It's Not Cagefighting

It's Not Cagefighting

Күн бұрын

Mixed Martial Arts isn’t the first place you think of when it comes to good sportsmanship, how can you when the sport revolves around knocking each other out in a cage? But among the bravo and intensity there’s a number a times when compassion shines through and leave fans smiling in the process.

@Rokaize
@Rokaize 2 жыл бұрын
@@coolbreeze3793 As a life long boxing fan it took me a while to warm up to UFC or MMA in general. I wouldn’t ever say it’s mindless violence though. I think it boils down to how it looks. Their punches are so wild and furious compared to boxing. Defense isn’t as important as you don’t see nearly the amount of slipping and general head movement and blocks you see in boxing. And you don’t get too many defensive/counter puncher fighters in UFC. The supreme and obvious technical skill of boxing isn’t as apparent in MMA. It just “looks” different. Floyd Mayweather is famous for his technical skill. He makes boxing truly look like “the sweet science”. Which to me is more visually impressive compared to MMA. Of course MMA and UFC wasn’t helped by the ridiculous first fights. It was seen as a joke. Karate practitioners fighting sumo guys? Just looked like a big joke early on. And hitting unconscious opponents certainly didn’t help the image. But of course ufc is a lot different now and way more professional. MMA at the UFC level requires a lot of skill and Theyr just as talented as any boxer at a similiar level. Just looks different
@herebrotakethisl8422
@herebrotakethisl8422 2 жыл бұрын
@@Rokaize sorry but no. MMA fighters are generally more talented than boxers because boxing is one small aspect of MMA that you have to have good knowledge on, not including the likes of wrestling and BJJ an all that good shit.
@Rokaize
@Rokaize 2 жыл бұрын
@@herebrotakethisl8422 talented in what? You’re comparing apples to oranges. Is an American football player more talented than a rugby player? You can’t even compare the two. Each would lose if they were dropped into another sport. The boxing most mma guys use is nowhere near as in-depth as a real boxers. Which is fine, they have many other things to learn. They can’t just practice boxing all day. But to compare something as nebulous as “talent” sounds ridiculous

@Daniel Dimino - Kiyoshi Tamura was also pissed at the ref for botching the stoppage in his second fight against Minowaman. We only saw Tamura pushing the ref before the cam moved away, but from such a cold guy it was nice to see that he didn't enjoy having to soccer kick Minowa to get a TKO... With all the classeless stuff we see in this sport, all the super late shots, etc... even small sthing like this are appreciated.

Big fan of the channel, but you leave out important moments that add context. For instance, if you watch the entire post fight interview, Bisping gave Luke every bit of props. That clip you showed of Bisbing going off at him was after Luke sat through the entire question period with a sour look on his face and made consistent jabs at Bisping. Hence the phrase "how do those lemons taste?" by Bisping. I'm not even a big Bisping fan, but in fairness, most wouldn't have waited as long as he did to snap back.
