Did you know that there’s a road going all the way around the entire island of Tahiti and that the road is only 70 miles long? The island of Tahiti is the biggest in all of French Polynesia, and it has more than its size to offer visitors. The beautiful island is home to numerous pristine beaches, lots of gorgeous wilderness, and some incredibly unique culture. All of these elements combine to make the island one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. There’s plenty to do and see while you’re on the island of Tahiti, and we’ll be taking a look at some of the best things in this video!

The capital of Tahiti is known as Papeete, and you’ll certainly be spending some time there while you’re on the island. Taking a walk through the capital can provide visitors with some unique sights, and there’s also the Papeete Market that offers tourists and locals alike plentiful amounts of unique and local food and wares. The Papeete Market is one of the best places to go looking for Tahitian pearls to take home as a souvenir, and also to grab some food!
If you want to experience Tahiti’s coasts, the easiest way to do so is by driving along the road that encircles the entire island along them. This road is only 70 miles long, but it may take you several hours to traverse it due to the predominantly low speeds of drivers in the area. There’s also plenty to see inland while visiting Tahiti, including the staggeringly tall Mount Aorai and the gorgeous Papenoo Valley.
