What another lovely video, and seeing how much Kyiv has changed and changing since i was last there in 2014...Certainly more upbeat and lively since the Maidan situation end of 2013 ,start of 2014.A really sad experience attending classes through a battlezone. I do hope Ukraine and others in the area can resolve things, building for a future that all can gain.Glad you mentioned the bombshelter stations of the metro..

Hey, I can recommend Museum of strategic rocket forces, it is almost 300 km from Kyiv, but you would definitely like it. It is a nuclear rocket assembly, which is in a pretty good condition, you will be able to go down to the bunker with control room, from where nuclear rockets were supposed to be launched. Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons, but this museum keeps the memory.

Great stuff, keep 'em coming. Interesting to see how deep those metros go, and those huge bomb doors. The hotel is great, the architecture of it, and that spiral ramp :-) Wonder if you had kept going to the top, and wonder how good the food is there. The city is beautiful, how unfortunate about the lack of emissions control, I know exactly what you're referring to. I go volunteer/help out at a local mechanic's garage every few Saturdays for a few hours, and firing up a vehicle inside is not a problem, you don't notice at all the emissions, but on that once or twice when we did have an antique automobile in that garage and started it up, within only a few seconds we were overwhelmed with the exhaust fumes... night and day between older and newer vehicles! Please do keep filming slow sweeping panoramas from the higher points of the city, I've noticed that from several of the videos, when you pan from elevated sections, where one can see an overview of the layout of the city, which is what prompts me to say above, "beautiful city". As an aside, glad to hear you got to see those Moscow metros, I'd be jealous if I were the type to get jealous... just happy for you that you got to experience getting there to see those.

Well, some might say, 'Oh that was boring, nothing happened...', but that just happens to be the way I like exploring, very little planning, just walk/drive exploration, and see where it takes you... get to a crossroad, look all three directions, and turn whichever direction looks most interesting. Without rigid plans, when you get to an interesting/relaxing/entertaining/impressive/delightful whatever place, or encounter someone or people you would like to spend more time with, then you're free to do so without that @&(*$^!%$^@*&*^#$%$ time pressure. Not to say though, that you might not look up information about where you're headed and make a small list of a few things you might want to catch along your travels, but ideally that list doesn't tear you away from the superb/wonderful/engaging moments when you have the privilege of stumbling upon them. Keep exploring Peter, keep discovering :-)

Have you been to Mamaeva Sloboda? It's a cossacks settlement with a bunch of wooden huts and other stuff next to National Aviation University. It's better to visit it on some holiday like Independence day or Constitution day in the end of June. Also I recommend visiting Aviation Museum that's not far from airport Zhulyani. And if you like nature and flowers you may wanna go to Співоче поле to take some nice photos. Just google it, I don't know how to say it properly, maybe Singing Field, sounds weird, but that's it. It's not far from World War museum. But it's opened for like 3 weeks or so, from the end of August to 15th of September I guess.

Peter, man, you will boil yourself to the death if you will continue to dress yourself in such manner in the summer. Consider buying some flax clothes. It is real salvation from heat. You start from Reitarska street one of the most historical and fashionable streets in Kiev. And look how people of Kiev handle this marvelous heritage. The façade of this building of the end of 19th century is literarily vandalized by the residents as long as the other buildings on your way. Yes, the US does not have this kind of heritage and probably you are not able to feel the pain like I do. And you may call this “freedom”. Freedom to vandalize façades, freedom to park the car across the sidewalk, freedom to drive a car that consumes more oil than gas and spoils all the air around all this “freedoms” do not exist in the US. Enjoy. As an American you can afford to spend daily couple of thousand Grivnas just to have a snack here and there and entertain yourself that makes you literally feel this “freedom”. But this sum of money is more than monthly income of an average Ukrainian pensioner. Do you think they share your “freedom” enthusiasm? Everybody like the word “freedom” but nobody knows where is the red line between “freedom” and “lack of order”. As for Communists that Ukrainians “want to forget”. The old touristic street from you previous video Andreevsky Spusk (slope) with astounding blue 18th century church on top was practically demolished in the course of WWII and carefully rebuilt to its original state and style by “barbaric communists”. And the ugliest building there the new theater that looks like incongruous black box was built couple of years ago in the prime of this “freedom”. I do not eulogize communists. The Salute hotel was built on a place of another marvelous 18th century bell tower. This bell tower of Saint Nicholas church was built in 1750 and demolished by communists in 1930. www.google.com/maps/@50.4518966,30.5110595,3a,75y,26.03h,127.2t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s1IXmx76x1aOOk7lPTRUUhQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

"Я вернусь" sounded like "Euronews" to me. A good way to learn other languages when you find similar sounding words, I don't know how they called, maybe homonyms

There is nothing creative or nice about that hotel. Its an egotistical backlash against traditional architecture. Made for for the mass man with no soul, it simple novelty that wears out when another novelty replaces it. Question for you. Did it contribute to the block or street, or ruin the look and harmony of it? If the whole block was full of similar building would you be so attracted to it? Would it be harmonious. etc.
