the system after some time. But one can never get use to garbage because it just get more disgusting over time. This sound bar is beyond the ability to describe. If you pay over $200 for this system you are over paying. That is why you see so many people trying to dump this garbage. I surprised there is a class action lawsuit for the grief this system cause! Please save yourself the agony and buy something else.

Well well, I was initially skeptical but I totally concur with the review and rating! While Nakamichi is more punchy, it was clearly missing the low-frequency bass that HW-Q90R catches! After going through multiple audio samples for our day to day use case, with utmost difficulty we chose Samsung for the following reasons - easy to set up, less hassle with fewer wires running around the house, sound quality over quantity and most importantly because of one of our local stores giving us the Samsung HW-Q90R for $899 :D

Really wonder how the Shockwafe 9.2 eARC (Nakamichi's 2022 release) sounds like vs the SSE that is covered in this video. It adds eARC (FINALLY) and supposedly has better speaker drivers and amps! The frequency response is down to 20hz. I've voted for the soundbar to be reviewed in Rtings "Suggest a soundbar" page - hope Rtings gets to reviewing this soon. Audio performance is #1 to me - everything else is secondary.

www.helpdesk.nakamichi-usa.com/plug-and-play-matching-tool Nakamichi has a whole setup tool with info on how to connect for various devices and the settings to use. etc. Generally speaking from my understanding, arc for your certain devices its best to get the full uncompressed audio by having it directly plugged into the soundbar. e.g., 4k Blueray player. Keep in mind, netflix and other streaming services generally compress the sound so that benefit of eArc and that setup is somewhat negated if that's what you mainly view. For Nakamichi, I tested with the matching tool various devices, Xbox, apple tv, blueray player etc., and since they have the available connections, always put my preferred devices directly to the soundbar, with less used devices plugged to the tv directly once the connections ran out. This may change once they have eArc, however, based on their website it sounds like they have no plans to upgrade this model with eArc anytime soon due, in part, to the reasons mentioned above.

"If you're looking for a truly impressive 360 immersion experience with lots of connectivity, Nakamichi is the way to go!" Yes. Exactly! The Nakamichi is truly the better overall soundbar especially if you want a TRULY immersive, surround sound, ATMOS experience. Yes, who wouldn't? "but, you'll need to adjust the settings so it sounds right in your set up." ?? Well, yeah...of course. That's not a negative though. That's just...a given...for ANY system really. As for the remote, yeah, the Nakamichi is more like a receiver remote specifically because it's a much more configurable system. Nothing against the Samsung, I actually considered that at one point. But, if you're a home theater purist who wants a soundbar and for whatever reason, are not going with a receiver and full speaker set up, the Nakamichi is hands down the better way to go.

Just bought the Q90r and this is my personal very average joe review. Think of it as my opinion nothing more lol Pros : The sound bar(technically the main component) is a masterpiece. Literally have nothing bad to say the piece sounds good at low volumes and great at high as well. Cons : The rear speakers are very weak/low. The main sub is also very weak/low. As in weak it doesn’t get as loud as I would like it to. Even with the sound turned up all the way it’s not really that dynamic(yes I turned it up to the max to test it out) Doesn’t really have a wow feeling even though it’s the “flagship” sound bar of Samsung.
