Novablast 3 is 31mm in terms of stack WITHOUT the insole. So around 36/37mm with the insole. Thanks to the good people who flagged it ;)

Yes ive got all three of these excellent shoes. For me the odd one out is the Nova Blast 3 which i use for long runs and recovery days. Ive only had the Puma's for a few days but i am really enjoying them really comfortable upper nice lockdown. They definitely work better for faster sessions but do feel on the heavier side and probably wouldn't do anymore than 8 miles in them and definitely wouldn't race in them. The Endorphin Speeds which i left till last straight away felt much lighter and faster and i definitely would race in these and have done over 10 mile runs in them with out really knowing they were on my feet. If you can't afford the Endorphin Speeds the Puma's are a absolute bargain and you can get them for under one hundred pounds on some sites.

i have tried all 3 - My Conclusion Novablast - turned off by scratchy/rough material in the upper, was expecting more bounce but never felt it Speed 3: Super Flexible, not as aggressive as Speed 2 and experienced hot spot, but still enjoyed it until... Deviate Nitro 2: Came in and - felt like i was riding a SPEED 2 with Stability and better laces! The Deviate Nitro 2 - IS the shoe - i had hoped the Suacony Speed 3 was going to be! My 2023 Training Shoe lineup is now complete: EASY DAY: Asics Nimbus 25 Daily Trainer: Deviate Nitro 2 Race Day: Saucony Speed 2

I have the Pumas and I absolutely love them. They aren't as 'race ready' as the Endorphin Speeds (v1 or v2 at least... I haven't tried v3), but they are super versatile, grippy and durable. The outsole in the Speeds is a very weak point: not only it does not have good traction, but in V3 it seems to compromise durability a lot and that, for a versatile trainer that is not exactly cheap, IS important!

Hi cristianfcao, totally agree with you. I have the NB3 TR, got the TR ver coz i wanna maxmize the mileage out of the asics and the TR ver has got at least double the outsole thickness from what i compared in the stores. Also seems to have improved a little on the wet traction over the original as well from what i have read, probably due to the lugs. I have ran on wet outdoor tiles cornering in the NB3 TR at relatively high speeds (like 10-12 kmh tight 3 metre radius corners), no issue. Some folks in other comment sections mentioned wet manholes and drain covers, I mean come on even the super good Puma Grip outsole would slip, don't even mention about NB3. I also have the deviate nitro 2, love the yellow/slight orange at the rear colourway! The speed 3 is way too costly over here in physical stores, not helped with the higher base price and relatively little discounts. My wife just got the deviate nitro 2 at a little over usd 100 a few days ago (-43% plus an additional 5% with promo code and shipping was just usd 11), even cheaper than the NB3 after discount! But i guess for those elite runners and/or have a bigger budget, no issue with the Speed 3 and with what it brings. For the rest of us recreational runners/joggers, actually even a nitro velocity 2 is already more than sufficient. lol

I love my Novablast 3’s for easy and long runs!! Probably the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned and are super bouncy and responsive! I would say they are fairly versatile, but there are probably other shoes that are better for tempo/faster paces. Their best aspects I think are comfort, cushioning and saving your legs when putting in loads of miles at easier paces.

Good comparison. I own two of the three and they both achieve the same thing with different methods. The Speed has a more flexible plate but firmer foam while the deviate has a stiffer plate and softer foam. I’ve done more sessions in the speed 3 and it’s a great shoe for that but it’s a no go for autumn running here with wet metal, slimy leaves and muddy paths. The deviate is a shoe that seems to get better every run at the moment. Effortless pace and good leg protection. My current favourite go to shoe (although I’m currently waiting for it to dry out after an insanely heavy rainstorm the other day). The deviate feels more muffled because of the thickness of Puma grip but is a brilliant shoe while the speed feels more lively at first wear. The ASICS, I’ve decided to leave for now as I’m going to pick up the Superblast because it looks insane. 😅

Nice video. I've never been a big fan of the Endorphin Speed line. The foam feels dead and no way would I race in it. I don't even use it for intervals, where a shoe like the Adios 7 is more comfortable, more responsive, and faster. I have a couple pairs of the Endorphin Pro and I'd use them for every run over the Speed. Maybe it's just my gait cycle, but it doesn't work for me. I wear them for walking around shoes now

Hi. I'm 53, i play a football match and run just twice (sometimes 1 sometimes 3 times) a week. I started to run last year alone so it's not easy for me to be constant in training but i try, even if i have to fight against my "weak" mind to keep the right motivation. However, depending on the time a can spend for training the distance I run is from 5 to 10, 11 or 12 km and the average speed is about 5'15" (you can laugh!). But i'd likes to improve both the distance and the speed. Please don't tell anyone my dream is to run a half marathon (try not to laugh n.2) I have to replace my Mizuno Wave Rider 25 with a comfortable and responsive shoe. Novablast 3 and Deviate Nitro 2 are very interesting. Do you think one of these could be the right choice for an old 67 kg dreamer like me? Thank you. P.S. Alex, where are you from?

I have to disagree with the Speed 3 😉 I've done +250k on every terrain and pace with the Endorphin Speed and the shoe is very stable. The "wings" do a great job. Grip is as you mentioned. The shoe is also on the wide side on the forefoot. My feet are on the wide side and the fit is just perfect. Another plus is the wear and tear: The shoe will last almost forever. After the 250k mark the outsole looks like new.

I have the Novablast 3 (NB3) and Endorphin Speed 3 (ES3) and love them both. They get the most of my weekly miles. I should receive the Deviate Nitro 2 any day now and am really looking forward to comparing it to NB3 and ES3 as a daily trainer. For me, the NB3 sits closer to the easy/recovery category but you can certainly pick up the pace as it's fairly light (7.9 oz or 224g in my US size 8). The ES3 is definitely faster and a little lighter (7.3 oz or 207g in 8.5 as I found I need to size up half-size on most of my Saucony shoes). I rotate between the ES3 and NB3 depending on how I feel on a given day. If I don't want to exert myself too much and want to bounce along, then it's the NB3. If I'm feeling energized and want to really pick up the pace, then it's the ES3. I also have the Mach 5 that I like to rotate in once in a while for a squishier feel but is still fast. So, for tempo, I'd say the ES3 amongst what I have but I'll have to see what Deviate Nitro 2 is like and that'll happen soon enough! Very excited based on all the great reviews I've seen/read about it.

How did you find the DN2 vs the NB3 and ES3, assuming you've been using it already.
@alexkhan2000
@alexkhan2000 Жыл бұрын
@@DOLwm Out of these three, I used the ES3 and it was my main daily trainer for several months almost exclusively and I put a lot of miles into it. Then, NB3 came along and that became my favorite for a while although I continued to rotate between the two as they feel and ride quite different. I thought I was set on the daily trainer category for a long while to come and then I started seeing all these raving reviews about the DN2. I really didn't need another daily trainer but thought, "Why not? Let's give this a try. Seems like it's different enough from the ES3 and NB3." I got it and, initially over the first 2~3 miles, I thought it was okay but wasn't blown away by it. Then, when I got to around 6~7 miles, I really started getting what this shoe is about. The ride is a muted and not as fun and bouncy as the NB3 and it's not as snappy and fast as the DN2 but it felt really steady and just kept chugging me along very smoothly. When I picked up the pace, it had no problem adjusting to my gait cycle to go fast. When I slowed down, it became smoother with nice cushioning and the plate kept propelling me forward without much exertion. The DN2 can literally do it all and do them all very well. I love it and it has now become my favorite all-round running shoe. You can do short tempo and interval runs and sprints and you can go easy and long and everything in between seamlessly and effortlessly. It is by far the most versatile running shoe I've tried. The overall feel and ride is somewhere in between the ES3 and NB3. It can feel a little firm/stiff at first but loosens up nicely. It takes a little bit of break-in but not 20~30 miles or anything like that. It's robust yet extremely comfortable, protective (well-cushioned) but fast and nimble, and workhorse-like but still exciting. I agree with Alex. This is 2022's Shoe of the Year.
